As with all three of our cabins, Grey Wolf sits on more than 20 acres of pristine forest and meadow. The expansive windows and roomy deck provide an unrivaled view north into Glacier National Park. On clear nights, your deck is also the perfect place to gaze at stars, which, due in part to our sparsely populated valley, are wonderfully bright.

Grey Wolf features two bedrooms, each with a queen bed. There is also a full bathroom, with a combo shower and tub--complete with beautiful tilework. In addition, Grey Wolf offers a fully-equipped kitchen, and a combined dining and living room area with an energy-efficient Jotul wood stove. Logs, which are cut from our own property, are provided. On your deck, there is a large bistro style table and chairs. Log accents abound throughout the cabin.

Our namesake, Hay Creek, runs the course of our southern border. It is home to the endangered bull trout.

Finally, our location is very special. Polebridge, Montana is a small community that offers solitude, beauty, and a bit of local flavor and entertainment at our local venues. Our location and proximity are quite unique.

Nestled just three miles from the North Entrance of Glacier National Park, the Hay Creek Cabins offer a peaceful base for exploring one of the park’s most scenic and less crowded regions. From this entrance, you can easily access the breathtaking landscapes and quiet shorelines of Bowman Lake and Kintla Lake.

Our property is also conveniently located just 12 miles from the Camas Creek Entrance to Glacier National Park. This entrance provides access to the iconic Going-to-the-Sun Road and is typically much less crowded than the West Glacier entrance—helping you avoid the long entry lines often experienced there.

Both GNP access points provide a quieter, more laid-back park experience—perfect for guests looking to enjoy nature at a slower pace. Beginning in 2026, no timed-entry tickets are required at any of the park’s entrance stations, making it even easier to explore during your stay.

We really liked the cabin. It was clean and the views were amazing. Upon leaving the only thing we did not like is that the owner wants the guests to take the trash to a trash drop off spot. The town where the trash drop off is 30 miles away. We had a very early flight when we were leaving. We took the trash to the owner’s desired drop spot and they were closed. Did not open until 8am. When you are paying $300.00 ish per night I wouldn’t think the renter should need to work for the sanitation department.

Polebridge and the Cabins At Hay Creek are special places. We visit each year and also enjoy our time and hate leaving. It’s fantastic.

The cabin was perfect for our needs. Clean and ready to go upon arrival. Mary was there right away to say a quick hello! We enjoyed being off the grid and seeing deer come by every morning and evening

Beautiful view in a remote area. Really felt like getting away from it all.

Communication was excellent, Mary & Ian were very quick to respond. When we pulled into the property, the view took my breath away! Absolutely stunning! The cabin was very clean and comfortable! I would definitely stay there again!!

This log cabin seems relatively new and has a million dollar view of the Livingston Range in Glacier Park. However, the was no running water (only a trickle when we arrived and none when we left a few days later) so we could not wash dishes or bath. Beware that the water system appears to be river water (i.e., non-potable). The cabin is heated by a small and dangerous wood stove: the glass on the door is broken and flammable sap is leaking from the wall behind, where there should be heat-resistant protection. Our toddler took a spill down the stairs because there is no handrail; fortunately, she landed on her feet not head... With no cell or internet connection, there is no way to reach the host about these issues, so we had to make do. Overall, the experience was disappointing.
