Stayed Jun 14, 2025Fantastic Villa. Very clean had all the amenities. Great for visiting this area of France. The only issue we had was the broken water feature in the garden had a hornets nest. I got stung on our first day. The garden and upstairs balcony were unusable due to the amount of hornets circulating. They particularly liked the aircon unit on the balcony.

Stayed Aug 24, 2024Location and size of property is ideal. However the condition of the property was incredibly disappointing. Everything is very dated and falling apart, my husband had to several times fix things himself such as kitchen doors falling off the hinges. The tumble dryer does work at all. Upstairs bathroom shower temperature doesn’t change. The property has incredible potential if time and care is invested into it. Overall it’s overpriced and falsely advertised on the condition it is at. The front door lock broke and upon communicating that with the owners we had to waste a whole day for someone to come and repair it. The list of work for the property to be in rental condition is endless and we’re very disappointed with the condition and communication from the owners.

Stayed Jul 23, 2023This is a lovely house in a quiet location just a short drive from Argelès-sur-Mer. The house is well maintained and was spacious enough for the 5 of us to have plenty of room. The communication from the owner was excellent and even when we had a small issue with the dishwasher they had it fixed within a day. Highly recommended and we would definitely visit again.

Stayed Aug 10, 2019The property was lovely and clean when we arrived and there was milk and water in the fridge which was lovely. I didn't appreciate having to wait in at home in the UK for the keys to be posted special delivery signed for and then having to post the keys back when we returned - a key safe is a much more practical solution. We had to deal with a wasps nest in the garden area in the (non-functioning fountain) when we arrived after my son got stung and the mosquitos were a nuisance - it would have been great to have been advised on the mosquitos before we arrived so we could have taken more to deal with them. The clothes airer outside is very fragile and battered so was tricky to use and the remote control batteries were not working and some of them were even fused together they'd been left for so long. The video player was temperamental and we couldn't get any English television or get the HDMI connection to work so I think it's a bit of a stretch to say 'all mod cons'. Having said that the kitchen was really well equipped, the local town is cute and it's great to be able to get to so many beautiful beaches, into Spain and up into the mountains. It would have been nice to be left some reviews of local places rather than just leaflets and to be advised on local places to eat and local walks.

Stayed Sep 14, 2017We had a wonderful time at the O'Sullivan's home. It is a great location for exploring the coastal and interior villages. Collioure was our favorite, followed by Castelnou. Naturally, we ate everything in sight, all delicious. California Francophiles.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969We were delighted to discover that the description provided by the owners was absolutely factual. Maison des Orange is situated in a quiet residential housing development on the edge of the village of St Genis des Fontaines. The house is spacious with a well appointed kitchen, TV and wi-fi supplied free of charge. The villa had been thoroughly cleaned before we arrived with clean linen supplied. The sunny rear garden and large terrace is ideal for sunbathing on the loungers provided or perhaps reading a book in the shaded areas. It is always a delight to eat Al fresco and there is a large brick barbecue on the terrace for the culinary gifted The village centre is a ten minute walk away with a post office, supermarket and a number of smaller shops selling meat, bread, cheese, fresh fruit and vegetables, newspapers and magazines. A small open-air market visits the village twice weekly with stalls selling various local produce. I would not hesitate to recommend Maison des Orange to our friends and relatives. Although the owner is not on site he was easily contactable by 'phone or text and in our experience provided a quick response to any questions we had. There is a local contact who can be on- site quickly should the need arise. No visit to Languedoc/Rousillon is complete without a visit to a local wine producer. The village boasts three Caves and my favourite is Pages-Hure where you can sample and buy their prize wining wine. St Genis has a number of good eating places but do visit the surrounding villages of Sorede, Ville Longue del Monts, Laroque des Alberes and St Andre all of which are easily reached by car or on foot and have a number of excellent eating places. The beaches of Argeles sur Mer and Collioure are a short drive away and for those without a car there is an excellent, if infrequent local bus service. The equally excellent train service from Argeles provides the opportunity travel further afield, perhaps visiting Perpignan or Carcasonne. Walking, horse riding and cycling are popular activities in the area and the local tourist information office in St Genis can provide information on these and other interesting things to do while you are in the area.

Stayed Dec 31, 1969We spent two weeks at Maison de Oranges and had a fantastic break. The house and garden are lovely and the barbecue was a welcome surprise for us and we spent plenty of time sampling some of the lovely and very reasonable local wine. The weather was perfect for the two weeks and we explored the area, went to the beach and had a really good time. There are maps in the house of walks around the area and we did a couple and had amazing views of the countryside all the way across to the sea. The local village of Saint Genis des Fontaines is lovely and the supermarket is great with a really interesting market on Sundays. There is a really good boulangerie in the village which sells fab cakes, for those with a sweet tooth. All in all we had a great break and I would highly recommend it.
