Welcome to the quiet side. Settle in on the Schoodic Peninsula and share Maine with locals, not cruise ships. Our home sits on 2 wooded acres in Gouldsboro, 20 minutes from the mainland portion of Acadia National Park and the Schoodic Loop Road. Grab a book, an Allagash White, and relax in the outdoor soaking tub. A short walk down the drive to the Jones Pond trail brings you to two shoreline kayaks and 467 acres of clear quiet water. If your Maine bucket list includes blueberry pancakes andasking Alexa how to steam a lobster, my husband and I built this for you.

THE HOME

Yes, this place IS tiny. Compact and cozy was the goal for our design. The Mainelander might be small but it's got everything you need to make your stay feel like home. The kitchen is stocked — range, fridge, dishes, farm sink, Keurig, French press for the coffee snob— I mean connoisseurs. All joking aside, there is no vacation without good coffee, so grab some pods or some grinds and you'll be set. A two-seater table faces the window to the front of the property, and when the weather is clear, there's not much better than an evening breeze and a couple fresh lobsters at the picnic table. There's a pot on the shelf if you want the whole experience, but the local sellers like Chipman's Wharf or The Lobstore will steam them up for you as well. The living room is cozy with a comfy couch and an electric fireplace. Yes, I have too many books, but can there really ever be too many Curl up with whatever calls to you from the shelves, or if pages aren't your thing, the Wi-Fi is fast, the TV is smart, and whoever said enjoying nature means roughing it must not have had a favorite comfort show. Splitting your attention between Hulu and the deer that make regular appearances out the living room window is a pretty great way to wind down and decompress. There are two sleeping areas — one is accessed via ship's ladder, the other a narrow stairway. There is limited headspace above both beds. I know you're still thinking about the deer and the lobsters and catching up on your TBR, but it is important to us that our guests understand that this is a tiny home and that means some places are easy to bump your head, and some taller guests might not be as comfortable in certain areas. If you've stayed in a tiny house before you know the drill. If you haven't, take a look at the photos — we want you to enjoy your stay. We love our place, we want you to love it too, but it won't be for everyone. The bathroom has a normal-sized tile shower, a euro-style sink, and a full-sized toilet. Pets are family. They are welcome here. No breed or size restrictions. We just ask they stay off the beds and the couch — it's hard, we know, we have pets too.

OUTSIDE IS WHERE IT SHINES

Most guests find that while they enjoy the cottage-vibed interior, the outside is the real draw. The clawfoot soaking tub has a hot water spigot and is truly a unique experience. With string lights above, the space is covered and private, and can be used day or night, rain or shine. Prop up a chair by the stone fire pit and enjoy an evening full of all the best parts about camping without the tent. Taking in a sky full of stars without light pollution is something everyone should experience at least once in their lives. If you have a clear night, don't forget to look up — it's not something a photo can capture. There's a lot up here that photos can't capture.

It was the perfect little house for our stay in Maine. We loved the location - much quieter than places closer to the island, and there was a lot to do right nearby on the schoodic peninsula. The house had everything we needed to be comfortable when we weren’t out exploring!

We loved every minute of this tiny home, cooked most of our meals in the kitchen and on the grill, enjoyed the fire pit and star gazing at night. We really did feel like we were the only ones in the area. Great trip.

We loved this tiny cabin! It was packed full with creative touches and amenities we didn’t expect (washer/dryer - yay!). Wish it could have been warmer so we could have tried out the bathtub, but overall this place was great. The owners also provided great recommendations for food and exploring nearby.

This was a terrific stay and the host Ashley was fantastic! She responded quickly to my questions and was helpful with a couple of minor issues that came up. Quick to help solve the issues. She kept in great communication with the check in and check out and getting the indoor fireplace working. The property is stunning and so much fun to have those memories of our trip to Maine. There is plenty of room and storage for my family of 4, including 2 younger children. The kitchen is well stocked with most items that were needed. Everything was clean and usable. The outdoor space was wonderful to have, the picnic table made a great breakfast spot, the deck with a table and chairs, the outdoor tub was a fun bonus, and the fire pit was fantastic. The walk to the kayak/lake was easy taking 7-8 minutes, and the kids loved the wooded path. It was quiet and secluded and nice way to relax after many days of hiking, tide pooling, and other adventures. We really liked staying on the quieter side of Acadia and so close to Schoodic, Raven's nest, and a nice little gem of Tidal Falls preserve. We loved the space and feel of more of a home! Wonderful trip!

We had an amazing time staying in the Tiny house in Gouldsboro. We toured and hiked the Schoodic Peninsula, drove down to Bar Harbor, and finished the day off with dinner in Winter Harbor before coming home to our cat waiting for us in the Tiny House. We loved it!

We stayed in this location while we visited Acadia. Location was perfect. Watch sunset at Schoodic Point. We hiked to the pond daily. Just lovely. Way more room than you would expect in a tiny house. It is a dog friendly place but there was a lot of left over dog hair overall Great stay

Wildlife was visible around the property. Turkeys were hanging around. I was the right size to enjoy this property, but my husband had more trouble getting in and out of the sleeping area. Beds were a little tricky to maneuver in and out of. We enjoyed the smart home features and the fire pit. Wished we had time to enjoy the kayaks and the pond.

Very cute and well designed tiny home. It has everything you need to stay there for a few days. A little too small for 3 adults (family) and 2 dogs but that is personal preference. The check-in and door lock system I really liked. I felt very secure.
