The beach area is very suitable for swimming, and launching small sail boats, kayaks or stand up paddle boards. A boat ramp at 3 Mile Bay is close-by for launching larger boats, and the Lions Walk/bike way can take you all the way back to Taupo township.brThe rainbow point shops, the Landing, with ten pin bowling, mini golf, bar and cafe, two mile bay Sailing Club are all within walking distance making it a perfect location to enjoy the peace and quiet of old Wharewaka with the added bonus of being able to get out and about if you feel the need.
