Vila Hortensia-With Private Pool and Beaches Front

A wonderful villa overlooking the sea and exactly as shown in the photos. Short walk down 100+ steps to the beach, bars and restaurants and the local town. Mid-way between the old town of Dubrovnik and the airport makes this a great location without any need for a long journeys in any direction. 15 minute walk to the local suoermarket but a small convenience store and bakery virtually opposite. MATO, our host, was very discreet despite living on the top floor but was always contactable by phone and there when needed. If we have a large family holiday again l can't think that we'd go anywhere else. (the neighbours cat made himself very much at home - probably because we encouraged him)

Mato dealt with our questions very quickly both before we arrived and during our stay ... the whole visit was excellent.

This was the perfect home for us for our long awaited trip to Croatia delayed by two years due to Covid. The layout gave us plenty of space to spread out but had lovely indoor and outdoor areas for gathering comfortably together. The kitchen(s) were clean and well stocked with all the glassware, utensils and cooking equipment needed. We prepared half of our dinners at home using the grill and dining al fresco by the pool which was great in avoiding having to rely on restaurants for every evening meal. Good grocery store within walking distance. Washer/dryer and dishwasher were efficient and very handy. Mato our host was amazing! He helped us with so much more than just making sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed within the house. He arranged an all day boat trip for us which was the highlight of our trip. The town of Mlini is so quaint and quiet but very close to busy Dubrovnik easily accessible by public transport. I would highly recommend this property for family or friends!

We rented this villa for a week in Sept. It's a fantastic villa with stunning views and very clean. It's in a great location for restaurants, beach, supermarket, bakery. The villa owner Mato was fantastic, very welcoming and could not do enough to help us, he is a star. The villa has lots of steps so wouldn't be suitable for anyone with walking difficulties but everything else was great.

4 of my friends and I arrived and were met at the airport by an Uber organised by Mato the landlord- the property is fantastic. It consists of 2 appts on one level interlinked by an internal door, then on the level below by the pool has a large kitted out gym, toilet with shower and larger kitchen with inside table and chairs and also outside eating covered by a veranda beside the pool. The views are as the photos show-fabulous with a slight breeze. The appts have mostly memory foam mattresses, constant hot water, fully equipped and very spacious. There are 2 sets of steps to the promenade along by the waters edge and its a 5 min walk to old and new towns where there are cafes, restaurants and bars. The small local supermarket is 2mins walk and a larger supermarket is in the shopping centre in new town-10 mins walk. Mate was a fabulous host-he organised a private boat trip for one of our days and it was SOO worth the sl extra costing. Nothing was too much trouble for him to help us with including ordering Uber’s . I couldn’t recommend staying here highly enough and even when 2 more friends joined us it never felt overcrowded. The bus stop is outside the property and Uber and water buses are all so easy. Fabulous location for exploring.

This property is fantastic for a family with children or 2 families staying together. There is a safe path down to the beach and when you get down to the seafront there are bars, parks, restaurants and water sports, some safe snorkelling and swimming as well as regular boats to Dubrovnik. The villa is great. Gorgeous pool and views. Either one large family can be together or there are 2 kitchens and bathrooms organised so that you could go as 2 families and have a little privacy if required. Mato could not be a better host. He is unobtrusive but really helpful if you want lifts or trips organised. Highly recommend.

We loved this villa, particularly the extensive space outside; there is a shaded dining table and comfortable chairs a few steps away from the main kitchen. A lovely pool surrounded by good quality wooden decking which was comfortable underfoot. The outdoor space is private and secluded because of the mature trees on the edges of the garden, which also give welcome shade for parts of the day. My favorite spot is the bench which is situated in the furthest corner of the garden, overlooking the the harbour and beautiful deep turquoise sea; a perfect, relaxing place for a drink or quiet moment - which can be useful when holidaying in a large group of people. we found Villa Hortensia met all our needs, and the owner, Mato, was very welcoming and helpful. Hereby warmly recommended.

Great location near shops, bars and restaurants. Minutes walk away (down stairs) from the sea and amazing playgrounds for kids of different ages. Stunning views from the apartment. We were a family of 5 - 2 grandparents; 2 parents and a 2 year old child . We had privacy if we needed or a communal area. Place was immaculately clean. Close to Dubrovnik and airport. Mato our host was charming and knowledgable about the area . Recommend this apartment very highly.

Five of us spent a wonderful 10 days at the villa in early September. Everything is brand new and it is well equipped, spotlessly clean, very comfortable and spacious. There is a kitchen, bathroom and shower on the ground floor, which is very useful when spending time around the pool area, where there are plentiful sunbeds and seating areas - and a beautiful sea view that you would never tire of. Mato, is the perfect host and provided us with much local information. We took him up on his offer of arranging boat hire for the day during which we visited several islands and stopped for swimming and lunch. The villa exceeded our expectations and I wouldn't hesitate to return to Villa Hortensia.
