Balsam Mountain Cabin with waterfalls and a great year round view

The view from the cabin is amazingly beautiful! Roomy and baths

The road to get to the property is misleading. It is a 1 lane dirt road. That is not explained in any type of detail. That one side is a cliff in many spots. This is very unacceptable. You have absolutely no way to get out of the way of another vehicle coming from the opposite direction. Small area to park and turning around to get out of driveway was tight. We did not stay at this home for the fear of the road. The outside was not well taken care of it was overgrown and full of bees. Unfortunately I am allergic to bees, but this itself was not the most pressing concern. We called VRBO immediately upon arrival to express our concerns about safety and travel to and from property. As we were not going to stay for even 1 night. There is no trail. It was maybe 50 feet. And the waterfall was nothing that you could visit and enjoy. The host was gracious enough to refund a partial amount. As they are not required to refund any payments. Lesson learned, look more closely at where cabins are located and read and ask questions before booking anything.

What a fantastic way to spend Thanksgiving...cabin was perfect for our needs...the view spectacular...location ideal..road up the mountain..fantastic..all topped off by our very own waterfall..Crawford..the homeowner so friendly and accomadating!..will be back this way again soon...thanks for the hospitality!

Clean, cozy cabin.

Beautiful clean cabin, gorgeous view. I would give it five stars, but the water lines were frozen the first night we were there. Wasn't a big deal, we figured it out, and the cabin owner offered to let us stay at another time to make up for it.

The host was very helpful, not that we needed them because everything was perfect. When we had questions they were very helpful and answered in a timely manner. Beautiful cabin and view. The little touches made it feel more like home.

Very good south view of mountains, allowing for sunrise and sunset effects to be noticed. Cabin was very secluded, with the sound of a waterfall just a few hundred yards away.

Fabulous views and cozy livability

We loved this cabin!! You can hear the waterfall while you look at the mountains relaxing on the balcony, enjoying the COOL breeze in July!!! And falling asleep to hearing the waterfall is a bonus! Sylva is a cute town, and we were able to go visit four waterfalls easily in a day, an hour’s drive. Asheville is also close. Highly recommend

Spent an enjoyable week at Balsam Mountain Cabin. Awesome view along with the sweet sound of cascading water. Location convenient to the Blue Ridge Parkway, Sylva, & Waynesville/Asheville. Great communication with the owner & property manager. Will come back when get a chance!

This was our second visit to this beautiful home, and it was as comfy and relaxing as we remembered. The view from the porch is beautiful, at all hours of the day and night. We spend most of our time just being. Reading, painting, listening to music, taking in the view. So peaceful. Our visit was exactly what we needed. Thank you!

We enjoyed sitting on the deck and watching the clouds over the mountains. No true sunset, but the view was pretty. Overall, it is a relaxing and quiet place for a couple.
