There is nothing better than seeing an Iowa sunset or viewing the stars in rural Iowa or perhaps enjoying a calm camp fire. This cabin does offer and has a full display of Iowa’s natural resources inclusive of deer, turkeys, ducks and geese. Of course we realize this may not be for all but feel optimistic for those that do will enjoy it!brGuest accessbrWhen traveling to our cabin, it’s best to come from county road Z34/435th avenue to 133rd street as some GPS models have taken people to areas not ideal. Note - there is about a 1/2 mile or so of a county gravel road which is common for rural Iowa.

The original Frank Lloyd Wright cottage (Seth Petersen) is the inspiration to build this cottage.brbrWhen you walk in, you still feel like you`re outside. The flying roof with only the glass to hold it up. The original structure was built in 1959, we tried to create the 50`s feel with retro appliances and a space age feel (in the bathroom).brbrOnce you`re all set we`ll provide instructions how to access the key pad with your door code. Or, in other words no need to find us or where the key is hidden, rather punch in your code and wa-la the door unlocks.brbrWe both work, but, we are around in the evenings and weekends. Only five minutes away if you have questions or concerns.brbrHello, this is a remote cabin, or cottage in the woods perched on the bluff side overlooking a valley. When you stay, you will start at the bottom of the valley and drive all the way up to the top. This is where the cabin (or cottage) is located. Wildlife, trees, very peaceful as you are quite alone. No neighborhood for many miles.brbrYou must have a automobile. This is a country cottage experience. The closest township is St. Donatus and good 1.5 mile hike.brbrYou`ll be over a mile away from the nearest township. Plan on being quite alone. I will recommend to go HyVee in Dubuque on Locust street. Quite a large selection (the flagship store in Dubuque) of food and spirits. Only 12 minutes away.brIf winter booking, automobile must have front wheel or all wheel drive.brNo climbing on bluffsbrNo outdoor shoes, bring inside shoes.

It is 1 block away from the Mississippi River and within walking distance to local shops, restaurants bars, parks, and walking trails. The local grocery store is located directly across the street. Well behaved pets are welcome. The backyard is completely fenced in. NO SMOKING INSIDE.brbr2 night minimum stay for summer Friday and/or Saturday night bookings. brbrWe are located along the Canadian Pacific Railroad and there will be trains going by.brThe space: Bedroom 1 has 1 queen and 1 twin with a trundle bed underneath. (VRBO only has an option to select bunk bed. It is not a bunk)brbrBedroom 2 has 1 twin bed.brbrIn the living room is a sleeper sofa and TV.brbrThe kitchen is fully stocked with pots and pans, baking dishes, mixing bowls, measuring utensils, muffin tins, popcorn supplies, tea and coffee supplies, slow cooker, pitchers, children's plates and sippy cups, as well as the standard dinnerware. There is a full size gas grill available upon request for guest use.brbrLaundry and supplies are available to use as needed in the home.brbrOur place has ramps in the front and back, no steps in the home, and a walk in shower.brbrThe brick side of the home is a separate unit with a long term tenant.brbrGuest access: You will have access to the entire yard. There are no shared common areas.brbrOther things to note: Our home is located along the Canadian Pacific Railroad, running straight through the middle of Bellevue. This is an active railroad with trains going through at random times throughout the day/night. Please do not take stars away from your review based on the location along the tracks as we are upfront that there are trains going through. Most guests are not bothered by it. It is a huge part of Bellevue and runs through the entire town.brbrWe try to accommodate early check in or late check out as much as possible. Please reach out if you need this and we will do our best to help out. We also request that no shoes be worn in the home. If you need shoes inside, please plan ahead and bring shoes that are only used inside. This prevents tracking in stuff from outside and taking a toll on the floors.
