Charming Hideaway - Walk to French Quarter

New Orleans, Louisiana, United States

This 130-year-old house sits on a quiet, oak-lined street in the historic St. Roch neighborhood. It’s an easy walk to Frenchmen Street and the French Quarter, and surrounded by the local color of the Marigny and Bywater. Whether you're here for music, food, or architecture, this location makes it easy to explore—and easy to come home and rest.brbrThe house itself is a lovingly maintained two-bedroom with high ceilings, French doors, and a few quirks to remind you you're in a place with history. It’s not a hotel—thankfully—but it is clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully equipped for short- or long-term stays.brbrWhat You’ll Find Inside:brTwo bedrooms in shotgun layout with real mattresses, soft linens, and plenty of blankets for a solid night’s sleep.brbrA full kitchen with gas stove, coffee setup, and plenty of cookware if you’re staying in.brbrA washer and dryer tucked off the bathroom—especially helpful for longer stays.brbrA bathroom with good water pressure, tankless hot water, and large walk in shower.brbrA cozy living room with comfy seating, fast Wi-Fi, and a smart TV.brbrThoughtful touches throughout—from books and art to extra towels and kitchen basics.brbrStep Outside:brThe courtyard is yours to enjoy during your stay. It’s a private space with brick underfoot, tropical plantings, and lights overhead—perfect for morning coffee, reading in the afternoon, or an evening cocktail. There's a grill available if you'd like to cook outside. Just ask if you’d like it set up with fuel.brbrThe Neighborhood:brSt. Roch is a residential area with deep history and a strong sense of place. You’ll see families, elders, artists, tradespeople, and musicians coming and going—folks who’ve lived here a long time, and others who’ve just arrived and fallen in love. The house is just a few blocks from the St. Roch Market (a great place for a quick bite or cocktail), and you're close to some of the best dining and nightlife in the city without being right in the thick of it.brbrYou can walk to Frenchmen Street in about 15 minutes, and from there it’s just another 15 to Jackson Square. Rideshares are quick and affordable if you're venturing farther afield.brbrA Note About the Space:brThis is a home with personality. It's not sterile or overly curated. Thoroughly clean, comfortable, and well stocked, it’s a little worn in, a little magical, and very representative of life here in NOLA.

There is a large, covered breezeway along the side of the home for you and your guests to enjoy time outside. The large blank slate of a backyard is currently a work in progress, with plans to become a lovely sitting and dining area.brbrGREAT LOCATION, GREAT FOR GROUPSbrbrThe location is unbeatable, with tons of restaurants, bars, brewery’s, and shops nearby. Only 2 blocks from Tchoupitoulas Street and 5 blocks from Magazine Street, there is plenty to choose from within walking distance and more even with a quick drive or bike ride. The St. Charles Streetcar, where the rest of New Orleans is at your fingertips, is only about a 15 minute walk away— a beautiful scenic walk that includes the famous Buckner Mansion, seen in movies and TV like American Horror story. Walk a block to the famous Nola lunch spot, Turkey and the Wolf, or grab a bite even closer to your front door at the Dragonfly Cafe on one side or T&T po-boys on the other. Check out some of the many breweries located on Tchoupitoulas street, like Urban South Brewery, Miel Brewery & Taproom, NOLA Brewing and more!brbrGuests will have full and private access to the BACK unit of this large 18th century home, which includes a downstairs 2 bedroom apartment, upstairs 2 bedroom loft space, shared breezeway, and private backyard. brbrGuests will enter the property through a wooden gate into a shared breezeway located on the side of the home. This outside path leads directly to the entrance of the unit as well as a private backyard space. brbrThe breezeway is the only shared space, however there are shared walls as this is a multi unit property. The front unit of this home is rented as a mid-term rental, with guests ranging from one month to several months. brbrLike many New Orleans homes, there is street parking only for this unit. There is often no difficulty parking as there are plenty of street parking spots available in front of the home, further down the block, or directly across the street. All we ask is that you do not park directly in front of the blue house located next door– we have great neighbors and want to respect their space as well!brbrPlease note: The front apartment of the building is occupied by a long term tenant, though it is completely private and has a separate entrance. The long term tenant will have occasional access to the shared breezeway however the backyard remains exclusively for guests of this space. brbrbrQUIET HOURS are strictly enforced between 10pm-8am in order to respect all renting parties. brbrbrWhile a mix of commercial and residential, our block has a quiet residential feel and we hope you and your group get to experience what it feels like to live like a local. brbrWith that being said, this is not the space for rowdy groups traveling for the sole purpose of partying. There are MANY nearby bars and drinking establishments to enjoy before settling down at the property. This home is old, fragile, and not a place for boisterous behavior, so we ask that you reserve that behavior for appropriate New Orleans establishments and adventures and are respectful to our neighbors and our space when returning home. brbrWe have great neighbors who will notify us if guests disobey quiet hours or cause any disruptions to neighbors or other tenants.
