Mammoth Cave, Kentucky
Amish built 2 bedroom cabin located in a rural wooded setting. Handicap accessible. Sleep loft with 2 twin beds, children love climbing the ladder to their own space. The cabin is 7 miles from the Mammoth Cave National Park visitors center taking the Green River Ferry. Located on our property is an 18-hole disc golf course designed by John Houck with a pro shop.
There are many outdoor activities in the immediate area, including disc golf (on the property). hiking in Mammoth Cave National Park (4 miles to trailheads), horseback riding (next door), kayaking, ball golf (2 miles), ATV park (2 miles), beach (Nolin Lake State Park 5 miles), fishing, and boating.
This cabin worked out perfectly for what we were looking for. Nice quiet, plenty of room and clean. We would do this again.
We can't wait to go back. The property was peaceful and beautiful. Our whole family fell in love.
Just what we were looking for
An amazing short weekend getaway while visiting Mammoth Cave. Frank was very helpful with everything while being quick to respond. We will be returning to The Hickory Cabins for their disc golf course and the great food right around the corner. Wifi was great because the service was definitely spotty. All in all I felt secluded in the serenity of nature and could see the stars. ? Thanks for a great stay Frank!
We really enjoyed our and our visit to Mammoth Cave. The cabin was very nice with plenty of room and conveniences. If I had a question the owner responded within minutes.
Great wooded atmosphere. Probably needs a little love. All in all it was a great stay.
Enjoyed the Disc golf course
My wife and children really enjoyed the cabin and their visit to the area altogether.
Love the location.
Loved: Beautiful wood cabin deep in the woods. Unbelievable star-filled skies. Friendly owner
Despite the power being out due to massive windstorm, the cabin was nice and the owner was very easy to work with.
The disc golf was the highlight for us. The kids were comfortable in the cabin and we enjoyed the location and ability to hike nearby.
This attractive, cozy cabin is located close to Mammoth Cave. We enjoyed walking the property near sunset and playing games in the cabin before bed. It was an excellent place to relax after long days hiking and exploring in the caves. Frank was very helpful shared several tips. The entire vacation was very pleasant.
Excellent location and very clean. Great place for just a couple or your family.
Had a nice stay...mostly clean accept for the bathroom...mold in shower area...had to clean the shower head with toothbrush. Everything else was nice.
We had a great stay at this adorable cabin. I texted the owner a note about the item that needs cleaned.
Frank provides a nice cabin in a secluded, wooded area. There is a nice deck with seating for four people, a picnic table and a nice fire pit. The cabin was very clean and the couches and chairs were very comfortable. Our only problem was with the beds, which are very creaky and noisy. Anytime my GF or I would move even a little bit, the bed would creak and squeak so loudly that it would wake the other one of us up. That made it a bit difficult to get a good night's sleep. Be aware that the Green River ferry now closes at 6:00 p.m. so if you miss the ferry then you have to take the long ride through Brownsville which takes about 40 minutes from Mammoth Cave visitor Center. The closest grocery store to the cabin is the Dollar general marketplace in Brownsville, about 20 minutes away.
Close to caverns when we took the ferry
