La Terrazza di Marta

We had the best stay in Varenna at La terrazza di Marta. This apartment was in a central location easy to access restaurants, markets, the train and ferry. The view from the roof desk was amazing over looking the entire lake. The team at Varenna holidays was also great they booked us airport transport and offered a variety of suggestions on activities/tips throughout our stay. Highly recommend booking through Varenna Holidays!

Loved the apartment especially the terrace. Very comfortable, really appreciated the washer dryer as well. The terrace was lovely for taking a break and the view was unbeatable. There’s some ants & other bugs around the apartment, not a big deal but it would be nice to have some plastic baggies or container to put food in to keep the ants away!

We loved our stay. The location was very central, clean and cozy. The rooftop terras is the best. We could leave our luggage on the day we left. Very recommended and we will hopefully come back to Varenna. We came on a rainy day and would have liked the host to show us the apartment or at least help with the keys, it was a bit of a struggle to get the luggage, baby and keys all in order, but other than that it was a great stay.

Apartment was very clean & functional equipped with everything we needed for our stay. Washer/dryer, second bathroom, and space were particularly appreciated. We had been staying in small hotel rooms until Varenna. Steps are well worth the apt & terrace view and overall not bad at all (mid 30s couple). Only regret was buying the welcome package-only thing we needed from it was the laundry detergent. Save the 50euro unless staying for a week+. Church bell rings every morning at 6am. Overall very comfortable, modernized stay with exceptional views. Varenna was relaxing, exploratory, and the food was great. Be sure to hike to the castle & waterfall! Also explore the botanical garden. Thank you for hosting us!

Great detailed notes with directions on how to get there. Check in process was easy. The place was clean and comfortable. The views on the roof were outstanding. The good views mean a ton of stairs, but worth it! The air took a while to cool the place off due to the heat wave but eventually it worked and it was very comfortable and cool.

All the steps to get to this apartment, are worth it when you see the view. The apartment is so close to the market and square. We enjoyed having 2 bathrooms so we could each have own space. We were able to relax and rest in this sweet little space. The staff at Varenna Holidays were easy to work with and responded to my questions concerns quickly.

Fabulous views from the big well furnished terrace, great helpful and fast service, two great showers, good air con, great location and mod cons like electric windows. A welcome basket or some basic provisions would be very welcome. We arrived late and the only two shops in town were closed, so nowhere to buy some wine to have on the terrace our first night. A coffee machine but no filters, and neither of the two places in town sell coffee filters, so no point having the coffee machine as we had no car and only there a few days, so unable to travel further afield for this. Some dishwasher tablets should have been provided as well, as again we're not going to travel to buy these when only there a few days. Both the bed and sofa were uncomfortable, for such a stunning apartment I think a few upgrades/minor changes are needed to make this place truly five star! I also think the 50€ late check out/check-in fee is too high and should be made clearer at the time of booking, and also would be nice to offer free left luggage for guests on check out, which is very early at 10am. However the tourist office offered to hold our luggage for free which was amazing. Overall had the most wonderful time in Varenna though, so thank you!

Apartment was clean and everything worked well. It would have been nice if someone had been available in the office when we checked out, but no one was there (9:30 AM on a Tuesday morning).

Location was great! We really enjoyed our stay in Varenna! The bedroom was very plain! I think if you added a little color it would cozy it up. It felt like a hospital room! Also it would have been nice to have a couple of bottles of water in the fridge for people arriving. ( without a fee). We got there on a very hot day!

Location was perfect! Francesca was very helpful in arranging a taxi for us from train station and back to the airport! The only negative to the apartment is the very low ceilings ! The pictures don’t really show this.
