Ocean Estate with Beach access and incredible Ocean/Jungle views

A shockingly delightful surprise. It seems to be the opposite side of the country from where most people go and ơn the drive to the property, it seems to be a crowded tourist town but as soon as you enter the gate, you are enveloped in a secluded tropical paradise. We had been in much more remote areas and ended up seeing more wildlife here right from our balcony. I highly recommend. It’s highly unusual for us to have a gardener and a cleaning lady having access to our house the whole time. At first it seemed like we were being spied on but they were very helpful and it isn’t hard to get used to having someone keep everything tidy. We enjoyed our ping pong and pool tournaments while enjoying a view that couldn’t be more perfect. It seems a great stretch to say this property has beach access. Highly dangerous as all of the steps have disintegrated and just the rebar spikes are protruding from the muddy hillside but there’s easy access by car nearby. The pool was perfect. The kitchen had everything we needed and the beds were comfortable.

Very private property with security. Cleaning/maintenance staff came daily and were very friendly. Only drawbacks, third bedroom was on a different floor and required walking outside to get to main rooms. Also no real ability to walk down to the beach from the property, very treacherous path. Nice to have staff there each day but they stayed almost all day so not always privacy. Lots of wildlife including sloths, amazing!

The house & views are wonderful & the grounds were amazing. Paco the Iguana made daily appearances. You heard a symphony of animal sounds both day & night; however, we never saw any monkeys. One thing we did not realize was that the bedroom with the ensuite bathroom is actually not in the main house & the really nice bathroom is inside the house but shared with two bedrooms. It wasnt a problem but on the nights when it was raining really hard you got a little bit wet walking to the bedroom downstairs & outside the main house. The only other thing we did not realize was while it is walkable to get to town it is very hilly, dark & windy streets. Pablo was great to work with & answered any of my booking concerns promptly. Camilo was wonderful & coordinated all our transportation arrangements & excursions. He gave us the name of a taxi company that spoke english so we were able to easily coordinate dinner or beach transportation. We were pleased with all the companies he recommended. The only exception was the chef that came to the house, Diego. We were expecting more of an experience, w/the chef talking to us while he cooked & explaining what we were going to eat, etc. Diego really did not talk to us at all so it was a bit awkward; however, the food was amazing. Jose, the grounds keeper was wonderful. He showed us where the sloths were & took us on a short hike to a nearby beach. Lucy did a good job cleaning but having her there everyday seemed unnecessary to us.

The place is spectacular and the concierge, housekeeper, and grounds keeper were awesome!

If you love wildlife you will love your stay here. We say scarlet macaws, capuchin monkeys, spider monkeys, toucans, etc. We absolutely loved that part of this place. It was also nice to have our own private pool area. The place felt very safe and was exactly as it was shown.

Very nice layout with great views and property.

We had an amazing time at this beautiful home. I loved sitting out on the decks and watching the monkeys play, the birds soar, and the waves break. Also loved being able to walk to three different beaches. As other reviewers have mentioned, the walks to the beaches are pretty steep, but totally doable. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

The house and grounds were amazing, with a picturesque view of a beautiful cove and the ocean beyond. We enjoyed the lovely, open kitchen/dining/ living room area and adjoining spacious deck, and our young adults liked playing pool & ping-pong on the upper deck. (As a bonus, there was a mama sloth with her baby hanging out on a tree right by the house, and a group of howler monkeys passed through the upper deck while we were there)

Lovely house for Active Couples or friends. Never used the pool because it wasnt really set up for swimming, and the beach was a dangerous trail.

The location itself is truly unique. This property is in town, but seems remote. A little noise from the hotel down the street, but you basically just feel surrounded by the jungle. The grounds keeper Jose is amazingly helpful in exploring the property, locating the hidden sloth and identifying the vast variety of birds that come through each day. The walk to the beach is steep, but well worth it. The area easily allows you to explore Manuel Antonio without a guide. Camilo was wonderful at arranging all of our transportation and putting together the perfect experiences for the family at the last minute. All of his recommendations were spot on, and quality guides. I highly recommend taking advantage of the chef services. Diego had a wide variety of preparations he used throughout the week. First time ever my teen daughter has cleared her plate without a struggle! Amazing variety and lots of local flare to the preparations. The property is dated and could use some internal upkeep/maintenance, but you should not be disappointed. The views can't be beat, and the full staff are attentive and helpful to ensure you are enjoying your best vacation.

This place was absolutely perfect. Luci and Jose were very helpful. The views were amazing. I loved all the great hiking trails from the house. We will definitely be back.
