Built amphitheatrically on the hillside above the port, Chora is a place where whitewashed houses, flower-filled balconies, narrow stone stairways and stunning sea views all come together in a setting that feels both authentic and cinematic. It’s the perfect base for exploring the island because you can enjoy the lively atmosphere of the town in the evenings, and spend your days discovering beaches, hidden coves, viewpoints, monasteries and charming villages around the island.brbrbrbrOne of the simplest pleasures in Skopelos Town is just wandering. The old town is made for slow walks and spontaneous discoveries, with twisting alleyways, little chapels tucked between homes, and the sound of everyday island life all around you. As you climb higher, the views open up and you’ll find peaceful corners, small squares with cafés, and traditional tavernas serving local dishes. In the late afternoon, the town becomes especially magical as the light turns golden and the harbor fills with people enjoying a drink by the sea.brbrbrbrFor a classic Skopelos experience, head up to the Venetian Castle area, perched above the town. The walk itself is part of the charm, taking you through winding streets and staircases. From the top you’ll get breathtaking views over the red rooftops, the harbor, and the endless blue of the Aegean. It’s one of the best spots in Chora for photos, especially around sunset.brbrbrbrChora is also known for its many small churches and chapels, which are scattered throughout the town and often decorated with lovely details and icons. Even if you’re not focused on sightseeing, these quiet little buildings add to the atmosphere and give the town a timeless, spiritual feeling that blends beautifully with the everyday rhythm of island life.brbrbrbrIf you love the sea, Skopelos Town is an excellent starting point for boat trips and excursions. From the harbor you can often find cruises that take you to hidden beaches only accessible by boat, nearby coves with crystal-clear water, and even to the neighboring island of Alonissos and the marine park area, depending on the season. It’s one of the best ways to experience the island from a different perspective and to swim in places that feel completely untouched.brbrbrbrFood is another highlight of staying in Chora. You can enjoy fresh seafood by the water, traditional Greek cuisine in the old town, or take it slow with a coffee or dessert in one of the many small cafés tucked into the alleyways. Skopelos is also famous for its local cheese pie, and trying it from a bakery in town is practically a must. In the evenings, Chora comes alive with a relaxed, welcoming energy—perfect for a long dinner, a stroll along the promenade, and a glass of wine with the sea in front of you.brbrbrbrWhen it comes to beaches, Skopelos offers an incredible variety, from organized sandy beaches to quiet pebble coves surrounded by pine trees. The great thing is that many of the best beaches are within a short drive from Chora, making it easy to plan a different beach day every day without feeling rushed.brbrbrbrThe closest beach to Skopelos Town is Stafylos Beach, located about 4 km from Chora. It’s one of the most popular choices because it’s close, scenic, and has that classic Skopelos look with green hills framing the sea. Just around the corner from Stafylos, you’ll also find Velanio Beach, roughly 5 km from Chora, a more peaceful and natural beach that feels quieter and a little more hidden.brbrbrbrA little further along the same coast you can visit Agnontas Beach, about 8 km from Chora. This is a small seaside spot that’s perfect if you want a relaxed beach day paired with fresh fish at a waterfront taverna. Nearby, Limnonari Beach is around 10 km from Chora and is loved for its calm waters and sheltered feel, making it an easy choice for swimming and unwinding.brbrbrbrFor one of the most famous and photogenic beaches on the island, head to Panormos Beach, approximately 12 km from Chora. Panormos is known for its stunning bay, clear water, and beautiful scenery, and it’s a great place to spend the day because it has a relaxed atmosphere and plenty of space to enjoy the sea.brbrbrbrContinuing around the island, Milia Beach is around 14 km from Chora and is a favorite for its mix of turquoise water and pine-covered surroundings. It feels open and bright, with water that’s perfect for swimming. Close to Milia, Kastani Beach sits about 15 km from Chora and is especially popular thanks to its beauty and its connection to the Mamma Mia filming locations. It’s one of those beaches that feels like it belongs in a postcard, with vivid colors and a lively but still laid-back vibe.brbrbrbrIf you want to explore even more of the island’s coastline, you can also head toward the northeast side for a different kind of landscape. Glisteri Beach is around 4 km from Chora and offers a lovely setting that feels very close to town, making it ideal for a short beach visit or a sunset swim. For a truly special day trip, you can drive to the far side of the island to visit Perivoliou Beach, roughly 22 km from Chora, which feels more remote and wild, with dramatic scenery and deep blue water. Not far from there you’ll find Aggeletou Beach at around 23 km from Chora, another quiet option that’s perfect if you want to escape the more popular areas.brbrbrbrBeyond beaches, Skopelos has wonderful nature and hiking opportunities, and Chora is a great starting point for exploring walking trails through pine forests and olive groves. Even short walks outside town can lead to incredible viewpoints and peaceful scenery. The island is famous for its green landscape, and the contrast of the forest meeting the sea is something you’ll notice everywhere.brbrbrbrIf you’re a fan of iconic viewpoints and religious sites, the Monastery of Evangelistria is another beautiful place to visit not far from Chora. It’s peaceful, scenic, and offers lovely views, making it a great addition to a morning or afternoon outing. And if you want to experience more of local village life, Glossa village on the northwest side of the island is well worth the drive. It’s a traditional hillside village with its own charm, great views, and a calmer pace that feels different from the harbor energy of Chora.brbrbrbrSkopelos (Chora) is the kind of destination that can be as active or as slow as you want it to be. You can spend your days chasing beaches and swimming in clear blue water, or you can stay close to town and enjoy long walks, beautiful scenery, great food, and that unmistakable Greek island feeling. Villa

A traditional stone villa with private pool in a stunning location

Skopelos, Thessalia Sterea Ellada, Greece

A rare example of an historic house- with all the modern comforts- in a stunning location.brbrAyia Triada was built in the late 19th century by the current owners great grandfather where he produced wine, tchipouro( a local variant of ouzo) ,almonds olives, plums and many more on the 4 hectares of surrounding land. He thankfully chose a stunning location for his house with views out to sea to the neighbouring islands and across the valleys of olive groves and pine trees.brThe unspoiled lovely village of Glossa is close by with its shops tavernas and cafes, but not close enough to disturb the peace and tranquility of this special spot. And the nearby beaches of Perivoliou and Hondro Georgos are also delightful as are the many secret coves and beaches in this area of special natural beauty.brbrThe house itself has just been renovated with great respect for the traditional materials of the area and has revealed again the fantastic quality stonework of those master builders of times gone by and the wonderful proportions of this Venetian style of architecture.brbrIt is a 2 story house built into the hillside and as is normal in many houses on the island the upstairs is one big living /kitchen/dinning room . It is in fact 9x6 meters with an open beamed ceiling creating lots of light and space and with an entrance into the rear courtyard and gardens and a balcony at the front facing the valleys below it has plenty of access and sea views.brbrThe kitchen is well equipped and modern with a moulded cement island and limestone floors- large double-doored refrigerator and all the appliances you could need. Next to it is a dining area, although most people will probably want to eat in the outside spaces, and then a large wooden floored sitting area with sofas ,modern and antique ,and chairs to relax on. A tv and air conditioning is provided.brbrThe traditional painted balustrade leads you down a modern staircase to the lower level where the second entrance is. Here are 2 generous bedrooms each with a large en-suite bathroom and a walk in wardrobe. One has a double bed and the other 2 singles which can be joined together to make a double.. Again they have limestone floors and the bathrooms have traditional tiled floors and rather more modern tiles for the walls. All linen and towels are provided.brbrThe whole house has typical windows, shutters and doors of the area all painted in a lovely olive green with local lacework curtains. Fabrics, antiques and objects from the family also add to the sense of history and place that being in Ayia Triada brings.brbrArriving at the house after the few minutes drive from Glossa there is a large off road parking area to leave your car surrounded by one of the surviving vineyards. You then walk past the barbecue area to enter the rear courtyards and garden and access the top room of the house.brbrThe barbecue is an important feature in Greek life and so is a large covered area featuring a full sized barbecue and a separate wood oven .There is enough space for a full sized table in case the weather should be inclement. brbrPast there is the 10 meter long shaded veranda which runs the length of the building. And then the newly built parterre garden and more terraces and spaces to sit,eat , sunbathe or watch the boats go bye. There are fabulous views across the Aegean to the neighbouring islands of Alonissos and its uninhabited satellites of Ayia Panagia and Gioura (famous for its wild goats) from here. brbrOn the other side down below the house is the families own church, which give the house its name, as it was normal in those times to build a church to give thanks for good fortune. The church is separate from the house and doesn’t overlook it but it’s worth going inside to see the simple but lovely interior and the icons painted in the byzantine style.brIt is only in use for its annual festival so guests will not be disturbed by its activities.brbrAll around the house you will see the lovely pottery jars (pithari πιθαρι) that were used to make the wine- with some big enough to have 2 people inside- and indeed on this site there is evidence of wine making going back over 3,000 years-there is much archaeology just lying on the surface of the fields you now it was a busy place.brbrThe front of the house ,where you see the best view on its classical venetian shape and style , also is a great place to relax with a mature lime tree (tillia) for shade. And views down the valleys.brbrThe area around Glossa is perfect for walking, swimming ,sightseeing and of course just relaxing and Ayia Triada is the perfect base to experience the traditions and the nature of this lovely unspoiled place.brbr

Rodon Luxury Villas Aria

Skopelos, Skopelos, Greece

Aria is a 3 level villa with private pool in the Rodon complex. “Rodon” is the Greek word for rose in ancient Greek. The inspiration for our logo is a bouquet of roses. brAn Impressive and Elegant Three-Storey Villa with Outstanding Views Across the Aegean Sea.br brAria is located within the luxurious hillside development of Rodon, which comprises two other villas, each set within its own private grounds and each served by its own swimming pool. The architecture of each house is traditional, the stone locally quarried, and the design concept authentically Greek, while at the same time accommodating maximum comfort together with practical modern amenities. Aria enjoys a total area of 180 sqm and offers a luxurious holiday experience with breathtaking views of the Aegean, along with the sunset splendour of the North Sporades Islands, principally Skiathos.br brThe interior of Aria is brimming with character, largely achieved through the use of locally-sourced materials, such as natural stone for the walls – actually quarried on site, just behind the villa - and exposed timbers for the ceilings and beams. This flavour of authenticity is extended to the interior design; for example, the open-plan kitchen, dining and living areas, which incorporate handcrafted detail together with shades of blue and white in the furniture, thus blending island simplicity with stylish contemporary comfort. A truly Greek flavour underpins the elegance of every living space.br brThe villa comprises four bedrooms and four bathrooms. Two master suites on the first and second floors enjoy the stunning westerly views that make this villa so exceptional. Their balconies present a horizon vista of ocean and islands that is indescribable in its beauty, basking in glorious Hellenic sunlight by day, or drenched in dreamy golds and pinks at sunset cocktail hour.br brThe two further guest bedrooms are in the semi-basement of the building, which are a welcome cool refuge from the summer warmth. They offer quieter privacy, ideal for complete relaxation and disconnection from the outside world.br brThe outdoor grounds of Aria complement the villa’s interior elegance and refinement, and, of course, they also enjoy those spectacular views that make this elevated hillside location so very special. Glades of olives, lawns, herbaceous borders and native, flowering shrubs are framed by natural stone paths, in the midst of which is the villa’s private pool, its surround paved with slates quarried on Pelion, the mountain that towers over the western horizon, clearly visible from the house. There is ample space poolside for play, dance or wellbeing routines, such as yoga or pilates. Comfortable poolside loungers invite sunbathers for hours of leisurely reading or quiet meditation, looking towards islands that pepper the horizon. Aria’s swimming pool is of course an indispensable oasis of coolness on hot summer days, but also alluringly romantic in the evening, with its subtle lighting, enriched by the spread of moonlight that shimmers across the distant dark waters of the Aegean.br brAn outdoor bathroom next to the pool adds convenience and comfort, especially on warm summer days.br brAll balconies, terraces and outdoor spaces at Aria offer panoramic views, a glorious backdrop for long Mediterranean meals and sunset drinks. The elevated position of the house allows for a maximum stretch of daylight into gentle dusk, and also grants the property the benefit of a welcome breeze to ease the heat of the warmest days. Aria is quite simply a private paradise — come here to enjoy a genuine experience of relaxation, in comfort and style.

Whether you’re here to relax, explore, or simply enjoy the sea from your own private corner, you’ll have everything you need for a smooth, memorable stay — and a view you’ll never want to leave.brbrbrbrGuest Access:brbrGuests will have access to the interior of the studio as well as the lovely panoramic seaview patio!brbrbrbrThe Neighborhood:brbrSkopelos (Chora) is one of those rare Greek island towns that feels effortlessly beautiful the moment you arrive. Whether it’s your first visit or one of many, the mix of charm, nature and sea views makes Skopelos Town a place you’ll always want to return to.brbrbrbrOther Things to Note:brbrThe ideal Greek summer getaway!
