Mammoth Cave, Kentucky
Make memories at this unique farm stay. A charming, rustic get away for the end of the trail.
You'll enjoy 3 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, kitchen, and a cozy wood stove for the extra cold days. Mini split a/c + heat in main area. . Friendly farm animals include goats, chickens, horses, & cats. We are happy to arrange a tour during your stay where you can feed treats and interact with the horses, goats, and maybe even chickens. Located about 800 feet from Mammoth Cave's Lincoln Trailhead, you're able to bring your own horses to keep at our barn.
Despite thorough cleanings, there is a possibility for bugs, because we currently use natural pest solutions in order for our farm to support pollinators.
***This cabin shares a roof with the campground’s bathrooms. They have exterior only entrances, but there are shared walls just as you’d find at a hotel etc. Local favorites:
The obvious thing to do is visit Mammoth Cave National Park! Lots of hiking in park as close as 800 feet from the campground. Horses are welcome at our campground, we provide stalls and the MCNP trail across the road is horse friendly. There are several tours to choose from if you’re, you may want to choose a couple. We recommend getting tickets in advance as they do sell out. (Visitor center 20-25 minutes via Green River Ferry route, 40 minutes without ferry)
Trail rides are provided at Double J Stables. (5 minutes) Advance reservation recommended.
Nearby there is Hickory Cabins, it’s more fast food type, and only couple couple minutes away. Open for the season April -November, The Blue Holler Restaurant serves up German and American fare. Bee spring has KY Rock grill. Bouys at Wax Marina is a fun lake view experience
The Feedmill in Leitchfield (35 min) has good breakfast & lunch & there’s a Mexican restaurant, mi Camino Real, that’s good in that area too. There’s also a Peddler’s Mall in Leitchfield if that interests you.
In Bowling Green (50-55 min) there’s the corvette museum & lost river cave tour if you’re looking for more to do.
Cave city (across the ferry 25 min) has tourist friendly activities including various caves that have been open since the early 1900s. Kayaking tours available down Green River. There are attractions such as Dinosaur World, Kentucky Down Under, & Mammoth Cave Adventure. A favorite stop for me is Leo’s woodworking as you exit the park toward cave city.
I recently went to a cave tour in Horse Cave called hidden river cave (40 min) which was kinda neat. They have antique shops nearby in the little downtown.
10-15 minutes away is an Amish town called Cub Run. They have a couple shops, the Variety Shoppe & Detweilers, which has a small bakery and deli and everything from gardening to furniture. There is a separate hunting & fishing store.
Nice people. Clean accommodations.
We loved our time here! Such a cute, cozy, clean cabin with so many extra wonderful touches. The owners obviously care about their guests comfort and it really made us feel welcome. The kids (and adults!) loved getting to know the animals and we really felt like we got away from it all! We went to Mammoth Cave twice and would recommend that as well.
If you’re looking for something peaceful on a farm, this is it. The cabin is clean and has everything you need and comfortably sleeps six. You are immediately greeted by goats and horses, which are about 20 yards from your back door. Sunsets are beautiful. Kristen is very nice and easy to work with and I would definitely consider this place again.
Great location, if the ferry is open its a 10 minute drive to Mammoth cave. Owners were very nice and responsive. We loved the firepits and peaceful countryside. The cabin we stayed in had a great kitchen and laundry access. We will certainly come back to explore more around Mammoth cave.
this day was awesome. I like that it was on a farm. I like that the boys are able to go outside and play. I like that there were other people around either camping or staying in other little cottage lake houses I love that you guys are so friendly. It was awesome. I loved that. The place was so homey that there was so much extra stuff as far towels blankets it was just awesome is really nice.
The house is everything you could want for a great peaceful getaway! It is extremely clean and comfortable, I don’t have anything but great things to say about the property and the property owner! When we got back one night the batteries had died in the lock, I sent a message through the app to the property owner and she was quick to respond, not only did she respond quickly she was there in no time to fix the issue. It was a small issue but she treated it with urgency and sympathy. She fixed the door quickly and was gone right after, customer service was great, total experience was 5 stars and will be going back!
We had a great weekend getaway to Noble Pines and Mammoth Cave National Park! The cabin was clean and stocked well. The owner was very friendly, we even got to feed the goats and horses some treats!
Great location for a nice and quiet getaway. It was nice to sit by the fire and watch the sunset over the hills and relax. The hosts were awesome and very accommodating, we even got to give treats to the goats and horses.
We had a nice quiet stay as is what we wanted
The location was close to Mammoth Cave. (20 minutes with ferry). We loved meeting the goats, horses, and chickens. We had a lovely campfire. The host was very kind and gave us a great tour where we got to feed the animals.
My mom, my daughter and I came down for a girls trip. The cabin was perfect for us with three bedrooms. We all enjoyed it very much. The farm is beautiful and being near the animals was fun, it’s close to the National park and convenient to hiking trails. Unfortunately we were hit with a pretty intense storm but the owners were very helpful and checked on us frequently. Hopefully we can come back for a little less exciting trip because we’d love to be able to stay here again! Highly recommend!
We loved our stay, very clean, everything you could ask for and more. Owners went above and beyond!
THE BEST!!! The house was spotless, immaculate and well stocked. The property is on a beautiful farm, and the owner was just fabulous and super accomdating. She let us help her feed her goats and horses, which was such a super fun experience for us city folks. In addition we got such a kick out her goats, they had such fun personalities. The location of the property was extremely close to the Mammoth Cave visitor center and our tour of the cave. I cant wait to come back. Thanks Kristen for an amazing experience!!
