I can’t think of one single thing that we didn’t like. The cabin was not only adorable and clean, but super cozy. No big frills. No unnecessary junk everywhere. Nothing but cozy amenities. The sound of the water outside was amazing. We were sad to leave and hope to stay again as soon as we can.

The cabin and surroundings were amazing

Other than spotty internet, everything was fantastic. But i think that's the point of a getaway... get away from your computer and devices. Thank you for making our stay special. My 4 year old kept saying he wanted to go back to the mountain house! So you had a happy camper.

A beautiful place to stay and a great host.

Nice cabin, clean and pet friendly which is hard to find. Could use a little tlc but was still a nice place and suited our needs.

We loved the location - close to Helvetia and secluded along the river, but not too far down a country lane. The cabin had everything we needed for the weekend and we appreciated having a cozy retreat after our busy days exploring and running around. The WiFi worked well and the cabin was toasty warm the whole time. The host was friendly and welcoming in responses and answered some questions I had before booking. We’ve had a lot of snow in the past few weeks, so I was prepared to have some difficulty getting to the cabin. With the location of the cabin, it was still snowy along the river when most of the snow had melted elsewhere. It was a winter wonderland. The road to the cabin was pretty icy and snow covered, but it was also flat and not a problem for the short drive. Our SUV with AWD had no problems on the road.

Everything was perfect. Morning coffee on the deck looking over the creek. The sound of the water was so relaxing.

Nice and cozy. Easy check in

The location is amazing. We wanted to unplug from our busy life and get back to nature. This is the place to do it! Although sleep wasn't easy due to the beds. My husband and i are over 6ft tall and the largest bed was a full that we barely for in. In top of the size, they are very uncomfortable. The pull out couch was more comfortable. The sleeping arrangements are literally the only complaint we have. But not sleeping on vacation, makes it impossible to go back. Which makes us sad bc we gave this property 4 visits in 4 years, hoping the bed issues got resolved. Unfortunately, putting a mattress topper on a problem bed, doesn't fix it. So this was the last year we are going to be choosing this cabin for our annual family vacation.

My friends and I had such an enjoyable time here. We loved the antique touches, the river was perfect!! You cannot beat the back deck ... lovely. Cheryl was great at communicating and check in/check out was an absolute breeze. We would definitely stay here again.

Return visit. Our go to property for vacation. Great area. Close to many destinations, a cozy family get away if there ever was one.

Very comfortable and relaxing place to stay Peaceful and quiet

It’s difficult getting around in the rain, because of the switchbacks and how dark it is. In the sunlight, it’s beautiful, the rolling Hills, the waterfalls the creek right in front of the house. That stayed with most of the time. You are deep in the woods. Glad I went, probably wouldn’t do it again.

Beautiful stay away from the rest of the world.

This is a small cabin in a quiet area of West Virginia with a beautiful river. The back deck overlooks the river. There is a nice area for a fire and the sound of the river is delightful.

We loved the cabin, clean and cozy, exactly what we wanted. The creek is very relaxing and is just a great scape from the city noise. THANKS

Beautiful location right in the stream - we enjoyed family tome with fishing, hiking at Holly River Stare park.

The cabin and location did not disappoint!!!! We toured the asylum, helvetia was awesome. Game farm was close. Bucks diner was so good!! Had a great time. Thank you!

This is one place in earth where you can truly reconnect with nature. Our boys played in the river until we made them get out. We have been here several times and will be there several more as it's our favorite vacation destination!
