Stayed Jun 19, 2025We had a group of 16 guys stay at this property in Akumal and had an excellent experience from start to finish. The staff and logistics were a big part of what made the trip so seamless and enjoyable.Edwin was our main chef for the weekend, along with an assistant. They did a fantastic job preparing meals for our large group and clearly understood how to cook for 16 hungry men. The fridge was always stocked, and the supply of Gatorades was a thoughtful and much-appreciated touch. We coordinated the food and groceries through Antonio, who runs the chef service. He was professional and easy to work with—he purchased all the groceries (including beer), provided receipts, and didn’t charge any markup. It was incredibly convenient.Rocio was our main point of contact on-site. She was responsive throughout the weekend via WhatsApp, helping us communicate with the chef team and troubleshoot anything that came up. She made everything easy and straightforward, and our full cash deposit was returned without issue.Felipe is the senior property manager. While we didn’t meet him in person, he played a big role in coordinating things leading up to the trip, and everything was well-organized when we arrived. The security guard at the property was friendly and stayed outside for the duration. Highly Recommend!

Stayed May 23, 2025It was a very nice property. It would have been nice to have one common area air conditioned. We had some issues with the bar tending the first night....as she didn't get there till after 8:30 pm. But after that it was fine. We thought the food was very good but not quite enough a few times. But the chief was very accommodating. There was one room that the AC was never completely repaired. The pool was great and all the extras that went with it. We had a ton of good pictures but just none on my email.

Stayed Mar 15, 2025This was by far the best vacation, and the chefs Roger and Pedro made it that way! We were undecided about whether or not we wanted a chef, but SOOOO happy we did request them. Every meal was delicious (we had a couple of chefs in the group, so we are picky!)Fresh fruit, granola, best pico de Gallo, homemade sauces, fresh juices, we were spoiled. And this is all very reasonable as far as cost. The villa was GORGEOUS! Each room had its own bathroom plus an extra one on each floor. The cleaning staff was great, every day they cleaned. The grounds were kept pristine. Honestly cannot find anything to plain about. If you have the chance, definitely hire the Mariachi band!!! That was a night nobody will ever forget!!

Stayed Dec 26, 2024We loved our stay in Akumal. The property is clean and well maintained. The layout of the home is perfect for a large group and the outdoor area is wonderful. Our family enjoyed our entire week from the delicious meals, the easy access to Akumal Bay and the spacious rooms that gave everyone space to relax and enjoy.

Stayed Feb 19, 2025Wow! This property was amazing. We loved it. Our family of 27 had plenty of space and the kids loved it. We had plenty to do and Felipe made it super easy. He was very responsive to my questions and greeted us when we arrived. We also had an amazing chef, Roger and his staff and they cooked all our meals and everyone was more delicious than the other. The kids called it a mansion and loved it. Miguel picked up fresh coconuts from the trees everyday and we had fresh coconut water. So fun. We loved the pool, hot tub, kayaks, beach area with toys and loved the playroom upstairs with ping pong, air hockey and foosball. We didn't even turn on the TV. I don't even know if it was in Spanish or English. Too many activities to do and it was great to not watch any television for the week. Thank you so much. I do want to say that the pictures do not do it justice. It's even more beautiful in person.

Stayed Dec 1, 2024We have been going down to Akumal since the late 90's with owners of like business in the US. In the past we have rented several condos in half moon bay. This is the first time we have rented a large facility. It was perfect for all of us. We had 3 father and sons. So they were able to stay in the same rooms. The 13 bedrooms was perfect. Felipe was a great host. The instructions of getting from the airport to Villa Bellamar was great for the few that had never been to Akumal before. The chef Antonio Sosa and his team did a great job. The meals were great. Letting them do the shopping for food and drinks was a time saver for us. We had all of our meals in house except one lunch at Lo-ha. That was for old time sake. We would have our meetings at Lo-ha in the past. The large table in Villa Bellamar was great for the meetings. Having a place like this, we got more done than ever before. Please thank the entire staff for us. They made this effortless for us. Thank you,

Stayed Aug 1, 2023I recently stayed here with my family (18 people) & our experience was far from satisfactory. Despite paying a large amount, the property failed to meet the expectations set by its online description. Key issues: -Sewage Smell: Entire 2nd floor emitted a persistent sewage smell making the stay on the second floor unbearable. Management acknowledged this, but could not fix. -Water Leak: There was a sizable hole in the ceiling caused dirty water to leak into the living room. -Lack of Cleanliness: Housekeeping service was subpar, with towels/sheets not changed & when changed were still dirty. The kitchen, outdoor pool area, and rooms were consistently untidy. Staff delayed clearing plates and dishes, leaving us to clean up each night. Fridge and freezer, did not function properly. -Run-Down Property: Significant wear & tear -outdated floors and bathrooms. Showers leaked water into the entire bathroom, and when we requested additional towels, the staff was uncooperative. -Misrepresentation on Description: The property falsely advertised on-site laundry facilities. Contrary to the confirmation, we had to pay an outside vendor for laundry services. -Invasion of Privacy: Cameras on all floors outside the bedrooms invaded our privacy, creating an uncomfortable atmosphere. Additionally, it's worth noting that the owner initially agreed to compensate us for our troubles but later reneged on the offer, resorting to threats & intimidation to dissuade us from writing this review.

Stayed Jan 2, 2024We are a binational family of 23 guests from Mexico and the U.S., ranging in age from 2 to 88 years old, who stayed in Villa Bellamar in January 2024. We had a great time. The house is beautiful. The staff are incredible (housekeepers, groundskeepers, and cooks). The location is safe and secure. The grounds are well maintained with pool, jacuzzi, and beach. While the ocean floor is rocky, they provide water shoes, and the bay is shallow and protected by a reef. As noted by others, be sure to bring several thousand dollars in cash for the food, drinks and tips, depending on how much your group eats and drinks. We had an incredible stay at this beautiful vacation villa right on the beach in the heart of the Riviera Maya.
