Spectacular Views, Miles of Beaches, and Boat Trips, 4 Star Luxury Home

Dingle, County Kerry, Ireland

Close to the Wild Atlantic Way route, Dunroman house was purpose built as a luxury four star Irish Tourist Board approved guest-house. It has operated as a guest-house until 2011 and due to change of circumstances is now available for vacation rental. It is located next door to the owner’s private accommodation. There are four spacious bedrooms, all with en-suite recently refurbished private bathrooms. The three largest rooms each have a double queen size bed and a single bed, and the fourth room has one double queen size bed. A childrens cot / crib is available as is an adjustable high chair. All the bedrooms are tastefully decorated with clean white paintwork and beautiful knotted French pine wooden floors. All the rooms in the house comply with the Irish Tourist Board four star guesthouse standards.brLinen and towels are supplied, as are all utilities, and some basic foodstuff such as tea and coffee etc.brThe house is located in a quite country setting, beside the N86, 3 miles / 5 Km from the town of Dingle, 27 miles 45 Km from Tralee and 40 miles / 66 Km from Killarney. There are some spectacular mountain scenes from the bedroom windows and the sea and many beautiful beaches are only minutes away. brbrDingle peninsula stretches out into the Atlantic Ocean and is surrounded by the warm waters of the Gulf stream. This results in a very temperate mild climate where exotic plants are common and many rare fish are found around this part of the coast.brThe peninsula has some of the most scenic walking tracks in the country, the “Dingle Way” probably being the best known among walkers. The Dingle peninsula has numerous prehistoric archaeological sites of great historical interest and a guided archaeological tour can be easily arranged. Experience unique gems such as the 9th century Gallurus Oratory, and the early christian beehive huts. In more modern times, Dingle peninsula is famous for being the location of “Ryan’s Daughter” the David Lean- Bob Mitchum- Sarah Miles film made in 1969 and “Far and Away” the 1992 film starring Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman.brThe Dingle peninsula has been voted “the most beautiful place on Earth” by the National Geographic. It has also been voted one of the top 100 destinations in the world and has been recently recommended by CNN as a very favourable winter destination.brThe peninsula offers some of Ireland’s most beautiful scenery, rugged and raw, wild and untamed. Parts of the peninsula are still Gaelic speaking, and all of the peninsula is extremely welcoming to visitors. brVarious boat tours can be arranged in advance for our guests, such as a guided one hour harbour tour, a guided marine eco tour to the Blasket islands, a trip to land on the Great Blasket island for two and a half hours. Weather permitting, of course, for all trips. For more details check out our website at Dingle Boat Tours.brbrbrDeep sea angling trips can also be arranged and all gear is provided on the boats. Some of our guests like to catch their own fish and then cook it back in Dunroman for dinner - you can’t get fresher than that! For the committed angler, there are numerous shore angling spots that are good for bass, pollock, mackerel, wrasse etc. If your preference is lobster, crab or crayfish, the owners can arrange to buy it fresh from the boats for you to cook for that special meal.brbrDingle town is 3 miles / 5 Kilometres from Dunroman. It is a small town with a native population of 1,600 which swells to 5,000-6,000 during the summer. Dingle is renowned for punching above its weight in many respects, and is known all over the world as one of the primary holiday destinations in Ireland. At one time the town boasted 52 pubs, but this has reduced somewhat over the recent years. There are still some old world traditional pubs that have remained unchanged for hundreds of years- hardware on one side of the saloon, bar counter on the other side. Many of Dingle’s pubs have free entertainment most nights, usually traditional music and song. Dingle is probably one of the top gourmet destinations in Ireland, and was awarded 'foodie town of Ireland' in 2014, with its many award winning restaurants. Many of the bigger bars also do really good value meals, lunches and dinners. The Dingle Food and Wine Festival held over the first weekend of October is always a very well attended and popular event. Dingle, or “ Daingean Uí Chúis” in Gaelic, was established 700 years ago as a Norman walled town. Some of the old town wall is still visible. It was once a major commercial port doing trade with Spain and Portugal back in the 18th. and 19th centuries, and since then an important fishing port, but over recent decades, Dingle has become the primary tourist destination of South West Ireland, since the early 70's when the MGM movie 'Ryans Daughter' was shot here.brbrbrbrDingle aquarium is probably the best of its kind in Ireland. The vast array of local sealife is featured, as well as an amozonian section. There is a shark tank, an underwater glass viewing tunnel, and the most recent addition is a penguin enclosure. There is also a well stocked souvenir shop and a coffee shop. brbrThere are numerous activities for young and old available, both indoor and outdoor. For those who just want to relax and wind down, there are beautiful walks through the surrounding country lanes, where the only traffic you are likely to meet is a farmer going about his work, who most likely will stop and talk to you for a while. brYou can have all your holiday activities pre-arranged for you by the owners, or you can 'play it by ear' as they say here. The choice is yours, but whatever your plans, Tom and Noeline will do their best to ensure that you go back home relaxed and happy with your stay. brbrKeywords: Dunroman was purpose built as a 4 star luxury guesthouse, now available for rental, amid a backdrop of spectacular mountain views, and only minutes from miles of sandy beaches.

ATLANTIC REST -Panoramic views Slea Head, Skelligs

Dingle, County Kerry, Ireland

The guests will have full use of the entire house and grounds. The house is situated beside the sea amid the most stunning coastal scenery of the Wild Atlantic Way. Indeed it is just beside the Signature Point ‘Ceann Sleibhe’ (Slea Head), indicating that it is one of the most beautiful parts of the amazing driving route. It is also on the Slea Head Drive, a beautiful driving route on the Dingle Peninsula, and just below the Dingle Way (Slí Chorca Dhuibhne), a terrific walking trail. It is surrounded by archaeological monuments, and by a working sheep farm. Views to the south-east, across Dingle Bay, of Carrantuohill, the highest mountain in Ireland, south across to the Iveragh Peninsula and west to the Blasket Islands (which can be reached by ferry from Dún Chaoin (Dunquin), only 4 miles down the road. Choughs and gannets abound in this area, and you might be lucky and even see a pod of dolphins passing. brIf you have an interest in film, you would like to know that some of ‘Far and Away’, starring Tom Cruise, was shot here, and much of ‘Ryan’s Daughter’ was shot nearby. More recently, ‘The Last Jedi’, of the Star Wars series, was shot only a few miles away – so they have certainly recognised how beautiful the area is!brThe Dingle Peninsula has probably the greatest concentration of archaeological monuments of any part of Ireland, and they are here for you to discover. Your host will be able to advise on visiting many sites, from Bronze Age to Medieval.brAccommodation in the house consists of 4 bedrooms 2 with bathrooms en suite, 4 of which are doubles (3 king) and 2 have a single bed as well as a double. There is a downstairs bathroom with shower and jacuzzi bath. The downstairs consists of a large kitchen/dining room, large sitting room, entrance hall and main hall, utility room and one bedroom as well as the bathroom.brYour host, Aedán, has lived here all his life, and comes from a long line of farmers who have worked this land for centuries. He is very knowledgeable about living in the area, and can suggest plenty of excursions and activities for you. His family live nearby and will also be on-hand to offer advice and information. brNo wi-fi provided – the downside of being in a remote, beautiful area, surrounded by mountains! So a good place to escape from the hurley-burley of modern life. You can listen to the waves breaking on the cliffs below, and to the many birds which pass by. On clear nights the vista of a huge, starry sky is entrancing.brThere is ample off-road parking beside the house, but no public transport in the area, so a car (or bike for the hardy!) is necessary. brEnglish and Irish spoken. Basic French and Spanish.brThis area has inspired poets and artists – come and see what it might do for you!
