Beachfront Cottage on Ambajejus Lake With Sandy Beach and a Mountain View

Loved the house and location but you really NEED to put a notification in the listing that the water from the faucet is not drinkable! It is pumped in from the lake. The only place that I found that told this, was in the booklet about the rules of the house. You did however supply a gallon of water in the frig. Thanks for that! I would have been prepared for no drinkable water if I had known in advance by bringing more water or my backpacking filter! There NEEDS to be a sign by the faucets saying nonpotable water! The house was fantastic, clean, well stocked and with awesome sunsets!! I hope to return again!

We had the most incredible weather here at the beginning of October and practically had the lake to ourselves. Beautiful sunsets and interesting birds too. This rustic camp was perfect for our Northern Maine getaway.

The setting was delightful, the cabin was comfortable, and it served as a good base for our explorations of Baxter State Park.

A lovely spot! The view right from inside the cabin and from the Adirondack chairs closer to the lake is beautiful. The cabin has a nice, slightly rustic feel but with modern appliances. The host has everything neat and tidy, with necessary supplies stocked up and easy to find. The whole place is neat and uncluttered. We enjoyed using the canoe provided to explore some of the islands in the lake. From out on the lake one gets views of Mt Katahdin.

This is a beautiful place in a beautiful setting. The neighbors' views are blocked by trees. The view of the lake through the huge picture windows is amazing. We especially appreciated having a washer & dryer -- no trips to a laundromat! We swam & canoed and every question for the owner was answered promptly.

Clean, well equipped, comfortable cabin on pine-shaded lot with beautiful swimming beach and clean water. Perfect.

Lovely location. Needed to bring drinking water as piped supply is from lake. Enjoyed swimming the clear lake, paddling the canoe, dog walks and nearby hiking [but no dogs in BSP]. In Maine's variable weather we repurposed the table for our jigsaw puzzle. The kitchen/bath are well stocked, and plenty of blankets, etc. too. What a spectacular quiet star-filled sky to enjoy from the sandy beach and dock!!! Thank you.

We had an absolutely fantastic time at this lakefront cabin. The location is unbeatable—right on the water with stunning sunsets every evening and just minutes from the Golden Road crossing, giving us easy access to all the outdoor adventure we were looking for.The cabin itself was cozy, comfortable, and beautifully appointed—everything we needed for a relaxing stay was right at our fingertips. My boys and our golden retriever had the time of their lives swimming, exploring, and just soaking up the peace and quiet of the Maine wilderness.This place truly felt like a home away from home, and we’re already looking forward to our next visit—planning to stay even longer next time!

Our 5th year spending a week here. As always, everything was perfect. Watching the grandkids swimming, fishing and having a blast. Hiking BSP. Just a great time every year.

The weather cooperated and we thoroughly enjoyed relaxing on the beach and swimming in the lake. The cabin is well-appointed, so we didn't need to bring anything but food and drinks.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the same camp we stayed at three years ago. The hosts are top notch in terms of responsiveness. The beach and location are fantastic. We hope to return!

The cabin is well equipped and the siting is perfect. It is exactly the correct combination of comfort and simplicity which we desire.

This was just what we were looking for. Just enough to be comfortable. Cabin was well appointed with anything you could need. Very peaceful and quiet. There is something about a dirt road where everyone waves at each other that brings life back into focus. Tons of hiking and kayaking. Also did about 50 miles of bike riding. Only negative was mosquitoes but they weren’t constant. Didn’t even use a full bottle of bug spray over a week. Will be back again.
