We had a great time staying at Gecko's lodge. Tine and Rene were very welcoming and made our stay really enjoyable. We loved the treehouse and the open air concept that gave us a really neat experience in the rainforest setting. We were able to see monkeys, sloths, frogs, birds and many other animals all in their natural habitat, right from the deck of the house and walking through the garden. Tine helped us book activities and recommended many great outtings in the area during our time. Gecko's is a 5 min drive to grocery stores and beaches but still tucked in the forest to give a private, relaxing holiday. Pura Vida!

Beautiful home and grounds, excellent location, and very accommodating hosts! Tine quickly and graciously responded to my mishaps and very helpful with sight seeing bookings. Couldn't of stayed any where better. Hope to book one of their smaller houses in the future. Pura Vida!

This was our first trip to Costa Rica and staying at Geckoes was absolutely perfect! It’s perfect distance from the beach and town! I adored waking up in the morning and having my coffee while listening to the rain! It was honestly a perfect experience.

We had a very nice stay at the geckoes lodge with our sons. We enjoyed the open concept of the house, you really feel one with nature. The place was neat and tidy, and the house was cleaned daily by a housekeeper. We were met by the daughter of the owners who was very nice and helpful. They had a thoughtful welcome gift of local fruits and chips. It was nice to wake up to sounds of the howler monkeys! The closest beach was too close to the road for us, but a beautiful beach with turquoise water and white sand was a short drive to Cahuita National Park which is a lovely hike with many opportunities to spot sloths, white face capuchins, howler monkeys and snakes, just to mention a few!

This property has it all. Location is perfect and the description of features is accurate. AC is not needed, you would be feeling like you are camping in the jungle but has all amenities to have comfort. Hosts will ensure you get anything you need and be ready to help. Fully recommended

The property is just far enough into the jungle to feel like an authentic jungle experience, but just a few minutes from Puerto Viejo and the most beautiful Costa Rican beaches you've ever seen. This is an open-air property (i.e. no air conditioning) with a gorgeous 180-degree view. In our short stay, we saw toucans, an agouti, dozens of hummingbirds, a variety of butterflies, an oropendola, unique dragonflies, lightning bugs, a dozen different birds and too many varieties of tropical flowers, plants, and trees to describe... all of this from the living room. I highly recommend this property to anyone who wants a unique jungle-like experience away from the hustle and bustle of your typical touristy vacation spots. But so very convenient to get to town, beaches and excursions. I do not recommend this property to those that need air conditioning (lows at night in the low 70's, highs in the day in the high 80's) or those that want to be insulated from the amazing sounds of the jungle at night. The property owners are warm and friendly. They were available if needed but in no way was obtrusive. They also left a lovely welcoming gift of local fresh fruits and snacks. A truly wonderful experience.

My husband, seven years old son, and I stayed at Geckoes Lodge. Even though we came late, we had a warm welcome from the family and a beautiful basket of fresh fruit. Our stay was comfortable. The lodge equipped with everything we needed to have a relaxing vacation. The kitchen and sitting areas are, however under the roof, beautifully situated in the outdoors. We enjoyed the lush greenery, sounds of the jungle, and the comfort of this beautiful home. Tine and Reene supply filtered water, so you don’t have to buy it. Overall, we had an amazing experience and would love to stay at the lodge again. With appreciation, Regina

Tom and Zoe were wonderful hosts and provided us with the inside knowledge of where to go and what to do all while feeling safe in a new environment. The grounds are breathtaking and the house is more incredible than the pictures give credit! Truly amazing experience!

We spent 9 nights in Casa Bromelia and absolutely loved it! The entire property is beautiful. It was really incredible sharing the rainforest with howler monkeys and toucans. The owners, Tom and Zoe are great people. They were amazing hosts and really made every effort to make our stay a memorable one. Thanks to Jose and Tita who did a great job keeping the place clean. An awesome place in a really beautiful part of the country.
