As with all three of our cabins, Caribou sits on more than 20 acres of pristine forest and meadow. The expansive windows and roomy deck provide an unrivaled view north into Glacier. On clear nights, your deck is also the perfect place to gaze at stars, which, due in part to our sparsely populated valley, are wonderfully bright.

Caribou features two bedrooms, each with a queen bed. The master bedroom is upstairs for added privacy. There is a full bath, fully-equipped kitchen, and a combined dining and living room area with an energy-efficient Jotul wood stove. Logs, which are cut from our own property, are provided. On your deck, there is a large bistro style table and chairs. Log accents abound throughout the cabin, from the log supports and peak log in the master bedroom to the stairway.

Our namesake, Hay Creek, runs the course of our southern border. It is home to the endangered bull trout.

Finally, our location is very special. Polebridge, Montana is a small community that offers solitude, beauty, and a bit of local flavor and entertainment at our local venues. Our location and proximity are quite unique.

Nestled just three miles from the North Entrance of Glacier National Park, the Hay Creek Cabins offer a peaceful base for exploring one of the park’s most scenic and less crowded regions. From this entrance, you can easily access the breathtaking landscapes and quiet shorelines of Bowman Lake and Kintla Lake.

Our property is also conveniently located just 12 miles from the Camas Creek Entrance to Glacier National Park. This entrance provides access to the iconic Going-to-the-Sun Road and is typically much less crowded than the West Glacier entrance—helping you avoid the long entry lines often experienced there.

Both GNP access points provide a quieter, more laid-back park experience—perfect for guests looking to enjoy nature at a slower pace. Beginning in 2026, no timed-entry tickets are required at any of the park’s entrance stations, making it even easier to explore during your stay.

Awesome place. Clean. Close to Polebridge park entrance and Home Ranch Bottoms. Code to place was not right. Lady at Home Ranch Bottoms was a gem to help get us into the cabin first night. There was no propane to grill. That was disappointing.

The property is nice. Clean. Good communication with manager. Very remote location and as communicated no cell service… but the view off the back deck is stunning. Pictures don’t do it justice. Quiet. Two fun and rustic restaurants nearby. Exactly as advertised

The Hay Creek cabins are incredibly peaceful and relaxing, with phenomenal views. Mary is a wonderful host and was very responsive with our questions. I would highly recommend these properties!

We came to Polebridge to attend a family function. Our family members have cabins about 3 miles from this cabin so the location was perfect. We were a mile from the Polebridge Mercantile and the Northern Lights Saloon which was super convenient. The 2 bedroom cabin had comfortable beds and adequate kitchen equipment to navigate fixing simple meals. Sitting on the deck viewing the meadow and the mountains on the background soothed one’s soul. Bring your own beach towels if you plan on swimming in many of the mountain lakes. Also, there is no hair dryer. Owner was up front about the absence of WIFI so prepare for that. We had a wonderful visit and would rent from this landlord again.

We had a lovely time! A beautiful, clean cabin with a gorgeous, peaceful view. I highly recommend you stay here if you like the peace and quiet. The downside is that its very far from Logan's Pass and the east side of the park. This makes it hard to get to some of the more desirable parts of the park early enough to get parking for the best hikes. The upside is that it's truly the most peaceful area around the park, and less than an hour to Kalispell airport. That made it SO much easier to get there and back to New Jersey via Delta Airlines. Also, coming from the East Coast time zone, it really was no bother to get up at 5am Mountain Time to make it to the good hikes in time (it was actually 7am after all!). I appreciated the other reviewers commenting on the shower, so that we were prepared for quick showers with lower than normal water pressure, but they were perfectly fine overall! Would stay there again for sure! 3

This is a gem of a cabin nestled on a meadow overlooking the quiet, northwestern edge of Glacier National Park. It is just a minute or two from Polebridge and its delights (Polebridge Mercantile, Northern Lights Saloon) and 10 minutes from the Polebridge entrance to Glacier. But it also provides easy access to all the North Fork area has to offer--hikes, river access, fishing, boating ...etc. The cabin has comfortable beds, a well-provisioned kitchen, and a gorgeous porch for sipping coffee or wine and watch the sunrise/sunset. Mary & Ian are super responsive hosts and made sure we were taken care of while at the cabin. I would definitely stay here again!

View out the big front window is spectacular. Very clean. Bed was comfortable. Solar power was not an issue-we would have not known if it was not in the property description. The unpaved road to Bowman lake was passable for a variety of vehicles but easier in a high-clearance vehicles. Everything at the Polebridge Mercantile was great. Memorable experience all around!

Lovely setting for quiet and enjoying nature. The off-grid set-up was nice to unplug but made it difficult to contact host with a few issues during our stay. Cleanliness and kitchen amenities were average. After a full day of hiking, the water heating system barely supported one 4-5 min shower before turning very cold. Love the log cabin design; the wood is beautiful. The bed was very comfortable! Hiking in Glacier was incredible but we recommend starting early to make sure you are able to find a parking place if you plan to drive your own car to trailheads.

Smooth check in and check out. Property as listed, way out in the North Fork. No phones!! Had slight issue with water but owner who is on site took care of it right away. I would recommend this property for the solitude and the incredible views.
