Rocky Top Retreat-Decorated for Christmas Near NPS

This cabin sits in a beautiful, quiet location. It’s equipped with everything needed. Its location was just a few minutes away from everything we wanted to do on our trip. Our first night we had a bat flying around inside, but we managed to get it out the back door. Property owner was notified and quick to respond for us.

Tucked away in the woods but close to hiking and restaurants

The Cabin was very clean. They are doing a few major upgrades to the fire pit area and a new amazing hot tub. They were such a nice addition. The host Michael was very informative and responded quickly to all questions. Will definitely love to stay there agsin

We had such a wonderful stay and would absolutely recommend this property to anyone visiting the area. The home was clean, comfortable, and clearly well cared for, and it had everything we needed for a relaxing getaway. Communication from the host was smooth and helpful, and check-in was simple and stress-free.The standout feature for our group was definitely the lower deck hot tub. It’s a fantastic setup—large enough for multiple adults to sit comfortably, and the lighting makes it especially enjoyable in the evening. The built-in Bluetooth speaker was an awesome touch, allowing us to play our own music while soaking and relaxing. It honestly felt like a private spa experience tucked into the deck.We spent a lot of time out there unwinding, and it quickly became everyone’s favorite spot at the house. Between the atmosphere, the space, and the thoughtful features, it really elevated the whole stay.Overall, this was a great property and a perfect place to relax. We would happily stay here again and highly recommend it to future guests looking for a comfortable place with a truly amazing hot tub setup!

Rocky Top Retreat is incredible!! We were there for a weekend and didn't want to leave. The decor and layout make it feel so cozy, and the location cannot be beat. The hot tub was toasty and provided a beautiful view of the stars. Michael is one of the most considerate and courteous hosts I have dealt with. He made the whole stay go smoothly, and kindly alerted us to some weather that could impact our stay. I hope I am able to stay at Rocky Top again soon!

Owner is in the process of making some upgrades which did not interfere with our stay and were a pleasant surprise. We’ll definitely book again.

Rocky Top Retreat is our go-to in Fayetteville! Always clean, well-stocked, and hosted with care. The location is perfect—just minutes from Adventures on the Gorge, downtown, Freefolk Brewery, climbing, and hiking trails right off the driveway. Whether you’re out adventuring or just soaking in the hot tub with mountain views, this cabin is the best spot in town.

Host made sure we had everything we needed. Secluded place yet incredibly close to town. Would definitely stay again. Only thing I could say negative was the floors were extremely creeky. So as soon as 1 person gets up the whole house is up. Great property overall.

Remote area with a great view, while still being close to all of thhe excursions we had planned.

Cute cabin! Unable to get the shower to work. So needed to use the bathtub. Had to scrub out the bathtub. It was so gross!!! Windows and walls so dirty. Hot tub not working property.

You were somewhat disappointed on the cleanliness silly fans are filthy poor lighting, not enough towels overall it needs really a good cleaning

Property was well-kept and stocked as advertised. There was even firewood for the fire pit! It would be nice to have a couple of extra towels as they don’t always dry completely from one day to the next. Specific directions provided via email were very helpful!

This property was the perfect place for our end of summer getaway! Secluded, but also convenient and close to town and all the sights & trails we were wanting to visit! The house is as described. Clean, and very user friendly. Towels, linens, pots & pans all provided. Would definitely stay here again!

Nicely located about 20 minutes from most restaurants and ACE water park. The home is cozy and is found down a long one lane road. Minimal road noise heard. We were told that the guest before us were rough on the house and they almost canceled on us when we brought up some broken and dirty things. We elected to stay even though they offered to refund us if we did not utilize the property at all. We cleaned what we could and enjoyed the rest of our stay.

Warm & Inviting, surrounded by nature, this serene property is within minutes of the Adventures on the Gorge resort. It is equipped with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Perfect set up for our multi generation family of 6. Plenty of privacy but wonderful gathering areas as well.

So let me say this. The pics don’t sue this wonderful peaceful justice. Me and my family stayed for 7 days. Beautiful, private, cozy, clean. Had everything you need on the property. From wood for fire pit to towels and even coffee. We enjoyed the porch swing during the thunderstorm. And the view off the wrap around porch. Tons of local wildlife and centrally located to all the adventure the National park has to offer. Easy check in and out. Very helpful host def going back.

The cabin is a unique combination of very old (would love to know the history) and newly added construction. It has such character! The floor plan is great and there is room for a family to spread out. Watching the deer was a highlight for us! The birds around the property are incredible! Bats in the evenings were a bonus!! It was just the peaceful getaway we needed! The proximity to all we wanted to do just couldn't have been better! 10 min from the Endless Wall, the NRG, trail riding at Cowboy Town, Fayette Station Rd, easy to get to Gauley, nearby several waterfalls...all the things yet still a perfect cabin tucked in the woods. Michael was a wonderful host!

Had a great but short stay. Very convenient to AOTG. Property was as advertised.

We had a great time being close to hiking trails and the national park visitor center. We definitely hope to return to the area.

Ideal location for enjoying NRG. Short drive to most activities. We enjoyed the shaded deck but the globe strand lights from pics were missing so it was either pitch black or super bright outdoor lights at night. Kitchen was not well equipped for much cooking— very old scratched nonstick pans/pots with mismatched lids, dull knives. We found several alive and dead yellow jackets in the house which was alarming. Wifi access required you to opt-in to receive email marketing from sponsors (aka sign up for email spam) — no thanks. Didn’t come to go online, but it would’ve been nice to stream a movie for the kids on my iPad…

We chose this cabin for our stay in WV on a fishing trip. The cabin was clean, comfy and a nice, quiet, secluded lot not far from Route 19. The process of booking the stay and getting in and out were great.The only issues were the Hot water for showering was not particularly hot and the dishwasher. The dishwater had a sensor prompt an error and beeped an alert. The alert would not cancel and power OFF only lasted for 3-5 seconds before the alert beeping came back ON. It beeped all night and disturbed efforts to sleep.

Hose was as listed. We only occupied the lower level. Close proximity to hiking restaurants, and breweries. Enjoyed the stay without any problems.

Relaxing cabin close to New River Gorge National Park. Nice Hot tub on secluded poach

This was the most amazing location and the home was even more perfect! This will be our new vacation spot! The calm and relaxation we felt was beyond comprehension! I def will spend my birthday trip here in March!

The cabin was more than perfect for three of us and two dogs for a fall hiking weekend. It had everything we needed for lazy mornings before we hit the trail and relaxing evenings after. I would definitely return.
