Casa Al Prato Apt. A, Varenna, Italy

Directions to the apartment were wrong. Had to call the property management company and even then, they did not know how to access the apartment. Needs to be addressed for future guests. Also, and most important, during the 3 night stay, there was no hot water for showers. The property management company said they fixed it when we complained, but it never got warm. Guests should not have to endure this.

I have nothing but GOOD to say at all about our stay here while we were vacationing in Italy. I’ll point out what I’d say are obvious to most stays in Italy, just because I think it’s good information for Americans like us. A lot of people on these apps leave negative feedback for these reasons, but just know that we’re in Italy and these factors are just about everywhere here. 1) there are steps to get to your room, sometimes a lot of them. At the actual apartment, there are only a couple steps, I wouldn’t even call them stairs. Plenty of stairs before you get there though. 2) the showers are small! I’m 6’4” and 240lbs… I fit, but it’s not like home, lol. Okay now that that’s over with, here’s the positive aspects of this place. 1. Location, location, location!!! Easy walk to anywhere. 10 minutes with luggage from the train. Food right underneath you (make a reservation). Food along the water, nearly the entire way to the ferry stop… which is about a 10 minute walk. Make the hike up to the castle, the views are worth it! 2. Washing machine. This was huge for us as it was the halfway stop of our 17 day vacation. There’s even a great clothes rack in the closet to help drying. NOTE: NO AC! We didn’t need it, the fans worked great, but just beware in case you’re coming when it’s hotter. Stay here, you won’t be disappointed!!!

There was no internet for two days. I called the office four times and was told that I didn’t know how to sign on. The third day they sent someone out who rebooted the router, which was in another unit. The TV never worked. Perhaps I don’t know how to turn on a TV either.

Apartment was very nice, in a great location, clean and comfortable. There was a welcome box with wine and breakfast items for us which was very much appreciated. Would definitely stay here again

Not really a view of the lake as advertised. Unit sits above the best restaurant in Varenna.

Our stay would’ve been great if it wasn’t for the property management. We let them know the first day we got there that we had no hot water at all and that we could not get on the Wi-Fi that the password was not working. The management never contacted us even though we sent multiple messages to the after hours and three days later we got a text saying that the information for the password for the Wi-Fi was incorrect so they gave us the correct one, but we never got warm water we had cold showers for three days. Reached out seven or eight times for the manager to call me to make this right and it never gotten a response.. would love to have given this place the highest rating because of the location is great and it’s a beautiful place but the management I’ve never seen worse

Great apartment in the perfect location. Very short walk to waterfront, piazzas, and restaurants but still very quiet in the evenings and early mornings. Apartment was spacious and had everything we needed. We were comfortable with fans and windows open at night but it would be very warm in the summer. Varenna is a beautiful area!

Comfortable clean convenient

Apartment was well positioned and directions were excellent. Sadly the key safe didn’t work and we needed to wait for someone to come and fix it before we could get in. Overall the property was ok but some things were old and tired and information such as about the WiFi was out of date. With a refresh it could be great. It is worth noting that there is no air conditioning.

Perfect place. Great views. Apartment was clean and had everything we needed. We even did some laundry. Make sure you eat at the Al Prato Restaurant, too. We Will definitely stay here again. In our opinion, the best location to base out of on Lake Como.

Centrally located. HoweverNo wifi for the entire 6 nights we were there. Lots of excuses, but no action and promises of compensation came to nothing.No provsions of basic items apart from detergent. One roll of cheap toilet paper for 6 nights! More was provided after complaining. No coffee, pods, sugar or anything basic. Not even a plug for the sink. Kitchen was basic with no bench space and one power point to run microwave, kettle, toaster and the coffee percolator (no coffee anyway)Every morning from 6 am the noise started. Trucks and service deliveries to the restaurants in the area, municipal workers collecting rubbish and chatting at the top of their voices. Leaf blowers. People dragging their baggage over cobblestones as they leave. At night we had to endure al the noise from revellers at nearby restaurants, which mostly stopped by 10pm. This was part of an extended Europe holiday. We have been to 5 cities so far. This was our worst experience and we have given 4 or 5 stars at other places. We paid a lot of money for this accommodation and it was not worth it. This apartment is run by a property manager. So any personal touch or interaction is nil. Lake Como and Varenna are beautiful. Just don’t stay here if you want peace and quiet and some basic comforts and amenities, like wifi.

Great stay, perfect location. All amenities were as advertised. The wine and snacks when we arrived was a nice treat. I couldn't access the wifi, but I am sure if I had taken the time to inquire, it would have been resolved. We were busy with family, as we were visiting for a weddingg.

We loved the location and the apartment. Only a couple of problems: the shower door was broken, and the bedroom closet smelled a little because there was a stained pillow in there. We still would recommend.

After spending a few days at Lake Como, I feel like Varenna is the best option for a central location to everything you would want in a Como getaway. In addition, this apartment is perfect for getting around Varenna. Just minutes from the

Our stay in this lovely apartment in Varenna situated over a little Italian restaurant was absolutely perfect! Super charming with an absolutely stunning view of Lake Como from the living room and bathroom windows. It was very well equipped with anything we needed for our stay. We loved the entire experience!

This place is great! It’s right in the center of town and close to everything in Varenna. It looks out into a beautiful piazza and you can also partly see the lake and mountains from the windows. There is also a shared outside area where you can see the lake a bit better. We would definitely go back!

Great location with easy access to the waterfront and walking distance to a wide variety of restaurants.
