Guest access

Other things to note:

REMOTE CABIN STUFF
- Our cabin has satellite Starlink internet and therefore the connection can sometimes drop for a few seconds every hour or so. Not noticeable unless work from home with lots of long duration video and voice calls. Use your time at our home to disconnect from technology and embrace the beauty of the Rockies!
- The Master Bedroom has low, sloped ceilings so please watch your head when going upstairs and walking around!

SNOW
- During winter / spring months, we highly recommend a four-wheel drive vehicle to be able to easily park in our potentially snowy / icy driveway. Please plan accordingly as we do not offer refunds due to road conditions and incapable vehicles. The driveway is short at only about 50 yards from a county-maintained road that is well-plowed. Guests may have to shovel out (snow shovel provided) the driveway if there is a large snowstorm during the visit. Large snowstorms occur 1-5 times/season. It is recommended to be able-bodied during winter/early spring months.

WILDLIFE
- Please do not leave trash and food outside as this will attract wildlife! Bears, elk, big horn sheep, and deer roam the area. However, encounters are rare.
WIND
- The cabin occasionally gets high winds, especially in the winter months, sometimes reaching up to 65 miles per hour. The noise from the wind can be quite noticeable. Ensure you and your guests understand that such conditions may exist during your stay.
LANDSCAPE
- The land can be uneven, rocky, and dangerous in the Rocky Mountains. Please be mindful of proper footing around the property.

Loved the location. Even saw a Moose across the road!! Our favorite place to hang out was the front porch. The bed was a bit low for us, as we are getting older, but we made it work. The house is very pretty and comfortable!

What a fun and cozy little house, right off Chicago Creek Road on the way to Mount Evans. It fit 3 adults comfortably, and is clean and well put together. It was a cold weekend that we were there, so we may have to come back when it is warm to have the chance to explore the area a bit more.

Great little cabin with all the amenities of home. Dishwasher, washer dryer, WiFi, etc. Only a 10 minute drive to i70 Idaho springs. I give 10/10 as it was exactly what we needed for a wedding weekend. My only complaint was that the fire pit was blocked off and said “no fire”. It wasn’t a big deal because we were busy with a wedding and only used the cabin as a place to sleep. There was also a fire ban when we went, so maybe the sign was put in place because of that? If I were staying in the winter for a getaway that would be a deal breaker for me. It would be nice if there were exceptions for Colorado natives over a certain age. I do understand the liability aspect, some might not understand local fire bans. Just something for future guests to be aware of.

Overall this was an adorable mountain place to stay! Perfect distance to Idaho Springs downtown! A little too close to a road that was a tad busy but that wasn't too much of a problem at all - easy to jump on to get to town! There were just a few things that I would recommend changing that might of been a one time oversight. There were only two washcloths and hand towels. Plenty of big towels which was the important one. We had to buy a few items that weren't provided that the host stated there should have been there. (maybe my thorough search I overlooked them). The couch linens were not in the location they were marked to be and had to call the host for the location of them. And the last one is that the second bed in the upstairs area was considered to be the big 'bean bag' looking chair. It unzips to a mattress. I guess I wish I would have understood that more before renting. Regardless - we easily made it work with my family. Every question I had to the host he responded IMMEDIATELY which was awesome! I know those are some nit-picky things - just listing them to help people plan to easily address when packing if you are renting this beautiful house. I would bring my family here again if that tell you anything. Thank you for sharing your beautiful house in the mountains!

We had a fabulous stay at this property. The house has been beautifully done and was perfect for what we needed. We were close to Idaho Springs, which we frequently enjoyed for dinners. We were also close to lots of great hiking in the area. I highly recommend this place for your next stay in the Idaho Springs area.

It was a good quiet house with plenty of room for a family of 4. The parking was easy but we only had one vehicle. My kids enjoyed being outside and there was enough room for them to play. It rained one night while we were there but the games that were in the upstairs bedroom created a fun memory for our family. The quick drive to the adorable and friendly Idaho Springs was easy and convenient addition to our stay.

We enjoyed our 3 night stay in the travelers mountain home!! It was further into the mountain than we originally thought but it was so perfect because it was quiet, cozy and really peaceful. Every window has a beautiful view. The home is well maintained and the owners are quick to respond. We plan to come back again next winter!

We had such a wonderful visit! The cabin was clean and communication with owner when I booked the wrong year was prompt. The location in the canyon is beautiful as well as accessible to restaurants and amazing outdoor activities! Our family is not able to get together that often and this cabin was perfect. So many amenities! We loved it!

Took my wife here for her birthday on a weekend trip. The property was great and came equipped with everything we needed and then some. Best part there was a booklet with recommendations on places to go, things to see, and coffee to drink. All recommendations were to notch, the place was great, i will likely rent again.
