The cabin was beautiful and the setting was very peaceful and secluded. During the day we hiked nearby on the AT. At night it was extremely cold so we stayed warm inside playing family card games. All the rooms in the house were comfortable. Cooked, relaxed, and slept very well. As advertised the stairs should be a consideration for anyone with kids or mobility issues - they are quite steep. The host was super friendly and helpful. Thanks Tim !

Excellent cabin, but must mention the difficulty of the stairs up to the bedrooms. They are narrow and go straight up which requires strength and balance. The almost vertical stairs require extra care when going down and you must turn your feet to the side to go down safely. This place is perfect if you are looking for a cozy place to sta. But if climbing or descending almost vertical stairs is going to be an issue, this may not be the perfect place for you.

Our stay at the Sanctuary was amazing. This is a rustic cabin with modern conveniences. Our family really enjoyed our stay. The kids loved the games and the adults loved having three bedrooms, two full baths, a great kitchen and a washer/dryer. Tim was great to work with and the check in process was very easy.

Property was easy to find and checkin process went smoothly. Cabin was very clean and as described. Homeowner was very responsive and helpful. Only suggestion to owner would be to more clearly label hiking trail so others don’t wander on neighbor’s property.

My husband and I stayed three nights and I wish we could have stayed longer! We hiked and fly fished nearby. Lovely cabin. Quiet front porch from which to drink morning coffee. We had several rounds of Bananagrams at the table behind the house. Well-stocked kitchen. Just a perfect set-up! We thoroughly enjoyed our time there. Go and enjoy the quiet beauty!

We had a great time staying at your cabin. The s’mores on Saturday night were excellent. Those stairs are kind of steep but we managed. The photo album showing the construction got our attention. My family built a log home from a kit but this one is amazing. Thank you for having it available for us.

My favorite parts of this rental: * Unique log cabin in secluded, private and peaceful setting. * Loved the outside eating area. We grilled and ate all 3 of our dinners outside in the soft glow of the streamed lights and the peaceful sound of the stream. * The trout stream. Loved listening to it as we sat on the deck or the picnic area. My boys (13 & 11) spent hours playing in the stream and fishing. They caught a number of trout, none quite big enough to keep, but they had a lot of fun with catch and release. * Tim was great to work with and incredibly hospitable. He called ahead of time and made it feel like you were staying at an old family friend's home. Sent us some ideas on hikes and gave us some tips on how to enjoy the area. * The only potential small downside to the rental for some people might be that is it is about a 20-30 minute drive to get to the activities and amenities in the Marshall/Hot Springs area. However, that is also what makes the rental so peaceful, private and secluded. So its a trade-off. * The Hot Springs area is highly underrated and in my view a hidden gem. Even over Labor Day weekend it was not that crowded. Tons of activities to do... rafting, hiking, fishing, biking, etc... But does not have the touristy feel of many other mountain destination areas. * If you are looking for a real mountain getaway with a unique, comfortable home and the sound of nothing but a peaceful trout stream, this is the place for you.
