Where the ocean sets the pace, a private authentic world near Acadia Schoodic Point, away from the crowds of Mount Desert Island.

Set on the edge of Gouldsboro Bay in the working harbor village of Corea, this oceanfront home offers something increasingly rare on the East Coast: space, silence, and an authentic connection to the water.

Located on the Schoodic Peninsula, the quiet, uncrowded side of Acadia National Park, this is where those in the know come to experience Maine asit was meant to be: rugged coastline, lobster boats in the harbor, and days shaped by tide, weather, and light.

The home sits on a private stretch of waterfront with expansive views across the bay. Inside, an open-concept living space is designed to bring the outdoors in, with large windows, natural light, and comfortable gathering areas for family and friends.

Five bedrooms, four and 1/2 baths and a luxury sauna comfortably accommodate up to twelve guests, making it ideal for both quiet retreats and meaningful time together. Ideal for families and couples looking to unplug and reconnect, nature lovers who prefer quiet over crowds, and for those seeking an authentic Maine coastal experience.

What makes this place truly special is the oceanfront setting with direct access to the shoreline. Located in Corea, a historic working lobster village, not a tourist town, 10–15 minutes to Schoodic Point, one of the most dramatic and uncrowded areas of Acadia Panoramic water views and ever-changing coastal light. Peace and privacy that’s increasingly hard to find the experience.

Mornings begin with coffee as fog lifts off the bay. Midday might take you hiking the granite cliffs of Schoodic or exploring tidepools along the shore. Evenings are for fresh lobster, a glass of wine, and watching the light fade over the water.

This is not a resort, and that’s exactly the point. There are no crowds, no lines, and no distractions. Instead, you’ll find clarity, stillness, and a deeper kind of luxury, the kind that comes from being somewhere real.

Plan to bring groceries and enjoy cooking-in or fire-up the outdoor grill while enjoying a spectacular sun-set. Weather can be dynamic (fog, wind, sun), part of the Maine coastal experience. Bar Harbor and Mount Desert Island are about an hour away if you want a day trip.

If you’re looking for polished luxury, there are plenty of options. If you’re looking for authentic Maine, oceanfront solitude, and a place to truly rest and reset, this is it. The Haguelnn House has everything Coastal Maine has to offer.

The property was perfect for our family get together. Plenty of space for 11 people to spread out and the views from the deck were amazing. We loved the location, close enough to Acadia but away from the crowds. Our family all agreed we would love to come again and hope to in the future.

This home was beautiful! There were tons of space, plenty of rooms and beds for the entire family. This home was super clean, cozy, games to play, books to read, and an outstanding view. I would highly recommend this home for a stay away from home!

Coffee on the deck in the morning, cocktails on the deck watching the sunset... with sights of porpoises, seals, bald eagles, herons and flickers in between. The house was everything we hoped it would be. We celebrated two 90th birthdays, and the home works well for those with mobility issues. We cooked a lot; the kitchen is quite functional and well-stocked (we added an oyster knife to the inventory), and the grill was near-new. On the practical front: The two living areas are at opposite ends of the house, which makes it nice if someone wants to read in one while crazy kids cause a ruckus in another. And one comment from another review we heeded - it's very bright early in the am, so sleeping masks are recommended.

Beautiful house with stunning view. It was well stocked. The kitchen had nice supplies and worked well. We enjoyed the sauna, the back porch, the large grill, the deck, all of the puzzles, comfortable beds, extra blankets, exploring the rock beach, sitting on the deck chairs and games at the house. It was decorated beautifully and very peaceful. Room for improvement with the bunk beds as they were not sturdy and a safety concern. Ants in the upstairs and activity room area were a problem. Owner said they would take care of this though for future renters. There were ant traps out making us think it was a known problem but she said they would address this. We lucked out with cool weather so having no AC wasn’t a problem at all but it should maybe be more clear for future renters that there is no AC and no fans. We really loved visiting Acadia, Bar Harbor, Winter Harbor, Momo’s cheesecake business and Joe’s oysters. It was an hour drive to Acadia and Bar Harbor but we didn’t mind ,we had a wonderful vacation here.

The house was beautifully set up for a lovely stay with our family. We had plans to visit some of the many preserve walks that are conveniently located nearby, however the house, beach and location itself was so charming we decided to stay in and enjoy it instead. The views each morning and night was especially breathtaking. We enjoyed seeing seals in the cove and hardworking lobstermen at work, right from the house and deck. The beach was a favorite spot to collect precious stones, and the deck to enjoy sunsets.

We were pleasantly surprised by the remoteness of this location! It was a beautiful and educational view everyday! Loved the sunsets, view of the mountains and getting acquainted with the surrounding towns! I was raised in”Down East” NC and enjoyed the similarities! Acadia is a beautiful NP!

We went with a group of friends to celebrate a milestone. House has amazing views, plenty of space to sleep, great kitchen and dining area, bbq, etc. We explored the area around the house along the coast which was gorgeous as well. We enjoyed the sunsets and stargazing and all the beautiful rocks and rock formations. One note is that there are no shades anywhere so bring a sleep mask if that’s an issue for you. But we loved waking up to the beautiful view.

My wife and I have stayed in the Corea area since the 1980s but haven't been back to this particular area of Maine for several years. We decided to bring our extended family back which consisted of 3 generations, 6 adults, and 6 kids from ages 10 years to 14 months. The house was perfect and everyone had plenty of room to spread out and play outside in the huge front yard. The rock beach was an easy climb from the house. Our group generally left the house early for activities and returned mid to late afternoon. If you've never been to Acadia National Park I would highly recommend it. The entire park is stunningly beautiful and there is world class hiking, biking, kayaking, and boating opportunities within 20 minutes of the house. The house itself is very large with a huge deck that looks out across the bay with Prospect Harbor on the other side. The house was very clean upon arrival and had multiple areas to congregate and relax both inside and out. One thing that may not be apparent is the that the two main areas to hang out are on the opposite ends of the house so if you are looking for separate areas to congregate this could be a plus. Also, as mentioned in other reviews there are no window coverings so it gets bright very early. An added bonus was the sauna. Overall this is a great property in a great location with a short drive to get to multiple activities. Ashley was responsive to any questions that we had. I would highly recommend this house.

The apartment is beautifully decorated with brand new kitchen, bathrooms, and furniture. Three of us were there for a week to do carriage driving in the park. The Nest is 5 minutes from where we stabled our horses.
