We had problems with the internet and the wooden stairs going down to the dock was old and steep without a handrail. The dock was messed up so I couldn't use it. However, I also did not email the host about my concerns until the end of our visit. That was my fault. When I did email our host Valerie, sent an immediate response. She has already had the cable company to the house to fix everything and has lined up someone to fix the dock, stairs and put up a handrail. She has been more than attentive to my concerns. My family who stayed with me there, were very happy with the kitchen and all the appliances, pots, dishes, glasses, etc. There were also an abundance of towels to use. The washer and dryer were used a lot too. The beds were comfortable and plenty to accommodate my family. The house location was perfect for walking the trails or riding bikes. In spite of not using the dock I very much enjoyed eating breakfast looking out at the beautiful scenery, which later included Chippy, a chipmunk who I loved feeding him birdseed. Thanks again Valerie for everything you did to make our stay great.

Great house! Beautiful views on the water. Close to town, right on a biking/running trail. Really enjoyed the bikes and being able to ride into town. Also enjoyed the kayaks and playing on the river. Overall a great experience!

Beautiful home and amazing view, we had a great time and enjoyed using the bikes and hot tub. The only issues were we couldn’t get the WiFi to work most days so we weren’t able to use the TV. There was also no air conditioning set up so our first night we had trouble sleeping in the heat (75-80 degrees) and had to open up windows and get fans going to cool off. The rest of the trip was much cooler weather so the heat just affected our first night. Overall a great visit, we enjoyed the amenities and convenient and beautiful location! The host had great communication as well.

Valerie was an excellent host, quick to communicate, we had our access details nice and early. The property itself is lovely, this was actually our second visit and it didn't disappoint the second time around! The view from the backyard is beautiful, listening to the sounds of the frogs and crickets while relaxing in the hot tub at night was lovely. The kitchen was excellently stocked with lots of baking trays and pots and pans, it made cooking for our group a breeze. Beds were all comfy, as was the living room furniture, with a big TV for relaxing together. You're also close to plenty to do, a hike up Sugarloaf Mountain overlooking Superior just across town and a pleasant little downtown to explore in Marquette. Only a 40 minute drive over to Munising to do some kayaking at Pictured Rocks too! Highly recommend booking this property if you're visiting the area :)

The location was top notch, close to downtown Marquette which has so many fun shops and cool breweries. It’s also a quick hour drive to pictured rocks which was totally worth it! Overall, a great location, a cozy home to come back to and an awesome backyard to enjoy with lots of fun things at every corner. We definitely recommend this spot and look forward to coming back next year!

It’s so well organized, very nicely furnished, and so thoughtfully provided with everything you need, from the super well equipped kitchen, to the comfortable beds, nice towels, soaps, shampoo and conditioner etc. in the bathrooms. The back yard has a great deck with nice furniture and a beautiful view of the river. None of us wanted to leave!

We had a nice stay. This was the most thoughtfully laid out place we have stayed at. There were plenty of towels, kitchen items, spices, etc. which is usually not the case. It felt like someone just opened their home and said please respectfully help yourself to our home. The place could be cleaner and kept up better, but it was very accommodating for our large family. We loved the kayaks and bikes!

This is a very nice home and property just a few minutes from downtown Marquette. It’s easy to find and access; and it’s a convenient location for going wherever you need to in the area. The home sleeps 8 very comfortably, but you could sleep 3 in a King and 2-3 or 4 more in the trundles (if you’re on friendly terms ). And there’s room for two more on the couches, if the hosts allow that. So I suppose 12 could squeeeze in there, if needed. There is a crib room, as well, next to one of the bedrooms. One note to be aware of: there are no bedrooms on the main floor (except perhaps the couches). There is a half bath. So our 91 year old did need help up the stairs to a bedroom. It was still worth the effort. Valerie is an attentive host and outfitted the home with every single thing a large family needs. Just bring your toothbrush, practically. Our family really enjoyed using the bikes on the nearby trail and the kayaks on the lagoon and out into Lake Superior. We also toasted marshmallows in the fire pit and enjoyed the hot tub. The backyard is beautiful, with chipmunks, cottontails, squirrels, birds of all kinds. Really a nice place. Marquette doesn’t typically need air conditioning, so the home is cooled by the weather. It’s heated of course and there’s a nice gas fireplace in the living room. We enjoyed it on the cold day. The house is very open and has an airy feel - due to all the well-placed and large windows. Lots of light! Very good, pleasant feel to the house.

They really were interested in the homes history! We loved the view, the hot tub…greatly stocked kitchen, and the full baby set up( but our granddaughter last minute, could not make the trip with her mom and dad, those were definite draws to our choosing the home!

My husband and I stayed up in Marquette for a long weekend. We pulled the trailer with our side-by-side and had space in the driveway to do that. The house was very clean but does have a little bit of a musty smell on the main floor and downstairs. The master bathroom is awesome! It even had everything you needed in the tub like shampoo and soap. The king size bed in the master bedroom is extremely soft, which we struggled with a little bit as we are not used to that! We would have loved a television in the bedroom as well, but it didn’t make or break our stay. The kitchen is updated and has everything you need. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay here. It is a beautiful location and if we would’ve brought our kids, they would have enjoyed the very cute playset. Thank you to the owners for providing this space to people!
