Your eye is caught, and your senses overwhelmed, when you enter The Step Lodge

We had the best time at this rental. Communication was great and our expectations were exceeded. The host was kind enough to let us check in earlier than usual. The property had everything you could need and more! We had a large group including 2 babies 2 little kids and there was ample room for everyone to have their own space. The views were awesome. We enjoyed having fires on the beach and all the supplies was there and ready for us! We seriously could not have asked for a better place for a family trip. The property was so clean (shocking considering it is literally surrounded by sand and rocks). We played basketball, rock hunted on the beach, grilled out, sat and watched the sunrise, waded in the water.. truly a great end of summer getaway.

Step Lodge is fantastic for a group. We had three families staying at the cottage and the house was perfect. We had a house-wide ping pong tournament and loved swimming off the dock. The cottage is better than advertised! 10/10 for sure.

The house was beautiful and there was plenty of room for everyone! The host has the house stocked extremely well with everything you would need. We had an amazing time and look forward to coming back.

Second time staying here and was great as always. The house is very well maintained and the kitchen is well stocked. Extremely clean as well. A wonderful house and location!

We had a really lovely stay at The Step Lodge. The nice open floor plan was great for large group meals and games. We had kids from 5-13 yo who kept busy with games and water activities. Adults enjoyed the views and ease of getting llllll

We had a wonderful time at the step lodge! The house is beautiful, very roomy and immaculate. It was perfect for a large family! The view from the outside deck is awesome and the lake was great for cooling off. Our host was very accommodating and went out of his way to make sure we had a wonderful stay.

Our family vacation was wonderful. The Step Lodge was clean and very well stocked with everything we needed. The owner was very accommodating and helpful. Everyone loved our vacation, especially the water sports and swimming.

The property is absolutely stunning. The host goes out of their way to ensure you have a great time with little extras like local attraction summaries, extra beach towels, etc. We could not ask for a better place to stay.

We loved the step lodge. Perfect location. Water is gorgeous. Nightly fires on the beach with the kids. The house it self is large and open perfect for families. A short drive to TC but we didn’t even need to leave house as the view was perfect. Morning coffee with a sunrise is hard to beat!

This is by far the nicest, cleanest, most amazing property we have ever rented in upper Michigan. Our family enjoyed the property so much, we had trouble getting the kids to leave to go do other activities. Last year we stayed at another rental that was in the same price range and there was no comparison. We will be scheduling our next Michigan trip around this property is availability. An amazing stay! We had a group of 12, from littles on up, and everyone enjoyed their stay. The house is immaculate (and I’m picky). The best stocked vacation home we have ever rented. There are two decks and two living rooms, perfect for groups of varying sizes and ages. Well maintained stairs to the beach. Beach is sandy and rocky which delighted the kids and the rock hunters among us. Fire pit and chairs at the beach were used nightly. The host was great at communicating. One of our favorite stays ever.

The Step Lodge was the best VRBO we have ever stayed at. It was well supplied with anything we could possibly need. Beach chairs, beach towels, kitchen supplies and dishes, etc., plenty of comfortable seating for eating and lounging. It was a perfect fit for our family. If we come up to this area again, I would definitely want to stay here again. Everything about this place was top notch.

Our family really enjoyed this place!! Beautiful, clean and on the water!! The host is a great communicator and willing to help whenever needed. Short trip to cute little town of Sutton’s Bay. Great location between Traverse City and Leland. My grandchildren want to go back to this same house next time.

We had an amazing week at the Step Lodge with our extended family of 12. We’ve been coming up to Suttons Bay for years and this is the nicest place we’ve stayed. The house had plenty of room for our group so we never felt in top of each other. The outdoor space is incredible. The games- basketball, ping pong, corn hole, the board games - were an added perk. Kitchen was well stocked. We absolutely love Suttons Bay and the entire Leelanau peninsula. Communication with Andrew was great. Only positive things to say!!!!!

This was the perfect home for our extended family vacation. There was plenty of space for everyone to spread out. The deck was great for meals, enjoying early morning coffee or evening wine with a fabulous view of the lake. The kitchen is well stocked for cooking meals together and town is close for eating out and shopping. So many close day trips to enjoy, and then family board games, corn hole and ping pong at night. We couldn’t have had a better stay. Definitely recommend this gem!

From the time we turned off of M-22 we were instantly in vacation mode. While not far from town, this house is a secluded oasis with views of the water from almost anywhere in the house. My family of 8 adults and 3 teens thoroughly enjoyed our stay with morning coffees on the deck, afternoon basketball games and happy hours at the dock. The evening Ping Pong games and shuffleboard competitions created lots of laughs. The house is spacious, the beds were comfortable and the kitchen is well stocked for all your cooking needs. This house is top notch and a place i look forward to staying at again!

The property was gorgeous! The house was immaculate and had so many wonderful extras. The views were simply beautiful and the location was perfetct! Such a short trip into downtown Suttons Bay and so close to other adorable towns like Leland and Glen Arbor. We had a great trip. Andrew, the host, was incredible to work with. So much extra effort by him and his family to ensure our stay was one to remember. They have a book full of details about the area, covering just about anything you want to do. The house has tons of room for large groups. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking to spend time in the area. Thanks again Andrew!
