You can walk straight from the door (the footpath starts 100yrds down the road) across the hills more or less through the set of Far From the Madding Crowd. The cottage is in the grounds of Wantsley Farm, a lovely family farmhouse which has 17 acres of rolling hills and woodland (also available for hire). The cottage has a kingsize bed in the master bedroom, complete with roll-top bath, and 2 single beds in the other, with a pull out bed for a 5th person. Oak floors throughout, exposed beams, a wood-burning stove and French windows make the cottage light and airy in the summer months and delightfully cosy in the winter. Due to the close proximity of a thatched roof I'm afraid it's no BBQ's. brGuest Access: Guests have access to the farms fields, streams, the woodland and can walk (100yds down the road to the footpath) over the hill to the local pub in nearby Stoke Abbott. Spare linen will be in the cottage, maid service will be weekly. brInteraction with Guests.
