The house was a beautiful house the location was very nice we loved the creek. We spent an additional 175on fire wood trying to keep it warm,we left it cleaner than what we found i. I would be very embarrassed to reant this place out

I loved the creek being on the property! The heaters provided a lot of warmth as we were there during very low temps. Lots of extras including games. The lantern was helpful especially at night as the cabin is dim inside. Great opportunity to unplug in an antique cabin!

Cabin was cozy. Loved the front porch. Loved the hot tub. Loved the decorations. Lighting was dim even though there was plenty of lamps. Loved the upstairs. Host was very patient while helping me get the heater lit. Friend got to see a cub.

The house is on a beautiful lot and the sound from the creek was very tranquil. We were not expecting the cabin to not have central heat. There’s a wood burning stove and some electric heaters for certain rooms. There were notes on all the cut logs not to use them and you must purchase your own wood. We didn’t see this included in the listing so we weren’t prepared for the chilly nights. There was dust on the mantle and several pieces of furniture in the living room. There were spider webs throughout and the cabin was dank with a musty smell. There was Apple TV available but the apps needed updating so we weren’t able to use it. Overall, it appeared as though it had not been used in quite a while. It was a short drive into Sylva where we found some cute shops and good restaurants.

Our family has been returning to this cabin for almost 12 years now, since our kids were little. It's become such a special getaway, full of memories. We love the stream, the layout of the cabin, all the space and rooms, the unique furnishings. It's always kept nice and clean. It's a log cabin, so a couple of cobwebs are to be expected... its not a sign of neglect. We hope to keep coming back and making more memories!

Beware the wooden grates on slippery floors in baths. Shower leaks, deck is slippery, too. Obviously needs maintenance..gas dryer vent clogged (fire hazard), lbrick around wood stove one of many places to stump your toe or bump into benches. Tipping bench, shabby chewed cshions.

I have 4 kids ranging from 3-16 yrs, and everyone wants to come back next year. The creek and the lawn area made it for us- we spent just as much time outside as in (we are talking mid-July too!). There are some quirks that are very common in any mountain home I’ve ever stayed in (most are on wells, most near water get a little slippery outside.

From the beautiful creek, to the manicured lawns, the rocking chairs on the porch, and the original period furniture in the cabin - this place does NOT disappoint. There seems to be plenty to do and see nearby, but it's hard to leave the property. It was a wonderful, peaceful vacation -even with my dog jumping in and out of the creek!

Beautiful location in a cabin with an amazing history! We loved the location, the creek, and the quaintness of the cabin. The one issue we found was the lack of cleanliness especially in the kitchen. The microwave was filthy so much so that we didn’t even use it. The inside of the cabinets were also dirty and needed organizing. We did enjoy our stay and are thankful that the owners spent so much time preserving the history of the property!

The family spent most of our time creek side, lounging on the porch, grilling on the deck, roasting marshmallows over the fire pit, playing in the creek with our kids and dogs, and playing cornhole. What an absolutely beautiful location for vacation!
