Stayed Dec 29, 2024We had a lovely stay here. The staff took great care of us and we highly recommend having Rosa cook for you at least once while you're here! The only challenges we had were the mosquitos, which seemed to get through the mosquito netting on the beds. Also, we stayed during New Years and could hear loud music very late into the night from the nearby town, but that is to be expected during a celebratory holiday.

Stayed Apr 24, 2024This was our second visit to Brisa Del Mar, and it was just as wonderful as we’d hoped. The home is outfitted perfectly with everything you could need. We did a lot of cooking and hanging out in and by the pool. It’s wonderful to have the car to get around and see some of this side of the island, and eat at some great restaurants. The dogs and kitties were such and added bonus for us, they are so incredibly sweet, but as I said in my last review…they won’t come by if you’d prefer they don’t. We stayed a week and it was so peaceful and relaxing. Bianca was available if we had any questions, and the cleaning crew, and security/landscape/gate keepers were all so kind and friendly.

Stayed Feb 26, 2024My husband and I had an amazing stay at Brisa Del Mar. It was just what we were looking for with the privacy. The staff was friendly and we can’t say enough about our driver Oscar. He was such a personable young man and made great suggestions on things to do that suited our needs. We chose to have him drive because we didn’t feel comfortable taking ourselves since it was our first time in Roatan. Our housekeeper Jessica did an amazing job as well. It was so nice to come back to a freshly cleaned villa with our laundry being done. We can’t wait to come back to this little piece of paradise.

Stayed Mar 22, 2023Bruce and his team are very attentive to your needs. From airport pickup, to bringing a fresh bag of ice they are there to make your stay great. My wife and I really enjoyed Brisa del Mar. Just know going in that it is an open air style villa, so you will have the occasional bug, or mosquito to deal with. While we were there it was pretty windy most nights so we did not really have to deal with too many mosquitos. Overall we settled in and had a great time. I never turned the TV on in the 7 days we were there. We had Rosa cook for us the first night, and after that we used the provided truck that comes with the villa and we ate out all the other nights, except one night we cooked our own meal. I would stay there again.

Stayed Feb 17, 2023We had an amazing time overall! Bruce and the staff were equally attentive and dedicated to our privacy. Highlight was the boat charter!! We also loved having a vehicle to explore the island. One thing to note is weekend nights can be loud from music from a nearby disco, but it wasn’t too much of a bother. We would definitely go back!

Stayed Jan 27, 2023We stayed at Brisa Del Mar for 6 days and it was not nearly long enough! The Brisa crew coordinated transportation to and from the airport, supplied honest and helpful information about nearby destinations, and a wonderful, comfortable, and well stocked home base for us. Easy access to kayaks and snorkel gear was a nice perk. The staff were professional, kind, and always available yet somehow completely unobtrusive. Without a doubt, we would stay here again in the future!

Stayed Jan 7, 2023After 15 years of alternating between a cruise and an all inclusive resort (like Sandals), my wife and I decided to “rent“ a property, choosing this time to clean up daily for ourselves, to make our own meals, and to generate fun on our own. I did all the research, and this assignment will fall on my wife’s shoulders next year, but I had one criterion to begin with, and that was to search VRBO properties with five’s across-the-board. Any property with a lesser rating was eliminated, and I chose from among perhaps 100 properties. I did give this property added points because my wife and I had never been to Honduras nor to this island. This property did not disappoint. It might be the best VRBO property for a couple in all the Caribbean. The staff is led by Phil, who makes sure that everyone else gives 100% excellent service. The unit came with a vehicle, and this was needed—an awesome add-on. Look at the pictures. While they are exceptional, pictures are no substitute for “being there.“ The infinity pool was amazing, and the view even better. The Bali style of our large unit allowed us to open the indoors to the outside when the weather was wonderful, and to close up when, for a short while each (January) day, it rained. If you want to snorkel in the waters off the property, rent a boat with a captain, or take out one of four kayaks, you can. And there’s always someone lurking nearby to assist. As pet lovers, we fell in love with the property’s cats and dogs. Titon, a boxer/pit mix, Leo and two other cats were regular and friendly visitors. The home is stocked with everything you will ever need, blender, dishwasher, coffee maker, extra towels, dishes, etc. The island of Roatan is pretty typical of most Caribbean islands in that the wealthy occupy places along the shore, while the rest of the world resides and works on the interior. Punta Gorda to the north is a recommended destination, with a great back story, along with West Bay and West End. All in all, if we could give the property a six out of five, we would. This property will remain the standard for us in the future. No longer, I think, will we cruise, and we may think twice about all-inclusives because this property opened us up to a less expensive and better alternative – – buy your own food and cook it, buy your own alcohol and drink it, and augment all of that with some beauty and fun! Needless to say, we highly recommend that you stay here.

Stayed Dec 31, 2022Just got back from a five day stay at Brisa del Mar and everything about the place was top notch. The pictures don’t do the setting justice; the views visible throughout the house and deck are incredible, filled with clear blue Caribbean water. The grounds of the property are impeccably kept and give you plenty of privacy. We didn’t even run into other guests during our stay. The house is beautifully decorated, with plenty of space to spread out both inside and out around the decks by the pool. The dock is an unbeatable place to take in an island sunset and we spent plenty of time swimming and kayaking off of it. Phil made us feel at home from the amount we arrived and the experience and effort he puts into taking care of guests is immediately apparent. The entire staff has been employed at the property for years and the experience shows. You can’t leave without getting several meals from Rosa, who has been working at the property for decades. The best meals we had on the island were cooked by her right in our kitchen. The included pickup truck was a huge added bonus, giving access to explore the island at our leisure. We felt totally safe and secure on the fenced off property with round the clock security and slept with our doors open to the sea every night. I think Brisa del Mar sets itself apart with its unique architecture, beautiful and secure surroundings, the experience and attentiveness of its staff, and the available amenities (truck, available cook, driver, spa, dock, kayaks, boat) all at a very reasonable price point. It made for a memorable week and we hope to be back soon!
