The living room is part of a great room area connected to the kitchen and breakfast eating area – one of my personal favorite times is when you are in the house during a snowstorm – watching snow fall across the valley onto the trees is just magical. On the lower floor is the gameroom where families can gather to play air hockey or watch TV together or play cards, games or puzzles – all provided for you. The kids' room is a fun haven for the little ones with board games, stuffed animals and toys. brbrKITCHEN/DININGbrCreating and eating meals together is another way to create great family memories and the Mountain Serenity home provides everything you need. Our kitchen features stainless appliances, a double oven, microwave, refrigerator/freezer, coffee makers (regular and a Keurig), blender, griddle, crockpot. All plates, glassware, baking/cookware, pots, pans, utensils are all provided. In addition, we have a cabinet full of olive oil, flour, sugar, and spices to get you started. And on the back covered porch is a gas grill.brFor dining seating, we have several options – there are 2 barstools at the kitchen counter, a breakfast table that seats 4 and also a full dining room with doors that close for privacy and a huge table that seats 8 people. brbrENTERTAINMENT INDOORS:brWe aim to provide the ingredients for everyone to have fun and be entertained while inside the Mountain Serenity home. The gameroom has an air hockey table, TV with DVD player, a card table and puzzles and games. The living area has a sound system with radio and connections for your smart phone to play music that way. The house has high speed internet and wifi. There's also a TV and DVD player in the master bedroom. brbrENTERTAINMENT OUTDOORS:brOutside, we aim to provide the setting for fun family memories. The back of the house has a deck with rocking chairs and side tables – picture your family having coffee in the morning or celebrating happy hour in the afternoon while taking in the mountain air and spotting wildlife in the valley most commonly seen around dawn and dusk. The front porch is covered and has a porch swing and table and chairs – great for watching kids play in the yard or sitting and staying dry while watching a rain shower or snow storm. There's a gas grill on the covered back porch as well for grilling in summer or winter. The front yard has a firepit with stocked wood pile for family gatherings in winter or summer. On the front porch is the hot tub, perfect for family conversations and relaxation after skiing or hiking. Relax on the hammock in the yard in the summer while watching the kids play on our homemade see-saw. It's so nice to watch kids explore nature in our huge yard and the woods beside our house – and in the summers here where the temperature is in the 70s, kids play outside all day long – like when we all grew up. In the winter, our driveway is perfect for sledding (we provide the sleds) and the yard perfect for snowmen and snowball fights.brThe Angel Fire hiking trail system is adjacent to the house and is great for family walks (the Elk trail is directly behind our house and there's a trail from our back yard to get to it). You can walk to the grocery store from these trails and walk all around Angel Fire from these trails. brbrLAUNDRY ROOM/MUD ROOMbrEntering the house from the garage is our mud room/laundry room. It has ample hooks for coats and rubber mats for boots. We have a front load washer and dryer with provided detergent and dryer sheets. There is another area inside the front door with boot mats and a hall closet for coats so everyone can spread out. brbrPARKING/GARAGE:brWhen you get to the house, we have a garage to park your vehicle in, which you'll appreciate in the winter. Our house sits down from the road so the driveway slopes down to the house. We spend a lot of time and expense maintaining the driveway so that it's easy for people to get down and less intimidating for those who aren't used to driving in the snow. Our property manager will have the driveway plowed and cindered after a storm and you are able to request additional plowings at any time should you need it. Our private cabin is located in the spruce and aspen forests of the Sangre De Christos mountains of northern New Mexico at 9200 feet of elevation. It has two bathrooms, two bedrooms with two new comfortable queen size beds, and a loft with a total of two double beds and one single bed. Our cabin can sleep up to 9 people very comfortably. Outside entertainment includes large deck, large propane grill, patio furniture. Inside the cabin includes a Dish satellite, 47 inch LCD TV, DVD/stereo player, Wfi and numerous parlor games. The kitchen has a microwave, gas stove and oven, refrigerator and a full set of cooking and eating utensils. The only dishwasher is the pair of hands you bring with you. The dining room table can comfortably seat up to nine or more. It has central heat augmented by a high efficiency wood burning stove. The cabin is accessible in all seasons with lots of trees to hike and explore through. A perfect place for kids, young and old to play.brbrIn the winter season, the Angel Fire Ski Resort is two miles below the cabin which is fun for family and beginning skiers. Red River is 30 miles north of Angel Fire with numerous beginner and intermediate ski runs. Taos Ski Valley is 60 miles from Angel with a worldwide reputation for challenging deep snow, high ski runs with many intermediate and expert runs. brbrA quick drive down the road and you're at the boat dock of scenic Monte Verde Lake where you can enjoy fishing, canoeing, paddle boating, and hiking around the lake. brbrAngel Fire is an outdoor lover’s paradise. Summers are delightfully cool and refreshing. There is an easy hiking trail through the woods just outside your door or for the more adventuresome hiker, there’s Wheeler Peak, at over 13,000 feet. Fall is a special time of year. The colors are beautiful! The aspens on our place and on the mountains appear to be like gold coins in the wind. The nights are cool and just right for the woodstove. In the winter, skiing is fantastic, and snowboarders love the new terrain park. The Angel Fire Ski Resort is family oriented and world renowned for their Children’s Ski and Snowboard Center. The Chili Express high speed quad chairlift carries skiers to the top of the mountain in eight minutes. Snowmaking covers 60% of the mountain, so good ski conditions are almost guaranteed!brbrLocated one mile from the main highway and another mile to the ski lift you have easy access to all activities. The $16M Country Club is a half mile away with exquisite gourmet food. Complete gym and spa services are also available as well as an indoor pool.
