Historic house renovated from the studs with the help of an architect specialized in historic homes. brThe house has 3 levels. In the first level we have a bedroom, bathroom, living room, dining table, TV, hammock and a garden with 7 holly trees.brThe second floor is the main floor of the house with a full kitchen, bedroom, bathroom 2 living rooms, and the whole space is full of beautiful windows and plants that makes you fill you are outdoors.brOn the 3rd floor we have the master room with a small living room and a bathroom. Also full of light.brWhen we renovated the house the idea was to create an informal and rustic feel that reflects New Orleans. brThe house is located in a street with a large boulevard filled with oak trees. We are in the middle of the city, less than 2 miles from all the important parts of the city.brWe are located in one of the oldest neighborhood of the city, with easy access to the French Quarter, Magazine Street , the Garden District, Tulane and Loyola University, Audubon Park and City Park. It is the perfect place if you want to visit all the special neighborhoods in the city, nothing will be more than 10 minutes away.brThe neighborhood is very safe and walkable, there is a great restaurant 3 blocks from the house and Ferret street, only 5 minutes by car from the house is full of restaurants, supermarkets and bars.brWe have not done any exchange yet because we have been working on the renovation,

It has the air of what the French Quarter was in it's golden days. It has a few small hotels, and many bed-and-breakfasts, as well as a number of good restaurants, coffee shops, and music venues. Architecturally, the Marigny is known for its many styles of Creole cottages, most of which date to the 19th century. Its heart is Washington Square Park (bounded by Frenchmen Street, Royal Street, Dauphine Street, and Elysian Fields Avenue). Frenchmen Street is the main nightlife district, with half a dozen live music clubs and just as many restaurants in four short blocks. At Mardi Gras, the Marigny is one of the city's hidden hot spots. Very popular with locals, who enjoy partying in the streets without the busy atmosphere of Bourbon Street. Luxury hotel-like amenities, fully stocked kitchen, large dining table, wonderful workspace, comfortable designer queen beds, independent and private bedrooms and bathrooms (not shotgun style), and a wonderful private deck. brbrThe house opens up to a large, spacious living, entertaining and dining space. Ten foot ceilings throughout the house creates an open and spacious setting. The living room has two deep and comfortable West Elm couches, perfect for lounging around. The smart tv has basic cable, HBO, Samsung Plus TV, Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, etc. brbrMany guests have cooked Thanksgiving means in this fully stocked kitchen. French press, cuisinart coffee maker, coffee pod maker (coffee pods provided), barware, microwave, dishwasher, gas stove and oven, pots and pans, and cooking tools.brbrThe guest bedroom has a queen size bed, luxurious and comfortable mattress, and a large closet. The guest bathroom is located across the hallway. There is a smart tv with Samsung Plus TV, Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, etc. brbrIn between the guest and master bedroom is a wonderful workspace for those looking to get some work done while in town. Flanked by two bookshelves, the workspace has a black granite countertop and a very comfortable Herman Miller chair. Next to the workspace is a perfect, cozy reading room/yoga/meditation/napping room, with a custom twin size bed. This room is perfect for kids or babies, with a pack & play and a ComfyBumpy for their safety. This is my favorite little nook in the house. brbrThe master bedroom located at the back of the house is quiet and peaceful. It has a queen size bed, with luxurious and comfortable mattress, and opens to the back deck through French doors. The master has a smart tv with basic cable, HBO, Samsung Plus TV, Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, etc. The bedroom gets a lot of light due to the horizontal windows above the French doors, perfect for morning people. The large walk in closet leads into the bathroom, with a wonderful glass enclosed shower.brbrGuests can relax/enjoy the private and spacious deck with cushioned lounge chairs, dining for six with cushioned seats, or lounge out on the sofa. Grill on the gas grill (propane tanks provided) and enjoy the outdoor space. brbrPlease take care of my home as if it were your own. Please respect the neighbors and keep noise levels to a minimum during late night hours. No smoking inside the house. Smoking is allowed on the front porch and back deck (ashtrays provided). Pets will be considered with additional cleaning fee; only if pets are potty and house trained as well. It’s a residential neighborhood and I want to be mindful of my neighbors, so no barking dogs when left alone. brbrSUMMER DISCLAIMER: Hurricane season and the summers in New Orleans can be very hot and humid. Like most homes in this city, the AC system will have a hard time keeping the house cool at 65 degrees all day. Cancellations will only be allowed for named Tropical Storms/Hurricanes. Take the bus to JAZZ FEST!brNestled in charming Uptown New Orleans, in the historic, quiet and safe Uptown neighborhood of Carrollton. Close to beautiful Marsalis Harmony Park, the house is just 2 blocks from the streetcar line on historic Carrollton Avenue, the bus line on Claiborne or the taxi stand on the corner! Robert’s Grocery and Walgreen’s are just 3 blocks away. Mere blocks from historic, yet hip Oak Street, there are dozens of nearby restaurants, bars, coffeehouses and shops.
