Lauretana House & Cottage -Grand Homestead w/ Multiple Entertaining Areas, Pool, Moments from Bowral

Burradoo, New South Wales, Australia

Behind imposing gates Lauretana House & Cottage can be found positioned in a Burradoo garden estate only 5 minutes’ drive from Bowral town centre. The quintessential Southern Highlands estate, Lauretana home features a large solar-heated swimming pool, perfectly manicured gardens, air conditioning and heating throughout as well as a roaring fireplace in the homestead. Visiting friends and family for an overdue getaway, weddings or just wanting to bring the family together, we welcome you.brbrWe are a company that does a lot of travelling so our best means of contact would be either through the app or please email us and my Team will respond as soon as possible!brbrBurradoo is the suburb next to Bowral. It is located approximately 102kms from the capital Sydney and the perfect hub to spend your next trip in the Southern Highlands.brbrFrom the Bradfield Museum to trawling for books and antiques and sipping great coffee, Burradoo and Bowral are some of the Southern Highlands best regions.brbrIn the heart of NSW’s Southern Highlands, just 90 minutes by car from both Sydney and Canberra, Burradoo is a destination for all seasons: from spring blooms to autumn foliage and from croquet on the lawn on a summer’s day to sipping wine by a log fire in winter. And that’s not to mention the cafe culture, sporting history and retail therapy you’ll find on any day of the year. Here, our pick of things to do when you’re in town.brbrA hands-down highlight of any trip to Bowral is browsing its town centre and dipping into its hip cafes for your caffeine fix.brbrMake a beeline for the junction of Bong Bong and Banyette streets where you’ll find an array of options starting with The Press Shop, housed in a harmonious space within the flagship Bespoke Letterpress building, which serves excellent coffee and handcrafted teas.brbrJust down the street in the thriving Green Lane shopping and dining precinct, Plantation (the sister venue to popular restaurant and wine bar Harry’s On Green Lane, next door) is a light and plant-filled space serving Double Roasters coffee, fresh baked goods and an all-day menu.brbrSitting pretty just opposite is Bowral institution Dirty Janes – a vintage emporium with a tea salon.brbrDirty Janes’ tea salon, Your Vintage Occasion, serves a famous high tea that you’d be remiss not to treat yourself to.brbrChannel the spirit of the eccentric English aristocracy, while you sip on Highlands Tea Company, which brews from fine bone china cups and saucers, and nibble on pinwheel sandwiches.brbrScone flavours include classic, lavender, rose, and white chocolate and cinnamon, with gluten-free options available, and come with the requisite generous dollops of jam and cream on the side. Book ahead on weekends.brbrThe thriving Green Lane precinct is also a haven for those in the market for unique garden and homewares.brbrIt’s home to The Potting Shed, which sells rustic garden ornaments, terracotta pots, tools, gifts for gardeners and more, and The Orangery, which sells indoor plants, cold-climate perennials, topiary, water features and garden furniture alongside a careful edit of Italian linen clothing and Portuguese porcelain by Bordello Pinheiro.brbrGreen Lane adjoins Dirty Janes Antique Market, a mecca for those who love sourcing unique vintage pieces – from furnishings to ornaments and jewellery – that’s home to over 60 independent dealers, decorators and upcyclers.brbrRound the corner on Bong Bong Street, Arkke is a concept store selling a curated selection of designer clothing and accessories. Other boutiques worth checking out in town include The Bronte Tram and Barbara’s Storehouse for one-of-a-kind homewares and furniture; Cookshop Plus for copper saute pans, cast iron Dutch ovens and whistling cooktop kettles; and the full-to-the-brim Bookshop Bowral for all your literary needs.brbrMake a dinner reservation at Onesta Cucina, a much-loved family-owned restaurant whose name translates to ‘honest kitchen’.brbrThis atmospheric spot, with its ambient lighting and vintage Campari posters, serves high quality and hearty Italian fare.brbrThe menu changes every day but could include a round of warm marinated Ligurian olives for the table; a primi of fried soft-shelled mud crab with salsa verde; pasta dishes like orrechiette with gorgonzola and rosemary ragu; and a finely tuned secondi like a whole Snowy River rainbow trout with brown herb butter and almonds.brbrThe menu is complemented by a carefully crafted wine list.brbrBowral is the hometown of cricketing icon Sir Donald Bradman and the Bradman Museum & International Cricket Hall of Fame is where to go to explore his legacy.brbrSet on the edge of Bradman Oval in pretty Glebe Park, the museum incorporates interactive displays with fascinating memorabilia and a collection of national significance that tells the story not only of Bradman himself but of cricket itself – from its origins right through to the Big Bash League.brbrThe museum is also the start and finish point of a self-guided tour of Bowral from a Bradman perspective. The leisurely 1.7-kilometre Bradman Walk takes about 45 minutes to complete and visits historic sites associated with the legend, including his childhood homes, schools and church.brbrElegant gardens have long been a drawcard for visitors to the Southern Highlands and Corbett Gardens, in the centre of Bowral, is one of its oldest and most beautiful.brbrIt dates back to 1911 when the local tourist association, at the suggestion of one Ada Corbett, purchased a disused patch of land in the centre of Bowral called Deadmans Paddock and transformed it into a public park.brbrWith its huge array of tulips and colourful springtime bulbs, Corbett Gardens is the centerpiece of Tulip Time Festival which is held each September.brbrThe Southern Highlands is a relatively young wine region, with a high elevation and climate that is perfectly primed to produce cool-climate wines like pinot noir, chardonnay and sparkling varieties.brbrFrom its beginnings in the 1990s, the region now has more than 60 vineyards and 15 cellar doors, which offer extra incentive to get out and explore the beautiful rural landscape here.brbrTake the Southern Highlands wine trail to make the most of it – stops include Bendooley Estate, where you can also explore the Berkelouw Book Barn; Joadja Estate, the region’s oldest; and Tractorless Vineyard, an urban cellar door in Braemar, a 15-minute drive from Bowral.brbrGet a taste of bushwalking in the Southern Highlands by exploring the Mt Gibraltar Reserve on the outskirts of town.brbrHere, 130 hectares of restored natural forest surround the summit of collapsed volcano Mt Gibraltar – at 863 metres, it’s the highest point between Sydney and Canberra.brbrFrom up here you can see three different perspectives via the Bowral, Mittagong and Jellore lookouts; the 1.2-kilometre Rim Track connects all three.brbrPack a picnic of local produce (Bendooley Estate Larder in Bowral will set you up) to enjoy alongside stunning views.brbrDon’t miss Mittagong, with its ivy-clad cafe The Boston serving one of the best brunches around; Berrima, where you can score a table for coffee and cake at Berkelouw’s famous Book Barn on Bendooley Estate and duck into old-school lolly store Lolly Swagman for road trip treats; or the somewhat hidden gem of Moss Vale with its collection of boutiques, cafes and retro Bernie’s Diner.brbrLocated a 5 minutes drive to Bowrals Main Street, Laurentana House and Cottage are quintessential Southern Highlands charm. Both the house and the cottage are perfect for wedding photography and we pride ourselves on accommodating bridal parties who wish to utilise our home and grounds for photography.brbrThe Estate is incredibly private and secluded behind large, gated manicured gardens.brbrThe property also features a large solar heated pool.brbrLauretana House and Cottage is equipped with all the luxury requirements you may need and more includingbr- Wifibr- Nespresso machinesbr- Smeg appliancesbr- Luxury bathroom amenitiesbr- Hotel quality linens and towelsbr- The main residence features a roaring fireplace, heating system and cooling fans.br- The cottage features a split system air-conditioning and electric heatingbr- Travel cot, and high chair for your childrenbrbr*****brTHE MAIN RESIDENCEbrThe main residence sleeps a maximum of 8 adults and features:brbrBedrooms:br- Master bedroom with queen bed and ensuitebr- Two Queen Size bedrooms with queen bedsbr- One Queen Size bedroom with double bedbrbrTHE COTTAGEbrThe cottage sleeps a maximum of 4 adults and features:brbr- Master bedroom with queen bedbr- 1 air mattress in the living roombr- 1 bathroom w/ a shower and toiletbrbrBathrooms:br- All bathrooms come complete with complimentary organic shampoo, conditioner and body washbr- All bathrooms come with hotel-quality towels, bathmats and hand soapbr- All bathrooms come with heating (in the main house, not in the cottage)brbrbr** Strictly no parties, and unfortunately we cannot host weddings on our grounds.**brbrWe love having guests who want to visit the highlands for weddings, or want to have a reception elsewhere and utilise our property for wedding photography, or accommodation for after the ceremony / reception.

Eridge Lodge Burradoo- Heritage Cottage central located

Burradoo, New South Wales, Australia

You will fall in love with this charming heritage gatehouse, completely modernised and ideal for three couples ... but can comfortably sleep up to ten people. Set in sunny private gardens on the picturesque Eridge Park Road in Burradoo just 5 minutes drive from Bowral township, Eridge Lodge combines the quiet and peace of the countryside with the convenience of local shops and villages. brLike many of the historical buildings in Bowral, the Lodge dates back to around the 1880's when the area had become a retreat for prominent Sydney families and is regarded as one of the finest Australian examples of Gothic gate lodges. The original cottage has been doubled in size and now comfortably sleeps 10 guests with spacious living and cooking areas in the new section. Quaint details like the undersized door, the window seat and the tiny lighting alcove remain, but it now has the functionality of a modern home. Nestled between the renowned Moidart Gardens and the historic grounds of Hartzer Park Monastery, your outlook is both picturesque and peaceful. br brGeneral: brThe cottage is available for domestic holiday rental onlybrbrbrbrbrThe cottage accommodation comprises 3 bedrooms (2 king and 1 queen bed) and three ensuite bathrooms. With its old world charm and warm natural colours, the cottage is instantly welcoming and relaxing. And in winter the wood burning fireplace creates a cosy escape from the outside world. brThe modern kitchen has gas oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, walk-in pantry and all the necessary appliances for an easy, relaxed visit. There is also a washing machine, dryer, iron and ironing board available. brEntertainment options include a large plasma television and a DVD/CD player along with an ipod connector. brWe have three bedrooms in the house - 2 queen bedrooms and 1 king bedroom each with wardrobes, sitting areas and ensuite. Each of the sitting areas includes a sofa bed for extra guests. The third bedroom is made up with a queen sized bed and wardrobe. Two of the bedrooms have flat screen televisions. Modern bathrooms offer all conveniences, two with full baths. Unfortunately due to insurance we do not provide portable cots, clients are asked to supply their own cot. brThe upstairs area features reverse cycle air conditioning and in the cooler months the cottage has the choice of wood fire or electric heating. brUnder cover parking is available for 4 cars. brLocal restaurant menus and information guides and suggestions are included in the guest arrival kit for those wishing to explore the local area. br brTerms and Conditions br brCheck in / Check out time: brThe cottage is available from 3pm on the date of your arrival. Check out time is strictly 11am so the cleaners have time to prepare for the next guests check-in at 3pm. br An inventory is checked after your stay and all damage or losses will need to be paid for. brPlease leave the cottage as you found it. If our cleaner is required to do significantly more than a standard clean, an additional fee will apply. brWe hope you find Eridge Lodge relaxing and comfortable home away from home and we hope you will come back again soon to the lovely Southern Highlands. br brbrbrbrbrBowral and Surrounds brBowral has always been a fashionable holiday destination for Sydneysiders because of its combination of rural charm and comfortable facilities. The town's stunning private gardens, part of grand old estates, are a delight in spring and autumn when they are open to the public. Spring and Summer are quite spectacular due to the many cool climate English style gardens. Bowral is a great place to shop for antiques, home wares, jewellery, arts and crafts. The Sir Donald Bradman Oval is one of the sacred sites of cricket and is well worth a visit. br brBowral History brThe Bowral area was first explored by Europeans in 1798, in the very early days of Australia's European settlement. Expeditions to the area continued over the next 20 years, as the hunt was on for new grazing grounds outside Sydney. brThe arrival of the railway in the 1860s encouraged development in the area and Bowral was proclaimed a town in 1863. In the early days, wealthy Sydneysiders built grand country homes with English-style gardens so they could enjoy the cool climate. Today, many of these homes survive, allowing new generations of visitors to enjoy the area. br brThings to do br- Visit the Bradman Museum of Cricket at the Bradman Oval to learn about Australia's greatest cricketer. br- Horse enthusiasts an ch
