Rented this property for an annual girls trip with five women. While this home has many positives such as its size, location to downtown and tranquility, there were several negatives unfortunately to our stay. Upon entering the house, my friends and I immediately noticed the overwhelming musty smell. That smell and the moisture issue were quite overwhelming especially for those who had breathing issues and allergies. The home needs a serious deep clean! Dirty upholstery on the sofa, stained carpets, dead bugs in windows/on counter tops, cob webs, soiled and stained bedding/quilts and towels/washcloths that did not appear to be clean or were stained, The property management did reach out to check on our stay via email and text, however, my friends and I were on our annual girls weekend trip and we did not want to spend our time waiting on housekeeping. We had a full day of activities planned and I chose to not contact them in regards to our concerns. My opinion is those things should ALREADY be taken care of and checked prior to a guest’s arrival! No one wants to be seeing about things such as the cleanliness of a property after they have arrived and are ready to enjoy their time away! I did let the company know a few of my concerns when I called to report we were checking out. I would very much love to give this home more stars but sadly it just did NOT earn them. This place could easily be top notch with some TLC and attention.

Had good communication with management company. Property was ok - missing some key items in kitchen and did not provide laundry detergent (but did provide dishwasher detergent?). Was not given wi-fi password until requested. Had some issues with water leaking in the pantry during rainstorm.

We spent much needed family time, watching movies, eating great food, and enjoying the shops of downtown Helen. Our stay was magical. We will definitely return next summer.

We had a great time and loved the house. The king size bed was way too soft for our liking, but everything else was wonderful.

We enjoyed our stay at Willkommen Haus. The house was very clean, spacious, and comfortable. Location was close to downtown Helen, just a short drive. We would give this a 10 as far as a rental. The only note I would add is we have stayed at other VRBO rentals that had more items available in the kitchen. This appeared to be a rental only home, no one lives or stays here on a regular basis so more items might be needed for cooking if you have a longer stay. But for our 3 nights we had all we need. Would definitely rent again.

Reviewer Comments: The house was big enough for all guest; however, the floors were not clean, kitchen countertops needed to be wiped off. the outdoor furniture was covered with pollen as well as the front porch. The rain did wash off the patio furniture, but the front porch remained covered with pollen. We returned Saturday and noticed that the main floor AC unit was not working. I called the afterhours line, reported the AC not working. I was told that they we see what they can do. It was miserably hot and we had to raise the windows which after sundown became very cold. Not too happy with the response or lack of response about the AC.

My family and I enjoyed our stay in this beautiful mountain house over Thanksgiving break. Everything was clean, the beds were comfortable and more than enough linens were provided. There were no issues during our stay. Based on some earlier reviews, we were worried that the kitchen wasn't going to be well supplied with cooking utensils and small appliances but we were nicely surprised to find a very well stocked kitchen. All of the essentials hand tools were provided, there was also an electric kettle, crock pot and plenty of pots, pans, baking dishes, cookie sheets and baking trays. The one small disappointment, is that my son never got to see a bear but can't hold the management company responsible for that. We hope to come back next year, maybe we'll see one then.

As a group that cooks most of our meals, it was lacking in some basics. Most places we rent have basics like salt & pepper, foil, measuring cups, leftover containers.
