Stayed Jul 4, 2021We (2 families) stayed at the house for one week over the 4th of July celebrations. It was amazing. We were able to see a couple different fireworks. The dock at the house was perfect for the kids to watch sea bugs and fish for some bait that we later used for shore fishing at the beach. Everything is very close by but you are still far enough away from the crowds. Perfect vacation.

Stayed Oct 22, 2020We were fortunate to find Neal's lovely home for a fall getaway at the shore, our first escape since the Before Times. As a renter, you always anticipate that eureka moment when you pull up to rental property for the first time. This property certainly provided that--and more. Serene views across the water are stunning in every kind of light and weather, and the place is designed for maximum enjoyment of those views. The house itself is exceptionally comfortable and inviting, with plenty of room to spread out and hunker down. (It was only the two of us, but it still felt cozy, and we didn't feel like we were rattling around in a too-big space.) The location in Ocean View offers proximity to some great trails for biking and walking. For coastal woodlands and wetlands, we highly recommend the Prickly Pear and Fred Hudson trails in Fresh Pond Park, which is easily accessible off Cedar Neck and Hickman Rd. Other nearby preserves and parks are also worth exploring as a fun alternative to the beach. As for our host, Neal was terrific--generous and quick to respond to questions. A couple of suggestions for you, Neal: It would be great to have some direct light in the living room for reading. Maybe add a couple of table or floor lamps? Also--for those of us not used to smart technology, we found it a bit challenging to navigate the tv controls and never were able to find live television broadcasts (MSNBC or CNN for post-debate news), as opposed to YouTube, etc. You might expand your tech instructions in the notebook. We would highly recommend this property and personally look forward to a return visit! Thank you, Neal, for a most rejuvenating retreat.

Stayed Aug 16, 2020This house was just what we were looking for. It is a small, beautiful community. The house has its only private dock and kayak and the view of the bridge at night was perfect. Neal was quick to respond to any questions and helpful throughout the process.

Stayed Jul 25, 2020We really enjoyed our stay here! We really enjoyed everything this house had to offer. Bikes, kayaks, wave boards, grill, stocked kitchen, crabbing supplies, smart TVs, location to bay and beach. The only thing is that the listing says 4 bedrooms but one of the bedrooms is actually the sunroom that has a tendency to get really warm (despite the separate cooling unit in the room).

Stayed Aug 1, 2020We had to cancel our Hilton Head Island trip d/t corona. Last minute we found this lovely home on the bay. IT WAS WONDERFUL! It was well stocked, clean and the owners were very responsive to our questions as we were there during a hurricaine. The only real thing I could recommend adding and its so minor is a mirror in the 2 downstairs bedrooms or in the downstairs hallway/laundry room even.. I have 3 girls so it would have made getting ready easier. LIke I said minor. The dock was great and we kayaked and crabbed. The location to Bethany was fabulous. We also enjoyed some bike rides. All in all a great last minute find to our ruined vacation in HHI...it was so great Im thinking it will be on a future vacation itinerary!! Thanks so much for sharing your home!!

Stayed Jul 4, 2020The house and property were very clean and well maintained. We are a family of 5 so we had plenty of room, the house can easily sleep 10. The second and third floor balconies have a terrific view of the Indian River Bay. We caught crabs off the dock in the backyard and had our inflatable boat docked there as well. A 10 minute drive to Bethany Beach kept us busy during the day and when we got back to the house we’d boat around Indian River Bay. On one of our boat rides we were greeted by a pod of about 8 dolphins that practically swam right up to our boat ( after I shut the motor off, of course) We had dinner at the house every night, due to Covid-19, and biked to the incredible Delaware Seashore Fresh Pond Park afterwards. All in all we had a great stay and hope to return one day.
