Ancient Renovated Hay-Barn in the Foothills of the Sibillini Mountains

Amandola, Fermo Le Marche, Italy

This architect-designed hay barn is a quiet place, similar to a retreat – and visitors frequently comment it has the atmosphere of a place time has forgotten. Surrounded by verdant foliage, this eco hay-barn faces onto some of the most inspiring mountain views in Central Italy, if not Italy as a whole. brbrThe location suits people who are interested in culture and nature, peace, health and hiking. The large and private grounds of the hay-barn face directly onto the mountains as do the wall-length windows showing the full panorama of the Sibillini massif, surrounded by forests, small fields, our truffle orchard, and a traditional mosaic landscape, where laneways and gravel roads lead to beautiful walks in many directions.brbrA famous pilgrimage route for S. Francis of Assisi passes near the hay-barn, and the Monti Sibillini National Park is but a few minutes' drive away, where outstanding hiking abounds in a renaturalized landscape (compass and map occasionally required). The nearest building is an ancient hermitage only partially frequented. brbrNo chemicals of any sort are used outside/nor inside and the hay-barn relies on solar panels and underfloor heating powered by wood, sustainably sourced from the park. As such there are great opportunities for enjoying biodiversity, foraging, and also heritage foods. brbrThe area around the hay barn is celebrated for its 'nature and culture', dotted with historic hill towns and many excellent countryside dining opportunities and local produce. Gourmands will be well satisfied, though people wanting shopping and nightlife will be disappointed. Instead, the grounds are awash with fireflies in June (a sign of a healthy environment) and outstanding star gazing with dark skies - occasionally one can see the Milky Way with one's bare eyes. Those searching for tranquillity and revitalization, find the hay-barn extremely rewarding. brbrThere is also a piano and sauna (which has a modest charge for electricity use). The hosts live on the land in another house and we will not cross paths - unless you wish. We are happy to greet you and offer extra information regarding your interests and the area. Guests have their own expansive garden with various outdoor tables and grounds facing the mountains, which are not overlooked and are entirely private, as well as their own entrance and own parking.

Secluded Marche Hillside Retreat — shared pool, estate grounds & alfresco dining

Amandola, Province of Fermo, Italy

Somewhere between the Sibillini Mountains and the Adriatic Sea, tucked amongst terraced gardens and sweeping vistas, Casa Pacifico is the kind of place Italy keeps secret. One of two guest homes on the estate, Casa Pacifico sleeps six across three bedrooms — two with king beds, and a third that can be arranged as a king or twin singles, ideal for families or groups of friends. Carefully furnished, it feels like a home that happens to be yours for the week, not a property dressed up for rental. Outside, the estate's mature trees cast cool, dappled shade — one of Casa Pacifico's quiet pleasures during the height of the Italian summer.brbrThe shared estate grounds are made for long, unhurried days. Cool off in the pool — with a child-friendly paddling area — then gather on the terrace for evenings around the BBQ or pizza oven, the Sibillini mountains glowing in the distance. Wander the gardens and vineyards, laze in the sunshine, and enjoy native wines with locally sourced Ascoli stuffed olives, artisan cheeses, and cured meats.brbrOriginally built in 1845 as a summer retreat for the Pascali family, this stunning 19th-century estate fell into ruin before being discovered in 2008 by the Monkhouse family — who fell immediately in love with its views, its tranquillity, and its bones. After years of careful restoration, Villa Pascali is once again welcoming guests to one of Italy's most beautiful and least-discovered corners. Set across several acres in the Marche hills, the estate encompasses ornate gardens, terraced woodlands, working vines, and sweeping views of the Sibillini Mountains. It is a place to slow down completely. The Estate sits near Comunanza, a tranquil village of 3,000 people nestled at the foot of Monti Sibillini — a place with roots stretching back to the 5th century and a pace of life to match. The wider Marche region offers a remarkable variety: medieval hilltop towns, mountain trails with spectacular vistas, and local vineyards offering tastings. The Adriatic coast — wide sandy beaches, and calm clear water perfect for families — is just 40 minutes away.brbrCome and find your own dolce vita.

Stunning Town Villa, Breathtaking Views, Pretty Garden near Medieval Piazza

Amandola, Marche, Italy

Casa Luna has been recently restored to a high standard with warm maple wood floors on top levels accessed by softly-lit travertine staircases and lies in a quiet pedestrian lane in the historic centre of Amandola, a few minutes walk from the medieval piazza.brThe villa retains original 19th century stencilled and domed ceiling, oak beams and an open fireplace in the living room that leads to a pretty patio for al fresco dining and a tranquil garden with a palm tree, flowering jasmine, roses and fruit trees. br[ 2026 update - please note - major renovation works of a grand palazzo next to the property are currently underway with associated noise and daytime activity possible during weekdays (approx. 8:00am to 5:00pm) and scaffolding covered by protective sheeting running alongside the terrace and garden.] brCasa Luna itself is set over 3 floors with 2 large and airy double bedrooms, a 3rd bedroom/study and 3 bathrooms. Amandola is renowned for its truffles and every November a truffle festival is held in the main square with music and local produce.brThe sandy beaches of the Adriatic coast are just 30-40 minutes away by car as is a freshwater lake with its own beach.
