Today the fortress houses a museum and is home to changing history and art exhibitions, there is also a park in the grounds where you can stop off for a rest. Other sights include the National Museum of Medieval and Modern Art and The Basilica of Saint Francis which is a church packed with frescoes and Renaissance art works.
