As a child, when I was coming from Paris to spend my two months of summer holidays in Calella (my mother is from this village), I felt like I was in paradise. Leaving this place was always a wrench. Today I live there all year round (when I'm not travelling...which I often do) and I still have that privileged feeling of being, in this house, in paradise.

In fact, on the heights of Calella de Palafrugell, one of the most beautiful seaside villages, is located, in a small dead-end street(therefore very quiet), the villa ENTRE CIEL ET MER, a house built in 1978 by my parents on the highest hill of Calella's seaside (100 m above sea level). With a surface area of 180 M2, it was built on two floors and completely renovated in 2017 and 2018. The villa has the peculiarity and the unique chance to have a double view: on the sea but also on the green countryside with impressive sunsets.

During its renovation, I wished to highlight the extraordinary potential of this house, choosing to enlarge the windows and to put only one pane of glass per window, making each one a living tableau, changing according to the time of day and the mood of the weather. I also chose not to install the air conditioning because it has a detrimental impact on health but also on the environment because it is responsible for the increase in greenhouse gases. On the other hand, there are very beautiful ceiling fans in each room and in the living room, which are very efficient and extremely noiseless. This villa is perfect for one or two families. Ideally for 6 people but can accommodate up to 8 people.

• On the ground floor you will find:

- An entrance hall
- A TV lounge/library. This room, full of photo books, has a flat-screen TV, fixed on an articulated arm that can be watched from the sofa or in bed. This sofa can be transformed, if necessary, into a double bed (1m40 wide), with a very high quality bed, with a view of the garden and the countryside.
- There is a large open-plan kitchen overlooking the dining room and the garden. The induction hob is located on the central island facing the dining room, allowing you to cook while being with family or friends.
- A dining room with a large table for 6 or 8 people.
- A large living room separated from the dining room by a fireplace with glasses on both sides. It gives access to a large terrace.
- The terrace which in the summer (and often even out of season) allows us to eat outside on a table for 8/10 people with, always, a splendid view of the sea and the countryside.
- A shower/toilet room.

- On the 1st floor with a oak parquet flooring:
- A work desk with a breathtaking view of the sea.
- A bedroom with 2 beds (90cm wide each) that can be transformed into a 180cm wide double bed. This room offers an exceptional view of the sea.
- A bedroom with a 140 cm wide matrimonial bed, with its small private terrace overlooking the garden and the countryside.
- A shower/toilet room for these two bedrooms.
- A suite with its private shower room. The bed in the centre of the room faces two large windows, one with a magnificent view of the sea and the other of the countryside. In the centre of these 2 windows a delightful bathtub offers the possibility of a moment of relaxation in front of the beauty of nature. A gas fireplace insert that gives a romantic atmosphere to the room. A sliding bay window gives access to a large private terrace with 2 deck chairs for an afternoon of reading or a romantic aperitif.

• In the 800 m2 Mediterranean garden, with its olive trees, cork oaks and its umbrella pine, which fortunately withstood the storm Gloria in January 2020 :
- A beautiful paved terrace with a large antique round marble table for 6/8 people. And garden furniture offering moments of relaxation to read a good book accompanied by the song of crickets and cicadas, or to have an aperitif during a magnificent sunset or under a light garland offering romantic evenings. The outdoor lighting, like the swimming pool, is switched on automatically at around 9pm and off at 1am.

• A 12.50m X 3m swimming pool that allows you to go for real lengths for those who really love to swim.

• At the foot of the house you have the possibility to park two cars.

• Please note that next to the garage (so under the house) there is a small flat, totally independent from the house, with an entrance opposite to that of the villa, in which my cousin Victor lives who is responsible for maintaining the garden and the swimming pool. As well as watching over the house (even though the area is extremely safe), he will be happy, if necessary, to respond to any queries you may have if a problem should arise in the house. During the rentals his discretion will be such that you will not even notice his presence.

• From the house you can go down in 10 minutes, by the typical stairs of the village, to the Golfet beach, the closest beach to the house, still wildly beautiful and somewhat far from the centre of the small village of Calella de Palafrugell. You can continue on foot, following the path along the seaside, which is very protected and fortunately spared by the concreting. You can admire the pine trees balancing on the rocky cliffs that surround the many small coves with translucent waters. On one side you will go to Calella (30 min), formerly a fishing village, considered to be one of the most beautiful places in Catalonia, with its white houses, its labyrinth of cobbled streets and its wooden fishing boats called menorquinas. And on the other you can go to the Castell beach (1h40 walk under the pine trees) located at the foot of a small archaeological site of an Iberian village dating from the 6th century BC.

Excellent communication with Miquel and Isabelle before we arrived and during our stay as needed. Super house, and such a beautiful location. Loved exploring the wild and almost empty beaches around Cap Roig, and feeling fitter after climbing the steps back up from town/ el Golfet once or twice a day. Extremely well equipped house and especially the kitchen. Thank you for sharing your lovely home with us, we hope to be back again!

Exceptional spacious villa with a breathtaking (almost 360) view of the sea, the village and the green hills. The main floor (and also the 2nd floor bedrooms) flooded with light and absolutely well equipped in the open-plan kitchen. Modern furniture mixed with local and personal things and memories, the house is decorated with amazing photographs, you can feel the very special personality and history of the villa which made us feel very comfortable. We loved the pool and the length which truly encouraged serious swimming, and also the beautiful landscape around which was ideal for hiking, trail running and biking. Perfect location for active people, but also ideal to simply relax. The onboarding and communication with Miquel was very easy, welcoming and supportive, he really cared about us.We can only recommend this villa and are looking forward to coming back one day.

Stayed for a week in June with my husband and 3 college-aged children. in advance was excellent. Drove in from a wedding in Provence and it took us 3.5 hours from St. Remy. We were looking for a place that would allow us central access to Barcelona, Girona, & the mountains, but also provided some peace. We do not like to stay in locations with a line of hotels. This was perfect! We had excellent information & a quick response time with question. The house was well equipped & had everything we needed. The pool was awesome! Salt water so good for the skin & so warm with a nice outdoor shower. We enjoyed most meals on the terrace that looked out on the sea and each night was comfortable to play cards and games there as well. Heaven! We loved being able to see the sunrise out front and the sunset in the back. We did not realize that the holiday of St. John was the week we went and it was fun to see the fireworks around town. Location worked GREAT! The last hill to the house, I will not lie, was hard to walk up each day, but I would not have traded it for the spectacular view & would do it again! The hill is the highest over palafrugell & the pictures do not do justice to the home or the views. Everything was clean, well-maintained, & beautiful. A standard in Europe, there is no AC, but hilltop location provided wonderful breezes. Girona - 45 minutes away, Barcelona - 1 hour and 20 minutes. Don’t miss the botanical garden -11” walk! All in all, a wonderful stay.

From start to end, our onboarding and stay at this magical property was exactly what we were seeking for a multi-generational family holiday. Miquel was responsive throughout with thoughtful and precise insight into the area. The house is beautifully appointed and has all we needed to have meals, relax and work remotely. We have created warm memories from our stay that we will hold onto. What a wonderful retreat in this very special part of the Costa Brava.

This was a perfect weeklong stay with three couples. The house is exactly as described, if not even better! The views from every room are unparalleled, and the kitchen was well equipped with everything we needed to fix a meal when we didn't want to dine out at the many amazing restaurants nearby. Miquel and Isabelle were excellent hosts, thoughtfully checking in on us via message, leaving a thorough guide to the house and the town, and even helping recommend a boat charter service! Note: A car (or rented moped as one of my sisters did) is recommended -- It's a steep 15-minute walk back from the closest (beautiful) beach, and a quick drive into town. Walking is possible but there are some steep hills back to the house which make walking not particularly pleasant.

A wonderful property with fantastic views from every window and a beautiful setting. The house has been extremely well designed to make the most of its location with lots of relaxing sitting out spaces inside and out. The interior is very stylish - full of interesting books and artefacts - and the pool is superb with a lovely length for proper swimming. Communication was excellent throughout. Would highly recommend this property and we felt privileged to stay at Miquel and Isabelle’s lovely home. Would mention that we enjoyed the walk to and from Calella but it is a fairly energetic climb back up the hill in case anyone considering staying without a car.

Beautiful house, amazing views. Loved the pool. About 20min downhill walk to beach and town (does entail walking back up hill at end of day of course) We had a great time and hope to be back again in the future. Favorite parts per my 11 year old - loved the ice cream and the beds were comfortable Per my 13 year old - I liked the pool and the house and the restaurants Per my other 11 year old - the pool was super fun and never too cold so we could swim everyday, I also really like the restaurants Per my husband - fantastic location for a bit of privacy and amazing walks and runs along the Cami De Ronda, and down to the beautiful secluded beaches. Incredible view all day of the sea, country side, occasional thunder storm.I could sit out on the balcony all day!

We had an amazing stay at Miquel and Isabelle’s home. The house is incredible with unique details and decor from all of the world. The views are truly amazing of the sea and mountains. We enjoyed many meals on the terrace and around the large dinning table. It is well located in Costa Brava with an active walking path right out the door, only a 15 minute walk into town, and a quick car ride to the next villages. We explored by foot, car, and even rented motos one day. Miquel and Isabelle were quick to response and were well prepared for our visit. They even created a full book of recommendations in the area! I would recommend this place to all our friends and anyone who looks to stay in La Costa Brava. I hope to stay again soon!! Thank you Miquel and Isabelle.
