Stayed Jul 6, 2019My family stayed in this house for a week in July, 2019 and we all fell in love with it. The house is so beautiful, clean, spacious, & comfortable. The yard is huge and the pool is heavenly (seriously- the views from the infinity pool are amazing!!). Even the bathrooms in this house are wonderful. The landscaping/design/artwork both inside and outside is gorgeous. The owners clearly put their hearts into this property. I cannot recommend this house enough The town, Montone, is wonderful as well. Great people, great restaurants, and so very charming. I already want to go back!!!

Stayed Jul 21, 2018This is a really exceptional house for a holiday in Umbria. Beautifully situated on a hill, with an uninterrupted view of the valley and the hills beyond. No near neighbours. The pool is wonderful. At least 15 metres, so long enough for lap swimmers, and easily wide enough for family fun. Table tennis right next to the pool. Incredible view over the valley. Lots of outside sitting areas, huge and well equipped kitchen. Cool inside living areas for when the sun gets too hot. What more could you want?

Stayed Sep 3, 2017We are a family of 5 from London with 3 adult children, and stayed at Casa di Luce the first week of September 2017. We wanted somewhere in Italy with a lot of space, and Casa di Luce was recommended by a friend who had stayed the previous year. We originally booked for late-June but had to change, and Samantha very kindly accommodated the change without penalizing us in spite of the September week being more expensive. I have to say we had the most blissful week in this wonderful, luxurious house. The house is beautiful, it functions so well for summer living, and the setting is unbeatable. The space and the layout was a luxury, and the house itself is beautiful with all modern facilities but finished in stone with lovely traditional flooring. We often find kitchens are not as well-equipped as we’d hope but that was not the case here with everything fully provided. The pool was perfect, if a little cold at this time of year, and the outside space and furniture all lent itself perfectly to relaxed days with no hassle. There are so many places to go in Umbria, beautiful hilltop villages and medieval cities. We didn’t have to travel far to experience some really good quality restaurants in Montone the local village and Gubbio. Samantha was terrific throughout and Paul the house manager was very helpful and professional even though he was on holiday himself that week he was able to help with urgent medical enquiries (!) Of all the places we have stayed in recent years this has been the best experience. The weather was kind so we have come away with great memories of Casa di Luce, the local village Montone and the incredible Perugia.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969We are a family of six all adults. We had a wonderful stay in this house in Umbria in Summer 2016. It was perfect with fantastic views and sun sets from the pool. There was plenty to occupy us all as the house was well equipped or to do very little and just enjoy the sunshine as it was in a very quiet location. The interiors were a mix of modern and quirky. We would love to come and stay again soon.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969My family and I stayed at this wonderful villa at the beginning of August and all are expectations were thoroughly met. The property is situated in a quiet and secluded area nestled in the Umbrian country side with far reaching views over the glorious hills. Nearby hilltop towns of Montone with fantastic restaurants are minutes away by car. All mod cons were included in the villa and the owner of the property really has gone all out to ensure that a most comforable and enjoyable stay is experienced by all who stay. Our family had the most fantastic time here and we would certainly recommend this to others! Thank you once again.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969We chose this house as a place for a post wedding relaxation holiday and our party consisted of family from Australia, Canada, USA and UK. We all loved this house and can not wait to return. The house exceeded our expectations. It has been sensitively and beautifully restored. It's situation on the hillside affords fantastic views of the surrounding rolling countryside and the sunsets from the outside dining loggia are spell binding. The house is well stocked with everything you could want from the bathrooms to the kitchen and there is a beautifully written, highly informative guide to your every need in the area. The local hilltop village a short car ride up from the house is a delight and has a range of delightful places to eat and some small independent food shops. There are plenty of other towns well worth visiting in the area and we were split between the tourists and the pool side team. This was a dream holiday for a group that were in need of relaxation and we all felt so happy and restored by our time at Casa di Luce. It is a very special place.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969The property is beautifully renovated and combines chic modern furnishings and art in an ancient setting. It is incredibly peaceful with wonderful views and garden and a very large pool. We had 2 families of friends with lots of kids and it worked brilliantly well for adults and children. The village of Montone is minutes away and really is magical and there is lots further afield for those who want to site see

Stayed Dec 31, 1969Two families shared this wonderful villa tucked away in the beautiful area of Montone. The villa offers luxurious accommodation with large, airy rooms that remain cool in the heat of the day and present unrivalled views of the breathtaking surrounding countryside. The lavender bushes that lead up to the house give a fabulous fragrance whilst swimming in the infinity pool. With just a short drive to the charming village of Montone, you can enjoy the local restaurants and unspoilt Italian village atmosphere. We bought fresh bread and croissant each morning and supplies from the local market for al fresco dining throughout our stay, though there are also numerous excellent restaurants and cafes nearby if you prefer to dine out. The perfect retreat and a truly exceptional place to re-charge.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969My wife and I (and our dog) are on a 1 year visit to Italy and have been to 17 out of the 20 regions. We have stayed at many fine historic villas and castles and liked many of them. We only had a week at this one and would have loved to stay for a month. It is very private and the restoration work is outstanding. The interior high end furnishings are superb and very similar to our tastes. The local property manage was excellent and made sure our stay was enjoyable. The welcome complete with wine and food was very much appreciated after a long drive from Verona. It's clear the owners love this property very much. We liked it so much, we only left it once during week for lunch. I would recommend this romantic getaway to anyone looking for privacy in a stunning location
