Beautiful, peaceful cabin with a creek and pond—so relaxing and quiet. Great location: private, but close to everything. Clean, cozy, A perfect nature escape!

Please read this review prior to booking this property! We lost power from 11-5:45….not only did we loose electricity but running water as well. The owner was extremely rude and kept telling us to be “patient.” I guess he thought people spending this kind of money would be fine going the majority of the day without a working toilet. It should also be mentioned that parking is a hassle secondary to small, limited parking spaces located right on a blind curve directly on the street. In addition, you have to walk on a dimly lit path approximately 30-40 yards to reach the house. My daughter arrived first and had to be let in by a neighbor because we still hadn’t received the check-in code an hour after check-in. Lastly, there is zero mention of the countless cameras on this property. We felt like every move we made was being captured on camera. The setting was pretty. However, there is a property right down the road with an equally pretty setting and, hopefully, a kinder more reasonable host. The weather for our stay was sunny and in the 70’s and we still lost power. This is Colorado and my goal is to prevent this from happening to fellow travelers with children, the elderly or those who require the use of toilets. If we lost power when it was 70 out I can’t imagine the situation during the winter months! There is a fireplace but as a guest you aren’t allowed to use it. Book with caution! (Our stay was 9/25/25-9/28/25 for reference)

Absolutely paradise! The house was comfortable, beds & pillows were perfect, very clean and met our needs for space. The location was great. Close to Idaho Springs for dinners out and shopping. Close to I-70 for excursions and adventures. The back property was a Colorado heaven. A small river runs through and level land for sitting riverside and area for the kids to run around and explore. We caught 8 small trout (catch & release) and the kids enjoyed feeding the koi fish daily. Each fish was given a name. Because of county fire restrictions, we couldn’t have any outdoor fires or use a grill. We would definitely book this VRBO again. James was very attentive. Just FYI- no air conditioning but they did have fans and nights cooled down to the 50’s.

This cabin is great and the creek and fish ponds make it one of the best places we have ever stayed in Colorado. It’s a fantastic place for family with children. Highly recommend.

I stayed here with my husband and sister. The property is exactly as described. The location is very convenient to everything yet still secluded feeling. The kitchen is well stocked and having laundry was a plus. The outdoor area is fantastic, with the river, pond and bridges - it was a relaxing place to spend time.

We loved this cabin! Everyone in our group commented on how comfortable the beds and pillows are. This cabin was immaculately clean and there was plenty of room to spread out. The host was extremely responsive and very accommodating with our needs. If he hadn’t been so easy to work with, we may have had to cancel this family trip. All of us would like to plan a summer trip to take advantage of the decks and the river and pond! We highly recommend this home for families. We had a wonderful time.

The cabin and location is as described, very nice. The host’s communication was as expected. Our stay could have been and should have been great but… We experienced water pressure and hot water issues from the beginning of our stay until the end. We were in contact with the host, continually throughout our stay, reporting these problems. He had a neighbor attempt to fix the issue a couple of times but the repair only worked for a few hours. We had 4 adults and three kids staying for three nights and only had a few minutes of functional water pressure and hot water. Never was there enough pressure or hot water to wash dishes. While not necessarily the host’s fault, on our last night we lost all power. The icing on the cake was the host’s solution to our unsatisfactory stay. He provided a $300 credit for three days of plumbing and hot water issues. Basically saying “hey it’s a mountain cabin and stuff happens”. We have stayed in numerous Colorado cabins and this is the first time we’ve had this type of experience. After our experience, we filed a complaint with Vrbo and they were great, saying they would contact the host immediately and to expect him to respond. He never did. Vrbo did share that we should have contacted them during the stay and they would have been able to have more influence. Live and learn.

What a wonderful time we had at the cabin. The grounds are simply stunning. So many things for everyone to enjoy: young children through grandparents. Beds were soft and inviting, all spaces were clean and well equipped, and it was very easy to locate from the main roads. We would definitely return for another family visit!
