Dogwood Cabin near Ash Cave

Beautiful cabin on top of the hill. There are other cabins on the same road, but no issues with privacy. Cabin was clean and had the necessary items in the kitchen for us to prepare meals. Gas fireplace was very nice. The screened-in back room was very nice to sit out and relax watching the trees. Wifi was good inside and reception is good-decent around the cabin. However, once you go down the hill, you won't have much reception. Roku TV, DVD player (dvds included), and board games provided made it so fun for entertainment. The front porch has a two-seats rocking chair and a porch swing that makes the perfect place for coffee and books. We did not use the Hot tub, it was already on and filled when we got there, so we didn't know if it had been used/clean prior to our visit. This would be good information the host can provide the guests during check-in.

We enjoyed this cabin. We loved the screened in porch with the hot tub the best! We didn’t have to deal with bugs which was so nice. The owners were very communicative when needed!

Beautiful property and gracious host. Cabin was very clean and had everything we needed for our stay. WiFi worked perfectly. Tv had Roko and all other like Nexflix or Amazon Prime if needed. Great location with easy driving for pizza or dollar general and access to the caves.

This was a very simple to find cabin in the area. The cabin was very clean and decorated to the cozy vibe and had everything we needed. We loved the hot tub and that was also very clean and good condition! The checkin process and check out was easy. I will def stay here again and recommend this property to other couples needing a getaway.

We truly love spending our vacation time here. We have been here 3 years in a row. Look forward to next year's stay already.

My wife and I did our 10 year anniversary at this cabin and it did not disappoint!! We loved it so much were are going to make this cabin an annual trip. David was great and was there for any questions our concerns. We didn't have one negative thing to say about this place except I wish we would have stayed longer.

Cabin was cozy, nicely decorated and as/more than listed. Watched squirrels in the trees while relaxing in the hot tub. Gas log fireplace was a nice touch while unwinding from hiking and sightseeing. Would 100% recommend. Dave and Caroll were fantastic. They truly care about those staying in their cabins. Nice Valentine's day decorations. Heavy rain then snow. Dave called to check on us and give warnings about flooding. Great job!

While we enjoyed our time at the cabin itself, our experience did not meet our expectations as well as we had expected. The driveway to the Dogwood Cabin is incredibly steep and was not able to be driven in due to the snow. We had to park at the bottom of the driveway and make trips up and back to carry in our belongings. Upon checking in (5:10pm), we called the number listed in the email and front porch of the check in office to express this concern and no one answered the phone. We did not receive any phone call back. This, along with a few minor inconveniences caused our stay to not go as well as we had hoped. There is no sponge in the kitchen, which is frustrating as we had to clean our own dishes upon checking out. The cabin itself was very cute and well decorated. The hot tub was nice to have and the bed was comfortable.

This was our 2nd stay at this cabin and it was just as fun and relaxing as the 1st. Everything is clean and the location is quiet and peaceful. The owners are very quick to respond when questions. We will definitely be back again.

Hubby and I reserved Dogwood cabin, recently, for a few days. This cozy cabin with a fully functioning kitchen, is located on a secluded hill, with everything needed for our mini-vacation. Quiet, rustic, scenic, and an easy place to unwind. The hot tub, was a fantastic way to relax before bed. A true treat. This cabin is not only clean, but very comfy. Queen-sized bed in upstairs loft, was comfortable, as were fluffy pillows. Simple functioning fireplace, made a cool night warm up quickly. Campfire and grill under the stars, was just what we needed. There are convenient reasonably priced firewood bundles nearby for your campfires. The hosts, were most helpful, and friendly. We definitely recommend Oakwood Cabins!
