This house is built at an elevation of 40 feet above sea level with ocean views from every room. The deck, balcony, covered porch and all rooms are above the tree line to catch the breezes and for fabulous views of Clarence Town Harbour and the Atlantic Ocean. Three cays (islands) situated between our beach and the Atlantic Ocean stop large waves and provide us with a gently sloping, sandy beach free of currents and undertows. The calm water and long beach make this a classic. Lochabar 'Blue Hole' is a short walk on the beach. This is a perfect place for a peaceful, secluded, sunny and quiet getaway, yet only 3-4 minutes from bars & restaurants.brbrOur home and accommodations have much to offer. Our gated driveway will lead you to the house we built as our private vacation home. It is well-maintained and extra clean. It features 3 full size bedrooms, each with A/C, ceiling fans, queen size beds, and private en-suite bathrooms. brbrWe have a large covered and screened entrance porch with grill, ceiling fan, table and chairs. Perfect for outdoor dining or relaxing in the shade. Great for the infrequent rainy days! Large 16' X 20' deck facing the ocean, extending out above the tree tops, ideal for sunbathing. The ocean-side top floor balcony with access from two bedrooms is a relaxing spot to enjoy sea breezes and the never ending view. Fully equipped kitchen. Laundry room.brbrWe are one mile south of Clarence Town and a twenty minute drive from Deadsman's Cay Airport (airport code LGI). Clarence Town has a convenience store/bakery, gas station, shopping, the new Flying Fish Marina Restaurant & Bar, and Winterhaven Restaurant & Bar. brbrACTIVITIES: swimming, snorkeling, beach-combing/shelling, fishing, diving, kayaking, hiking, exploring the island, sightseeing--checking out plantation ruins, caves and the 663' deep Dean's Blue Hole, Long Island Museum, or just relaxing in the sun. brbrThe possibilities are endless--you'll need more time.brbrAMENITIES: brLinen and towels included.brClothes washer and dryer, iron and ironing board, refrigerator with ice maker, air fry electric range with oven, dishwasher, garbage disposal, microwave oven, toaster, toaster oven, coffee maker, Keurig, bread maker, blender, gas BBQ grill, dishes/utensils(service for 12), pots, pans, etc., 100 plus book library. Sand chairs. TV with Roku streaming stick and Amazon Firestick (sorry, no cable or satellite dish), a selection of DVD movies. High-speed Starlink Internet & WiFi. 3 one-person kayaks and life jackets that are provided and required for kayak use. Bone fishing guide information available.brbrArea: Clarence Town, the capital of Long Island and the principle harbour on the east coast of Long Island, is one of the prettiest settlements in the Bahamas and has 2 twin-spired churches with a most interesting history as they were both designed and built by the late Father Jerome, an architect and religious figure well known throughout the Bahamas. You can visit both churches and it is possible to climb the narrow passage up into the towers of St. Peter and Paul's Catholic Church for a spectacular view of Clarence Town, the harbour and dock, Atlantic Ocean, and the Lochabar Beach area and cays. Long Island is for adventurous-type people who love remote places.
