Wells is England's smallest City lying at the foot of the Mendip Hills. The City centre is well known for its bustling High Street and Market Place, where there is a produce market on Wednesday's and Saturday's. There are a number of good pubs within walking distance of the house, such as The Fountain Inn, Britannia Pub, Fosso Lounge and The Globe Inn. Goodfellows is another brilliant eatery serving fresh seafood, and there are also some lovely cafes in the town centre. We recommend trying Twentyone as well as Loaf.brbrFrom the house, you can reach the Mendip Hills in under 15 minutes. Cheddar Gorge is a must-see, providing beautiful walks with views over Somerset and beyond as well as a number of pretty cafes. Stockhill Wood is another of our favourite spots for a walk, and is just a nine minute drive from the property. The vibrant cities of Bristol and Bath are also just a short drive or bus ride away.brbrGetting Around:brDue to the property's central location, it is possible to walk to the centre of town and most of the local amenities. That said, if you do wish to drive, there is a private parking space for one vehicle as well as plenty of on-street parking on North Street and Lewmond Avenue.brbrOther Things to Note:brWe do not host guests who are here to party, or on stag/hens. This romantic room is in our Grade II listed Farmhouse and features Georgian casement windows overlooking the garden.brbr*** Due to Covid this room is ONLY bookable if you are fully vaccinated against Covid as we have a vulnerable family member in our household.***brbrThis room is the only accommodation we now offer in the Farmhouse itself and is on the first floor. It is a lovely light and spacious room, decorated in calming blues and white with an extremely comfortable four poster bed. If you want to watch a bit of TV you can do so on the 32 inch flat screen TV/DVD player, two comfy chairs provided. Convenient low level touch lighting is right on your bedside table for those who prefer a good book instead! A complementary beverage tray is provided.brbrThe en-suite is spacious (1 step up) and is the only en-suite we offer that has both bath and a large walk in shower. The double basin is a nice little touch with decorative lighting, and WC. We provide premium toiletries for your use whilst you are here.brbrDogs are NOT permitted in this room.brbrGoing forward we have looked closely at how we will be running the B&B. From a Covid point of view, most guests still prefer us to not go into their rooms during their stay.
