Villa Riva is a beautiful, four-storey 200 year old Venetian villa, set on a small square facing the lapping waters of the Adriatic. It accommodates 6-8 people, and offers stunning views of Vis and its harbour from all the bedrooms and terraces. At once luxurious and relaxed, it’s a perfect getaway for those who love the beauty and history of Europe, crave the relaxation of a seaside location, and want a comfortable, private retreat from which to enjoy it all.

Villa Riva sleeps 6-8 people with all the amenities you could possibly need for family and friends seeking a carefree, coastal European holiday.

It is an old house, in the beautiful Venetian-style architecture of Vis, which has been stylishly renovated to a high standard.

The top terrace offers breathtaking views over the picturesque bay of Vis with its monastery, islets, harbour-side yachts and the turquoise Adriatic sea. Once you have enjoyed an evening drink watching the sun set over the far side of the bay, you’ll never want to leave.

The two large bedrooms, one on each of the middle levels, have similar, stunning harbour views, and there is a second, vine shaded terrace off the lower bedroom. You can choose a king-size bed or twin beds in this room. The third twin bedroom is on the ground floor with its own en suite.

Also, if desired, there are two high quality sofa beds that can accommodate 1-2 more people. However, please be aware that this does take up the living space and is not very convenient.

There are three bathrooms, one next to each bedroom on the two middle levels, each with a toilet, shower, basin and bench space, plus an ensuite bathroom adjoining the ground floor bedroom.

There is a washing machine and dryer in one of the middle-level bathrooms.

The top level has a fully equipped kitchen (full size fridge, stove, microwave, toaster, cookware, utensils, cutlery, crockery) if you can’t bear to leave our beautiful house and want to self cater more extensively. You can eat on the balcony terrace while enjoying stunning views of the bay.

There is WiFi throughout, free of charge.

Beautiful villa, in a great location! The refrigerator was stocked with basic necessities, such as milk, coffee, butter, cheese, and even some wine. There was also a bowl of fruit and cereal available. The three king-sized beds were very comfortable. How amazing to sit on the top terrace and people/boat watch! There are many cafes and small grocery stores within a five minute walk. Living the dream!

The house was immaculate, well stocked and convenient to beaches, town, great restaurants and the local grocery store, fruit market and wine merchant.

The location of Villa Riva is excellent, probably unrivaled in Kut/Vis. The interior is very stylish and also well designed, with all amenities. Each floor is in itself surprisingly small, and the house has lots of stairs. But this also adds a certain charm, and a sense of privacy to each floor. All three bedrooms are on separate floors and have en suite bathrooms, and one has its own terrace with sunbeds. The top floor has a kitchen/living room and another terrace with amazing views across the entire harbour. 10 meters from the door is a dip in the sea and five meters away is the closest of many konobas/taverns, so it is possible to keep your entire holiday experience extremely local if you like. Boat traffic and party atmosphere in the harbour varied somewhat throughout the day and week, and at Villa Riva you feel rather in the middle of it all as an observer. This made for some good people- and boatwatching. We also had water taxi and boat trips arranged for us by the house manager's family, and made good use of the owner's excellent recommendations for trips and restaurants. Our favourites were probably Pojoda in Kut, Lola in Vis and Jastozera in Komiza. For bars, we recommend Fruterija and Lambik in particular. Both children, teenagers and adults loved our stay at Villa Riva, and we will always remeber where we were when Croatia played the World Cup Final ;-)

What a wonderful time we had at your amazing Villa – we had a great week! The Villa is really beautiful and everything is within easy reach. Your local representatives, Marija and Nino were excellent as was their restaurant and the various other ‘’eating’’ recommendations on the island. well worth a visit to the Blue Cave and the incredible secluded beaches on Nino's boat.

We're always looking for unique places to vacation and Villa Riva in Vis certainly fits. The Villa provides all the comforts, conveniences and amenities and is in a beautiful location. The Villa sits at the waters edge and we spent hours on the top floor terrace enjoying the water and island views. The Villa itself is very clean and tastefully done. Its location is within steps of cafes, restaurants, grocery store, bakeries and plenty of good restaurants. Marija welcomed us on our arrival and her knowledge of the island was very helpful. What we appreciated most was the understanding and cooperation of the owners in re-scheduling our stay following a death in our family. We had a much needed and relaxing vacation and look forward to returning to Villa Riva.

The pictures cannot possibly tell the story of what a beautifully appointed and ideally located apartment Villa Riva is. The two separate floor master bedrooms with baths are wonderful, one having a private terrace that looks out onto the water, a mere thirty steps from the front door. On the upper deck we spent time during a few windy days, reading books from the owners' library stocked by fellow travelers and gazing out to the sea from the balcony. This room has comfortable sofas that we used for lounging, but they provide sleeping space for two to four persons. The island is a step back in time with its old world architecture, friendly people and safe environment. We loved the restaurants (Virreca especially) where we whiled away hours, unhurried by the family staff, looking out on boats at sail and the water lapping against the wharf. There is a market, fresh produce and wonderful bakery just a two minute walk (if that) as well as a car/scooter/bicycle rental shop all of which we used with regularity. My wife and I while traveling like to become as local as we can, immersing ourselves in the flavor of the place and Vis and Villa Riva afford one the opportunity to do just that. Marina, the property manager welcomed us on our arrival, took care of any needs we had and arranged a for a taxi to take us from the ferry to the apartment coming and going, an easily walkable distance, but so nice to not have to hunt for the apartment and be warmly greeted upon our arrival. If you are considering a trip to Croatia, you really should do yourself a favor and spend some very relaxing days at Villa Riva. You won't be disappointed!!

The house is really comfortable and well equipped and we settled in really easily. This was helped by the friendly local manager and the comprehensive arrival information provided in advance by the owners. We spent hours relaxing on the top terrace watching the boats come and go. I loved being able to swim so close to the house – the steps to the right of the house into the sea make it so easy I’d more or less become part of the local community of regular late afternoon swimmers by the end of the week, but I’d have the sea to myself for my before breakfast swim. The house book provided information about local restaurants, most of which we visited. We ate really well at all of them. Local wine could be bought almost next door and was really good value. Our stay passed far too quickly - we were having such a good, relaxing time - that we are hoping to return next year.

This house is absolutely beautiful and was the perfect holiday stay for my family. The bedrooms are both spacious and very comfortable, offering lovely views across the bay. The best part of the house is the top balcony which has the most incredible views over the bay (we've never stayed anywhere with such amazing views before!) - the perfect spot for an evening drink. Vis itself is fantastic. There are plenty of restaurants, all an easy walk from the house and they serve delicious Croatian food (lots of fish and pasta!) We would love to return next year.

Absolutely great stay at the villa last summer, The Island is fantastic and the position of the property, you could not ask for better. We stayed with another couple and given the layout this was ideal as each of us had the same floor layouts with large double bedrooms and bathrooms on each floor. The terrace on the top floor makes for a great evening venue to sit around and have a great dinner and a few drinks while you look over the water. I can't recommend a stay here more, fantastic spot and great restaurants on you door step with the water only a few steps from the front door. All up a fantastic holiday.

Renovated 3 story house with all modern conveniences. Very comfortable en suite bedrooms and fantastic views overlooking the bay and the quayside. Entertaining in the evening as the amateur sailors try to tie up on the harbour! Great restaurants nearby and very bustling - but not noisy - atmosphere in the surrounding streets. First class place to stay!
