Sandrati Villa - Bequia

Good overall, but some minor defects prevent me from rating this property as excellent.

This was a very poor experience. No clothes pins for drying line, main floor bed very low and uncomfortable, door to bedroom doesn’t have clearance, snagging floor, unusual smell on both main and second, separate keys for each area a pain, before apparent water issues, main bathroom piss smell, main floor shower cold water, no counter space main floor. Also note, living in a family with people with physical issues, that any one with mobility issues would have challenges given the severe slope to walk to unit. Lastly, directions to unit useless, no cab knew where to go, a quick reference to Diamond Village next door would have solved that. We messaged the host with these concerns and he only offered late checkout. We asked for at least some financial compensation but he did not respond. Avoid this place at all costs.

My stay at Sandrati Villa in Friendship Bay was delightful. The villa is spacious, beautifully designed, and offers stunning ocean views. The local community’s warmth and hospitality made our experience even more memorable. We felt genuinely welcomed and embraced by the friendly residents of Bequia.

Had a peaceful stay at the Sandrati Villa. Jason (the property manager) was delightful and consistently available with questions. We were allowed to check in early allowing us to visit Princess Margaret beach and Belmont beach sooner! The villa does look like the photos but it is a little worn in real life. The main living room, dining and kitchen does not have AC but you can open the foldable/sliding doors to obtain a natural breeze. The AC units are only in the bedrooms. Thank goodness for AC! The bathroom and beach towels were a little rough but hopefully use of a good fabric softener can rectify that or bring disposable ones! Hot showers were great! We did have to use the bug spray for island ants and a roach! The upper and lower levels are separate so you will have to go outside and up and down steps if your group ever wants to be all together to lounge. Property driveway is on a steep incline! Recommend a rental car because taxi prices are expensive but the roads in Bequia are cliff hangers with no railings so should definitely be a good driver! Our taxi driver, Jason (Big Stowe Taxi) kept us safe! Alternatively, you can try out the local bus that is 2EC. They are packed and hold about 9-12ppl! Bequia is small so you can see a lot including hiking, sailing, beaches, and numerous places to have good local food!

Overall clean and functional. Nice location, great communication from management. Will stay here again.

The villa is perfectly placed for a short drive to the amazing Lower Bay or Princess Margaret beaches. It’s also very close to Friendship bay. The house is up on the hillside and both verandahs look out over the bay. Cindy cleaned the villa and changed all the linens every three days. The villa bathrooms are lovely and the kitchen with its bi-fold doors to the outside is fantastic for breakfast. You do need a car or you need to be prepared to take taxis as the house is a distance from town. We loved Bequia and the lovely people who were always friendly and extremely helpful. We will return I’m sure.
