West Olive, Michigan
Notice: Per township rules, minimum stay is 28 days.
This farm house sits on 11 acres with all the sights and sounds of nature. There is a groomed trail that loops through the secluded woods. It is about 3 miles from the beach, with lots of local parks with beach access nearby. There is very little light pollution, so you can see the stars clearly at night. This is primarily our family vacation home, but we have decided to open it up to guests for a few weeks this summer.
The living area is an open space with a TV, DVD player, and board games. The dining room features a large table. The kitchen is spacious and has a separate butler's kitchen. The bathroom has a bathtub/shower combination.
The main floor has one bedroom with a queen bed and room darkening curtains. The upstairs has 2 bedrooms. The first bedroom has a queen bed with a TV and ceiling fan. The second bedroom has a bunk bed and a twin bed and a large closet.
You'll have access to the entire house except the basement. You'll be able to enjoy 11 acres of wooded trails, a fire pit and outdoor trampoline. Additional outbuildings will not be accessible.
Other things to note:
There is no A/C in the house, but there is a ceiling fan in the main bedroom upstairs, and there is good airflow when the windows are open. The trees provide lots of shade and keep the house cool in the summer.
The house was originally built in 1857 and has been updated, but it is in the woods, so there may be a few bugs.
There is no wifi, but we've never had a problem with cell phone coverage.
