Stayed Dec 31, 1969Exactly as described. An idyllic rural retreat with amazing views across the Tiber Valley within walking distance of a small non-touristy village and with friendly helpful hosts. We wanted peace and quiet for a few days and this is exactly what we got. Casa Avena very functional and has all the amenities you require ! The WiFi works perfectly. Barbecue area and little external pool are amazing. There is 3 TV ( including 1 smart with Netflix ) washing and dishwashing machine. No air conditioning needed a cool breeze from the valley kept the temperature pleasant at night. They also have extra accommodation for biggest group available on request. We are definitely pleased we came and would recommend the location to anyone ! Thank you very much.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969This place is truly amazing! The house is of very high standard and the garden, barbecue place are just wonderful. The landlord was also very helpful and supported us massively in organizing tour in Umbria. On request are available many extra services. I can truly recommend Casa Avena ! Thank you.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969The view alone is spectacular: though only a few minutes from the E45 autostrada (for Rome, Cortona, Gubbio, Assisi, etc.), there is no sight or sound of this from the house. The owner, Giulia, could not have been nicer, and provided us with simple, clear directions for the 20 minute drive from the airport. Instead, you are surrounded by beautiful green Italian countryside. Casa Avena itself is wonderful: traditional and attractive to the exterior; modern and cosy once inside. With one large master bedroom and a single loft bedroom, the house was perfectly sized for our family. Downstairs, the living quarters are large, open, comfortable and clean. Warm days we spent sunning on the private patio (if you have children, the garden beside it is big enough to kick a football around), and cool nights relaxing inside. (there's Sky TV and Wi-Fi). The kitchen is fully-stocked with everything you might need, including a large fridge-freezer, dishwasher and washing machine. As sad as it sounds, the latter was really useful – it's so nice to return home with all your clothes clean! Montone, the nearest town, is tranquil and medieval, and boasts stunning views and several nice restaurants. For our last night, Julia recommended eating at Erba Luna, located in the town's converted horse stables, where my wife and I had the best meal we've had in a long time. All in all, a fantastic holiday, and a place where I look forward to returning.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969I've been for the first time in Umbria and casa Avena was the perfect point to start my holiday. Thanks to Giulia suggestions and the strategic location we discovered very beautiful tipical small town in a greeny area which make a unique scenario unforgettable. The house look fantastic in pictures and even more in real, everything is perfect, kitchen, bedrooom, furnitures it seems a five stars hotel. The area is quiet, far from crowded cities the ideal place to rest and eat tipical regional food. I'll probably come back in another season to enjoy again Casa Avena and Giulia Tips.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969It's always worrying to be one of the first guests at a newly-opened holiday home. At the time of our visit, there were no reviews of Casa Avena – we had only the beautiful pictures as testimony – but we need not have worried. The owner, Giulia, could not have been nicer, and provided us with simple, clear directions for the 20 minute drive from the airport. Our concerns disappeared as soon as we arrived. Stayed Dec 31, 1969We spent to 2 weeks in Casa Avena - lovely house near Montone, this house can accommodate up to 5 people, because it has one separate bedroom, loft room and nice divano-sofa in dining room. The owner, is also extremely helpful - her suggestions for restaurants and day trips are great, better than any guide book. We enjoyed the garden and barbeque every evening. The little midieval town Montone has some incredible restaurants and the house is within 3km distance to the town. Assisi, Perugia, Gubbio, Cortona is about 40 min by car. We would definitely go back again. Wireless internet service is also available for free together with PC Thank you
