Are all good and basically the cuisine is specialized in fish based on the local olive oil named Taggiasca which is cultivated on the hills behind the coast from Albenga to the french border since the old years 1200. The nearest to our apartments is the Biblos, but wolking along the sea border for about 500 meters you will find some more and all very good.brThe above mentioned sea-front promenade, with pedestrian side and By cicle track runs along the resort for about 1 mile, and if you wish use a bycicle the track will take you to Sanremo and further on for 30 Km east to Imperia . Bycicles on rent just near the old and no more in use Railway station.brbrAPARTMENTS SOLARIA 1 & 2 “ in OSPEDALETTI brDescriptionbrbr The 2 next door apartments “SOLARIA 1 and SOLARIA 2 are located in Ospedaletti, which is a very pretty little seaside resort situated on middle way between Sanremo and Bordighera on the Ligurian Riviera of Flowers. There is a nice promenade, beautiful luxurious gardens, tennis club and an additional 1 mile sea long promenade with palm trees and since this year a new bicycle track which connect it with Sanremo and further on for 30 km east side until Imperia always on the sea side. All type of bicycles are on rent in different points along the track, the first one at 200 Mt from SOLARIA. In the resorts all shops are available and a couple of them also provide on request home service for alimentary. The best of Ospedaletti is anyway its particularly mild climate during the winter months. Ospedaletti owing to its fortunate position protected by the hills from the north winds enjoys at least 5 degree centigrade of temperature more then Sanremo itself.brbrBoth our two holiday apartments are situated next door to each other on the 5th and top floor of the building Rosengarden 1 which is situated in a luxurious private Mediterranean garden right facing the Ligurian sea.brThe two apartments situated at about half a mile from the resort centre have been recently completely refurbished and are very comfortably fully furnished, including colour TV, washing machine (for linen). In both of them there are two double bedrooms, one of them with large double bed facing the sea, a second one with twin beds on the rear/garden side and one with bunk beds, living-room  with divan/sofa bed for two, kitchen corner, eating table, also facing the sea. Fully equipped bathroom, one of them with a large shower box, 13 sm. terrace overlooking the sea, furnished with table, chairs and lying chair. About 25 km each way. West side. Going there you are in the middle of the Cote d'Azur mondanity. You can stop the car just in front of the famous Casino. Parking spaces with entrances all sides of the gardens. All around the Casino you can see the most exclusive moda shops. You can have also a small lunch at the Caffè de Paris just in front of the Casino at a reasonable cost.brAfter, you can take a public bus close the Hotel Hermitage, on your right side looking to the Casino indication on the bus: MONACO VILLE and you go up to the end and you will be in Monaco Ville. Here, looking at the indications you can see the Prince Palast and visit the famous Acquarium. To come back starting from the same point where you stopped you can take the bus back to the CASINO. I suggest not to use the car visiting Monaco and Montecarlo becouse of the traffic and the many one way streets.br2) VENTIMIGLIA Fryday morning market. This is the largest market on this area. My suggestion is to go there either by public bus or by train. In case of train remember that Ospedaletti has got no more the railway station so you should use your car either to Bordighera or Sanremo (¾ Km) and catch the train from there. May I suggest Bordighera easier to reach and more parking facilities.br3) NERVIA VALLEY.About 20 Km each way. This is a very interesting day and you can use your car for this excursion. You should drive first to Bordighera, passing along the old Via Romana until the resort of Vallecrosia and after it you will find the bridge over the river Nervia (no water during dry summers) and after the bridge turn on your right. You will first cross the town of Camporosso, but the most interesting for the visitors is the next village of DOLCEACQUA. Here it pays to stop the car and visit both the new as well the old part of the village. The modern part is on your left driving from the coast, while the old part will be on your right side over the river. This side is the most interesting and you can reach it using either one of the two bridges on the river, either the modern one or the old one. and after you can walk along the old and small alleys (locally called “carruggi)”.br4) Close to the modern bridge, there is the main church which pays a visit, and next to it in the small square you can see a restaurant, which is a quite good one where you can try some of the tipical ligurian dishes, such as “Ravioli al sugo”, and “Coniglio alla Ligure” (Rabbit).Very good local wines are the “Rossese” red wine suitable with roasted meets, and “Vermentino” dry white wine very good with fish. brBefore leaving Dolceacqua do not forget to visit the (now restored) OLD CASTLE of Prince Doria who were a Noble family originated from Genoa owning this part of Liguria during the middle age time.brbr Another two interesting villages after Dolceacqua are Rocchetta Nervina and Apricale, and after, still driving inside the valley, you can find Pigna and over still Castel Vittorio and the last one will be Buggio. In all of these villages you can find plenty of small restaurants (trattorie) each with good food accompanied by the local wines which are the Rossese (red) and the Vermentino (dry White). brbr5) TAGGIA & THE ARGENTINA VALLEY: Drive first trough Sanremo and after to Arma di Taggia. When you will find a large roundabout turn left direction in-land. Driving along the small stream Rio Argentina head north in the valley. You can make a short stop in the Villages along the itinerary such as Badalucco and Molini di Triora. In each one of them you will find good trattorie (restaurants) where to stop for trying the local gastronomy. In Badalucco for instance, if you are lucky you could find a plate called in local dialect “Branda Cujun” which is a very tastefull speciality based on stockfish. Triora situated about 30 km. Inland at about 900 mt. Above the sea level is famous for the middle age legend of the process of the witches and there is still a little museum dedicated.brbrWishing you a very pleasant holiday in Ospedaletti br Giuseppe Pirronebryour Land Lordbrbr

One is the Alexandra bar located right in front of the former Grande Albergo Regina, now transformed into private apartments. Next to the Regina, in the middle of a garden, you can see what was the first Casino in Italy during the 1800s/early 1900s, unfortunately today in a state of abandonment. Recently the Municipality acquired the property and there is a project to use this site for tourist/social functions such as concerts, conferences, events, etc.brIn front of the Regina there are the public gardens with tennis courts and children's games. Turning left going west of Bar Alexandra you will find the pharmacy in case of need.brOther cafes/bars and restaurants are found especially on the seafront where the second and new seaside promenade runs. All the different restaurants are of excellent quality and mostly specialized in Ligurian seafood cuisine based on fish and Taggiasca quality olive oil which is cultivated on the hills behind the arch of the Riviera dei Fiori from Albenga to the border with France since The most close to our apartments, these restaurants are Biblos, but walking along the promenade you will come across several others, all of excellent quality.brThe aforementioned seaside promenade, recently built after the moving of the ancient railway line into the tunnel and which runs at the base of the town for approximately 1500 metres, includes docks facing the sea, a pedestrian area and a cycle path which extends from Ospedaletti towards east, today up to Imperia PM always along the coast, passing through Sanremo and all the other tourist centers in the area. Bicycles of different types for hire are available near the old railway station no longer in use and along the entire route.brPossible excursions from small hospitalsbr1) Monaco/Monte Carlo. About 35 km. West direction. With this excursion you will be at the center of the social life of the French Riviera. You can stop your car in front of the famous Casino in the car parks located under the Gardens and you can visit the most elegant fashion shops located around the Casino itself. You can also stop at the Caffè de Paris (left facing the Casino entrance) and have a drink or even a small refreshment. Afterwards we recommend going to the opposite side of the square next to the Hermitage Hotel where there is a bus stop for Monaco Ville, with which you will reach the seat of the Principality, which you can explore on foot and where you can visit the famous Aquarium. Once back at the stopping point, wait for the bus with the sign Casino which will take you back to the starting point. If you are not familiar with it, it is not advisable to venture by car due to traffic and one-way streets and tunnels, even if they have excellent directions.br2) Ventimiglia. Friday market: This is the most important local market on the Riviera where you can find everything at a good price. We recommend going by public bus or train. In the latter case, since the Ospedaletti station is no longer in operation, you have to go by train to Bordighera or Sanremo and take the train from there. In Ventimiglia another visit worthy of interest is the one dedicated to the Hambury Botanical Gardens, but given the size of the Gardens themselves it is advisable to do it on a separate day. Even these gardens which are a legacy from an English scholar in love with the Riviera dei Fiori, in which he had collected plants and flowers found all over the world and which today are managed by the Institute of Ligurian Studies on behalf of the Liguria Region. Summer visiting hours: 09.30-19.00, entry cost €09.br3) Bordighera. About 4 km. To the west of Ospedaletti you will find yourself in another famous tourist location on the Riviera dei Fiori, discovered by the English aristocracy in 1800 thanks also to the famous book Doctor Antonio set there written by Domenico Ruffini which tells a sweet but tragic story of love between a young daughter of an aristocratic English family and a Sicilian doctor, blossomed among the flowers and gardens and palm trees of this romantic city. In addition to the central street, it is advisable to see the Via Romana, a more internal parallel street that can be reached by turning right into Corso Italia in front of the train station and the beautiful seaside promenadebrAlso interesting is a visit to the Birknel Museum (on the Via Romana) where you can see the rock writings found by this English researcher on Mount Begu and in the Valley of Wonders, as well as a garden with centuries-old trees which have become part of the Forestry Heritage of the Italian State and managed by the Institute of Ligurian Studies.br4) Taggia And The Argentina ValleybrDrive east through Sanremo to Arma di Taggia. Once you reach a large roundabout with the Valle Argentina written in wrought iron, turn left towards the land. Driving along the course of the Argentina Torrent you enter this valley dotted with numerous medieval villages that are still heavily inhabited today, such as Badalucco and Molini di Triora. In each of these there are excellent trattorias where it is possible to taste typical products of the Ligurian countryside cuisine, such as Ravioli with sauce, Ligurian rabbit as well as the typical tasty Branda Cujun etc. After Molini di Triora you can reach Triora located approximately 900 meters above sea level. This typical hilltop town has become famous for the legend linked to witches and you can visit a small dedicated museum.br5) Val Nervia. Approximately 20 km. This excursion offers an interesting day and can be done using your own car. Drive first towards Bordighera, then passing along the Via Romana up to the town of Vallecrosia after which you will arrive at the bridge over the Nervia stream (without water during the summer months), after the bridge turn right. The first town you will cross is Camporosso but the most interesting place is the next town Dolceacqua. Here it is worth stopping for a visit to the old part of the town, which is located on the right side of the river, going towards the mountains. While the modern part is on the opposite side. To go to the old part you can cross the two bridges, the new one or the old one and then it is worth taking a tour of the alleys of the old part, locally called carruggi.brNear the modern bridge there is the patronal church which is worth visiting and next to it there is a restaurant where you can taste local specialties such as Ravioli with sauce or Ligurian rabbit accompanied by local Rossese wine, while the other wine always locally produced called Vermentino goes best with fish.brBefore leaving Dolceacqua, pay another visit to the Old Castle which in the past belonged to the family of the Doria princes of Genoa who in their time dominated this part of Liguria.brbr Two other interesting villages to visit after Dolceacqua are Rocchetta Nervinabr and Apricale and then further and further into the Pigna valley and Castel Vittorio.brHappy Holiday
