From the balcony watch the sunrise over the Desertes Islands, and later in the day you can just relax and take in the stunning views, listen to sounds of the waves, watch the sunset in the evening, and the moon glistening on the water at night. Although, the apartment is only a few minutes walk to restaurants, shops, supermarket, banks, taxi's ranks, bus stop and promenade walk, with its cliff top position, it is well away from the road, in a wonderful location. The centre of Funchal, is a pleasant 10-15 min walk. The apartment is very spacious and comfortable, and furnished to a very high standard, fully equipped for your every need, to enable you to have a relaxing holiday. We are there to add that personal touch, and greet you on your arrival, and answer any questions you may have.brMondays changeovers are preferred, but we can be flexible when possible. brbrbrOn your arrival: On your arrival I can arrange transport for you to and from the airport, we have taxi driver's we have used for many years, and are friendly and very reliable, and speaks very good English. They will collect you from the airport and take you to the apartment where we will be there to greet you and show you around the apartment, and to answer any questions you may have. There will be a welcome pack for you on arrival also. If you should need any extra help or advice during your stay I would be pleased to help. The apartment is very central, with good transport available close by, so hiring a car is not really necessary unless you wish to, and if so there is public car parking along side the drive way down to the apartment building. Parking is metered, but available, but can be busy during certain times. if you need more information, please ask. There is also a hire car office in the courtyard of the apartment , so if you do wish to hire a car for the odd day, it is very convenient for pick-up and return of the car.brWe have tried to put all the little extra touches to the apartment to make your stay more enjoyable.brOn your arrival when I greet you, I have to collect from you the Tourist tax for Funchal. Which is 2 euros per night per person, maximum of 7 nights. bri.e. 14 euros per person for a 7 nights. From the swimming pool area you will find a door to access the beach.brbrIf you walk along the beach to the left side you will find a tunnel – closes at 22h pm (5 minutes walking). This tunnel will cross the rock and leads you to the natural swimming pools. Here you have a good restaurant for fish called “Doca do Cavacas” (they close on Mondays). From here you can climb the steps to reach the upper road where you will find more restaurants (a seafood restaurant called “Barqueiro” and a good Italian restaurant called “Papa Manuel”) and a bus stop to take the yellow bus number 2 to go to the city centre.brbrNear both restaurants you have a small shopping and inside you will find a small supermarket called “Meu Super” and a bakery called Bruno`s.brbrIf you keep walking along the walking path (no cars here) you can walk until “Ponta Gorda” and “Lido” (swimming pools complexes with entrances to the sea) with restaurants, bars along the way.brbrIn the middle of the way you will find a “tea house” on your left side. Immediately before the “tea house” there is a walking path to go up on the left side. If you go up you will reach other road with more restaurants. If you keep walking along this road to the right, you will see the “Forum Madeira” shopping center with a bigger supermarket (from the tea house to the shopping it takes around 5/10 minutes walking).brbrThe “Forum Madeira” shopping centre is big building with a palm trees entrance.
