The villa is located on two acres off beautiful rain forest and has many large majestic trees including cedars, mahoganies, mangos,mayflowers, breadfruit and many species of palms. The property also contains a wide variety of botanical plants and fruiting bushes and trees which attract all kinds of birds and other wildlife.brbrThe air conditioned villa is designed to allow ultimate viewing off the natural beauty of the surroundings. The vaulted living and dining rooms have large windows facing one of the greatest river views in belize. The modern kitchen has a 10 foot panorama window which over looks a very large mahogany tree and several fruit bering trees which attract hundreds of birds to them daily. In front off the house there is a large tiled patio and a second, screened and covered, one to the side of the living room. There are two large vaulted bedrooms with king and queen beds and two washrooms complete with oversized showers.brbrThere is a dock on the river that is great for fishing off and a great spot to watch the sun set. In the winter months the river can be so smooth you can hardly tell where the River ends and the sky begins. There is a fishing rod for your use in the villa. Our sea front home is located in the south part of the very quaint, friendly and safe Garifuna fishing village of Hopkins. It has excellent views of the sea, sunrises and the Cayes from the 300 sq ft balcony.brbrDuring the week, the village tends to be fairly quiet ( except for the occasional rooster!) while on weekends the the area comes alive with music and activity.brbrThe house has an open design, with vaulted, cathedral, tropical hardwood ceilings and large windows to maximize the Caribbean Sea breeze. Both bedrooms have split air conditioner units. With one queen bed, two twin beds ( which can be converted to a king bed) and a full futon in the living room, Casita Del Mar will comfortably sleep five-six people. Ceiling fans in each bedroom and two in the main living space give you alternatives for air flow. brbrA multi-filter system provides drinking water to both kitchen and bathroom allowing our guests easy access to unlimited fresh water.brbrThere is a safe in the house where you can keep small valuables and documents so that you can relax worry-free on the beach.brbrOur one neighbour is away working in the States most of the time while the other is a friendly, elder woman of the village who keeps to herself but always has a moment to wave or say hello.brbrA short walk will get you to local grocery stores and a variety of restaurants. This 5 Bedroom, 4 bath home , is ideally located south of the village of Hopkins in the resort district. A private pool overlooks the beautiful Caribbean sea and has a swim up palapa bar and outdoor shower. The 4 master bedrooms have private baths, walk-in showers and granite countertops, along with king size beds and flat screen TV's. The loft is appointed with a den area with a big screen TV and 3 additional queen beds. Every room has air conditioning, including the great room and upstairs loft. There are two large covered patios, one on the pool level and one on the main floor for exquisite views of the sea. The house includes two full time caretakers to keep the grounds outside and daily housekeeping. A PADI dive shop is located a few properties to the north. Jungle tours, Ruin tours, Fly Fishing, Offshore Fishing abound in the area and numerous restaurants/bars are within walking distance of the house. We can help guide you to the most reputable places and services in the area. There are golf carts for rent from several providers in close proximity to the house. If you should choose, there is a local chef/cook available for hire on a daily basis for meals. There are many grocery stores for shopping in the downtown area of Hopkins.
