The Clear Creek Group : Shooting Star Cabin 01 : Shooting Star / Teton Village

Teton Village, Wyoming, United States

**Minimum Night Stay Requirements May Vary and Final Availability is Subject to Homeowner Approval**brbrShooting Star Cabin 1 is a beauty of a Jackson Hole vacation rental: substantial, welcoming and full of light, its rustic barn board siding and log-and-mortar walls harking back to old Wyoming while inside all is comfort and joy, with luxury appliances and a state-of-the-art sound system. The peaked, shingled roofline echoes the mountains that surge against the sky for miles upon miles; velvet lawn and native plantings apron the property. When the tall mullioned windows are open, Cabin 1 fills up with sweet, dry mountain air.brbrThe front door swings open to the cabin-like foyer; steps beyond, creamy walls and bleached wood amplify the wonderful natural light of Cabin 1. The house seems to float on sunlight. An airy, wide open Great Room crowns the top of the house, and vast wilderness vistas roll away from every window. The kitchen, dining and living areas share this big, bright space, while a distributed audio system saturates the room with music, movie soundtracks, or the morning news - whatever you choose. The long wood dining table, overhung by a circular chandelier with Edison bulbs, stands between the fire lit living room and the luxury kitchen. It is a wonderful place to celebrate, especially when snow is falling silently outside the windows. A magic feeling of expectation for the new day begins to gather: a world of white, fresh painted.brbrIn the kitchen, a center island with prep sink is bracketed by a fabulous, six-burner Wolf range at one end and a counter/breakfast bar at the other. The kitchen has a walk-in pantry, a huge refrigeration system and a wine cooler. The Great Room is the heart of the house; wrapped in windows and anchored by a wood-burning fireplace set in a wall of Wyoming stone. A huge flat screen TV is mounted above the fireplace; below is a wide stone ledge that radiates warmth. Welcoming sofas and armchairs are grouped around a wide coffee table; firelight dances over the walls.brbrLike the Great Room, the master bedroom sits at the top of the house, beams spanning the high ceiling. Huge picture windows frame the Tetons. The soft, snowy king bed faces a wide stone fireplace – gas fired – and a big flat screen TV above it. A pair of chairs wait in an alcove, the perfect quiet place for morning coffee, and the floor is carpeted in soft ivory wool. A walk-in closet offers ample clothes storage. Just off the master bedroom is the sumptuous master bath, paneled in painted wood. There are double sinks, a soaking tub, a separate shower roomy enough for two, and a water closet - not to mention grandstanding views of the valley.brbrThe ground floor of Cabin 1 has a delightful, four-berth bunkroom where the young at heart will feel very much at home. A dresser and drawers built in beneath the beds provide plenty of space for unpacking. Next door is an airy, deeply comfortable guest room with an upholstered queen bed and a private bath. And, at the end of the house, a second master – rounding out the full complement of bedrooms for this classic Wyoming luxury rental home.brbrWindows in the downstairs master look out in all directions; from the king size bed you can gaze straight up the ski slopes and plot out the next day’s routes. A handsome gas fireplace and a flat screen TV face the bed, and a velvet armchair accompanied by a brass reading lamp stands beside another window. This big, inviting bedroom has a private bath as well, with double sinks and a bath/shower combination.brbrCabin 1 sits comfortably amongst pines and native grasses. The wide stone terrace is the happiest of blessings in the warm months, with its staggering panorama of ranchland, Tetons and the majestic Snake River Range. Here you can nap or read on the outdoor couch, soak in the hot tub, track the cherry-red tram as it soars up and down the mountainside, cook locally raised beef on the gas grill and tip your glass to the star spangled sky.

Antique park memorabilia decorates the walls.brbrThe second floor landing allows for a working interlude with a long built-in desk and two leather office chairs.brbrThe upstairs guest bedrooms take color cues from showcased works of art: A vintage Art Deco print gives the second guest bedroom a yellow hue, while a botanical print creates a seafoam palette in the fourth bedroom. A bronze moose lamp illuminates the space, and the ensuite bath offers a granite vanity and shower.brbrThe second bedroom, with the aforementioned French print, is anchored around the queen bed wrapped in plush linens. Teton Village, Wyoming, United States

**Minimum Night Stay Requirements May Vary and Final Availability is Subject to Homeowner Approval.**brbrFrom the outside, this beautiful home looks a lot like its neighbors: rustic, but in a sophisticated, modern way. Inside though, local interior designer Jacque Jenkins-Stireman has created a one-of-a-kind space equally suited to hanging out and entertaining. She’s combined influences as diverse as Kit Kemp—the designer behind hot London properties like the Covent Garden and Charlotte Street Hotels and New York’s Crosby Street Hotel—and traditional Western heritage with contemporary fine art, chic custom furniture, and antique finds. “This isn’t just a cookie-cutter place to stay at night, but a property with a personality,” says Jenkins-Stireman. “It’s a home that will come to feature in the memories of your vacation here.”brbrFour Pines 14’s personality is apparent as soon as you walk in the front door. A hallway lined with art pulls you past a powder room and into a combined kitchen/dining/living room with a wall of west-facing windows, a wood-burning fireplace, artwork from local galleries, high-ceilinged barn wood ceilings, colorful accents, and a professional, open kitchen with a Wolf range and oven. French doors off the dining area open to an expansive patio. Whether grilling or soaking in the hot tub, from the patio you can watch the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort tram shuttling skiers and sightseers up and down Rendezvous Mountain. (JHMR’s base area is a short shuttle ride or walk away, although we don’t recommend the latter in ski boots!)brbrAlso on the first floor are a media room and the master suite. Local architect Logan Leachman, of JLF & Associates, designed the home such that the latter is extremely private: It’s in its own wing. The master suite, which has a gas burning fireplace, is also bright with sunshine—even in its bathroom. Enjoy Jackson Hole’s 300+ days of annual sunshine from a seating area in the bedroom or while lounging in the deep soaking tub in the bathroom. The window adjacent to the bathtub has some of the best views of JHMR and the southern Tetons in the valley.brbrFour Pines 14’s four guest bedrooms, all of which have private bathrooms, are on the second floor. The north side of the home has two bedrooms—a junior master suite with a king bed and a guest room with two twin beds that can be converted into a single king-size bed. These can be accessed by a private entrance near the garage. (They can also be accessed from the main entrance.) Aside from having their own private entrance, a shared wet bar allows these bedrooms a degree of autonomy from the rest of the house.brbrTwo more bedrooms are in the home’s south wing. Ascending the main stairs to the second floor, a spacious landing greets you. Shelves here are stocked with board games from Yahtzee to Monopoly and Scrabble. Or settle into one of the chairs tucked into the corner here with one of the many books happily scattered throughout the home. Four Pines 14’s library ranges from style and design titles from Assouline to classic mountain literature like Jon Krakauer’s Into Thin Air.brbrA bedroom suite immediately off the landing has two twin beds. Directly above the master suite is a guest bedroom with a king-size bed. A leather bench beneath a west-facing window is the perfect place to sit with a book in the evening.brbrShooting Star is home to Jackson Hole’s most in-demand addresses. Four Pines homes are within walking distance of the shopping and dining in the base area of the Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, a few short miles from the entrance of Grand Teton National Park. A ski shuttle to the slopes is available during ski season. A maintained bike pathway connects Shooting Star to the towns of Wilson and Jackson.

Mountain-modern lodge at the base of Jackson Hole

Teton Village, Wyoming, United States

**Minimum Night Stay Requirements May Vary and Final Availability is Subject to Homeowner Approval.**brbrPatterns play within the barnwood walls of this contemporary cabin, a chic counterpoint to the panorama that waits outside its picture windows. The Lodge sits on a prime site within Shooting Star, a luxury development within walking distance (or a short shuttle ride) of Jackson Hole Mountain Resort.brbrDesigned by renowned local architect John Carney, the Lodge reimagines the western barn as a soaring great room framed in timbers. A two-story stone fireplace vies with the vista for focal point. An elk mount presides over the living space from its perch above the mantle, diverting attention away from the covert TV (tucked behind a barnwood panel). A roomy sectional – plush with patterned pillows – faces the fireplace and hugs a live-edge wood coffee table. An octagonal chandelier dangles gracefully above the great room, while animal-print drapes lend an unexpected touch.brbrJutting off the living area, the gourmet kitchen features every trapping imaginable from the Wolf stove and stainless steel appliances to granite countertops and a wide island. Barstools – upholstered in cowhide and plaid – create a perch for culinary spectating, and schoolhouse pendants add a modern element.brbrWithin the great room, two different areas serve as venues for the vittles prepared nearby. A sleek square dining table, ringed in upholstered armchairs, welcomes formal affairs while an intimate breakfast nook – accented by a howling (stuffed) coyote – provides a more casual setting for eating, with its two chairs and plaid banquette.brbrGlass doors open onto the terrace, where woven couches invite lounging around the fire pit. Adding to the warmth, a hot tub encourages soaking, while a gas grill makes outdoor cooking a must. Whatever diversion is selected, the terrace offers prime panoramic scenery.brbrReturn indoors to find a guest suite, linked to the great room, with a king sleigh bed topped by an equine triptych and flanked by a studded wood side table. Architect’s lamps provide reading light, while a floating pendant adds warm illumination. Mirroring the pattern play employed throughout the house, a fur throw folds over the bedspread in contrast to the damask drapes. The ensuite bathroom boasts a double vanity, shower and tub. The back hall offers functionality with a laundry room, powder room and the attached, immaculate two-car garage – sheathed in barn doors and outfitted with a commercial-grade boot and glove dryer. Rounding out the first-floor amenities, the functional foyer presents a place to disrobe amid chic accoutrements including studded fabric wall covering, a spiked metal mirror, striped rug and barnwood credenza.brbrThe second floor beckons with two more bedrooms and a versatile media room. The master bedroom boasts panoramic views of the Gros Ventre Range from the king canopy bed. A modern desk enables work. An upholstered chaise lounge, tucked beside the gas fireplace, creates the perfect reading nook (beneath the mounted flat-screen TV). Exposed beams cap the elegant suite.
